Good morning. How is everyone doing today? I'm having cheesecake/pumpkin pie for breakfast.

Whew! We survived yesterday. It was a joyous, chaotic mess! Our daughter brought the turkey and I'd gotten a breast since we added our son and family. She decided to use the convection feature on my oven which I'd never used before. Seemed like a good time to use it because it shortens the roasting time. Wrong! The turkey roasting directions said it would take 2-1/2 hours. 4 hours later it was finally done. All the side dishes were heated and ready to eat at 2:30 and had cooled off by the time the turkey was done. So, everything had to go back in the oven while I carved the turkey and it all came together finally. Of course we'd already gone through 2 bottles of wine and appetizers in the meantime.

It was threatening to rain all day, but held off so the kids could go outside and run off some energy with their various bikes and trikes. This morning we've got sunshine and it'll be going up to 60. Beautiful!

Our daughter and family stayed for the night. Today they're excited to make us chimichangas with the leftovers. They say they like them even better than the dinner! We've never had them so it'll be a treat to try something new - and for someone else to do the cooking today.
So glad to hear it all worked out in the end. Our dinner was also a bit late. Syndee's manager deep fried our turkey. He was going to come to our house at 2:00 to cook ours and two other family's turkeys. He finally showed up at 4:30 and picked up our turkey, he decided to cook them at his girlfriend's house. Finally sat down at 7:30 for dinner. Oh well, better late than never. The deep-fried turkey is really delicious and juicy. I will have to give the chimichangas a try. Baking in the over sounds like the way to go for us.

A touch more mango or a bit less WC could remedy that. :thumb:
I think I will try a touch more mango. I will be hitting up some of the sales that are going on for some more flavors. Mango and peach are on the shopping list and I'm looking at a few others, too.

Happy T+1 :)

Hmm, yeah, breakfast pie sounds good. But maybe not for all week...

Oh, that's not a problem. Besides the cheesecake/pumpkin, apple and Fruits of the Forrest pies, we've got a varied selection.

That cat door is cute. We have 5 doorways in the upstairs hallway. Our dog was always chasing our cats so Mike cut little "cat doors" in the bottom of each door so the cats could get away. Fortunately our cats never got big enough to get stuck like this little kitty did. We used to say the little doorways were for the little people.

(Sorry, wrote this post yesterday and never hit reply)

Good morning. It's a mild 46 and partly cloudy. Hmmm, mild 46. It wasn't that long ago I was saying that 50 degrees was chilly!

Last night before bed Mike went into the kitchen to set up his coffee for the morning. Why is the counter all wet? Oh no! The ceiling was dripping! Turns out the toilet tank in the upstairs bathroom was overflowing! We got lucky though. We wiped up the counter and the bathroom floor after we turned off the water to the toilet. It didn't flood too bad and it happened AFTER Thanksgiving. This morning the towels I'd left on the counter were dry so I guess the dripping is done. So, it's off to Home Depot today.

I told hubby about this. He worked in the plumbing industry during his career and was really involved in the workings of toilets. He said it sounds like there are two problems and he doubts you'll get an accurate answer at HD from the sales people.

Anyway here are the two reasons for a toilet tank to overflow. 1. The float valve is stuck so the water level keeps rising. 2. Toilet tanks have an overflow tube built in to avoid overflows. If the valve gets stuck and the water level reaches the top of the overflow tube the water goes down the tube and drains into the toilet thereby avoiding what happened to yours.

Hubs said he would check the valve first. Also he can’t understand why the overflow tube didn’t catch the water. Is it plugged up?

I hope this helps.

Mike just took a better look at the tank. He says the overflow tube is higher than the water line - which should be below the flush handle. Never noticed that before. It looks like the water was actually coming out of where the flush handle fits into the tank. He's going to try cutting the tube down and will also replace the float-don't trust it anymore. We'll check the rube for any plugs. Thanks for the info. We really appreciate your husband's advice!

I've done the same with a few of our doors as well. We keep our bedroom door closed and windows open at night (year round, although how open varies! ;) ), and that's a lot easier than getting up when they're yowling to get in or out!

Hola .. :)

The Church Thanksgiving meal drive up / hand out was a pretty good success .. all in all, 2500 meals given out .. and, the crew really did it right .. large 3 compartment container with turkey / mashed taters / green beans / dressing / sweet taters .. the gang filled small plastic lid cups with individual gravy / cranberry sauce .. plastic fork and spoon, salt / pepper packets and an individual container with pie or cobbler, including a plastic cup with whipped cream ..

I have to say those that cooked and packed put a lot of love and detailed work into it .. filling 7500 little plastic things with gravy / cranberry / whipped cream and then putting a lid on each one ..

I lost count of how many meals I delivered, worked from 11 AM to 2:00 PM and covered a lot of ground .. it was great, I was tired .. I don't want to be a Grubhub driver .. .. lots of love out there, not a dissenting voice nor any rant ..

I will add that I did knock on a couple Cat Ladies doors and a couple Dog People doors .. which caused me to fear the possibility of being trampled by a herd .. o_O .. I'm not talking one or two cats / dogs ..

nvm @Bea-FL's Hubs answered it. Glad that it didn't happen on T-Day and no permanent damage.

Good Morning, All. I put in a small order with Bull City Flavors, just some of the flavors I used to vape. Since I'm getting back into flavors, I'm not making the same mistake I made the first time and ordering a "Lot" of flavors I'll never use. I like the e-Liquid Calculator and the ease of finding appropriate recipes. Not only that is the changes made to the eJuice me up app. especially the ability to save recipes. Now, that may have been an operator error.
Not a lot going on right now. I deboned the turkey and put a nice turkey breast in the freezer. I just love the Seal-a-Meal or what every that appliance is. There is still dark meat leftover which is my favorite. One of the things I always got when we would go to the state fair was the smoked turkey legs and Nancy would get her Indian Tacos.
I'm just rambling, I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend. Stay safe and well.

Wow, you had quite a busy day and I'm sure everyone truly appreciated all your work. That's a lot of meals. You had to be tired, but with a most satisfying heart. You're a good man Willie.

Yesterday we were both tired from days of prep and then T-day itself so we just had turkey sandwiches for dinner. Our daughter and her hubs were raving about the chimichangas they make with leftovers from T-day. So, tonight I made 6 of them and they were delicious! I put stuffing, little gravy, turkey, corn and mashed potatoes in a tortilla and deep fried them. It was served with a cup of gravy for dipping. You can pretty much fill them with anything. Don't know why I never thought of making these before, but it won't be the last.

Good morning. It was a frosty 28 when I got up this morning.

Last night I could see through the trees that there were lots of Christmas lights up in the neighborhood. Guess everyone was busy on Friday getting decorated. It's probably a good idea to start working on our house today. I broke down and ordered a new garland for the mantle and the box is still sitting in the corner unopened. Sometimes our decorating is an ongoing project throughout December. Might be nice to do it now so we can enjoy it longer. Think we're just putting up the pencil tree this year. With the little ones running around with all their toys it'll give us more room if the big tree isn't taking up so much space. Our kids may be visiting their in-laws this year so we're not even sure they'll be here for Christmas day. Watch this, we'll decorate minimally and they'll all end up coming here anyway! Oh well, regardless, we're going to try to keep it simpler this year.

Hahaha, you so funny. (Said in a female Asian dialect)
I have a new toy! Nothing vape related, a new kitchen appliance. Syndee ordered us an Insta Pot and UPS delivered it today. It wasn't supposed to be here until Tuesday. I'm not complaining. Today, I am going to see what it takes to make a turkey soup with the bones. I put them in the freezer since the Insta Pot wasn't supposed to be this early. I'm sure they will thaw in the pot. Syndee doesn't cook but I didn't mention that when she asked if she should order it. It was one of the Primes specials she is set to receive. I'm excited, I love soups and I hear this is supposed to be great for soups. Don't ask me what model it is, although I will let ya'll know how it turns out.
I'm still working on making small batches of flavored eJuice to find what I like. My order from Bull City Flavors will be here by Tuesday so I'm not too worried I'll run out of Mango. I hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe and well.

You are going to get me in trouble. My daughter just turned 40 and is single. FB here it comes.

Good morning, all. It is a good day so far, I'm just not sure what I am going to do with it. I'm going to start a turkey soup with the Instant Pot here in a little bit. I just need for the caffeine and pills to kick in. I do need to replace the wicks in both tanks so that will take up 10 minutes, now to figure out the rest of the day. lol
I was thinking of going to the farm but I woke up with a cough and runny nose. It is about the time of year for allergies and the dry winds that are blowing don't help. I hope everyone is well and stays safe.
