Happy Friday, folks.

Calm between storms here, but staying a bit over freezing.

Around here, freezing fog usually means black ice. Not fun!

Joy from Revive. "joyful, uplifting aroma"

Revive (and other sites) have many pre-mixed blends of oils. Nice because you don't need to purchase individual oils to make a blend.

Nice purchase @Uncle Willie!

Hola .. :)

Well, I could use a "joyful, uplifting aroma" .. I suppose we all could these days ..

I will tell you this, I've been using my diffuser pretty regularly since I got it .. although all I have is the cheap set of oils I bought at the same time .. I just have to add more drops to get a good scent going ..

I paid around $12 for the set of 6 bottles .. yesterday, I paid $14 for one bottle (minus 10% new customer discount) ..

Who knew there was such a diverse and varied collection of oils by various makers out there with various degrees of quality .. ?? Well, I guess you fine young ladies knew .. I should have checked here first .. :)

There is a test for the quality of the oil. Take a plain, white sheet of paper (like you use in a printer). Put a drop of oil on the paper, leave it for 24 hours. If there is a circle of moisture after the rest period low quality. No circle, better quality. I have tested Revive, Vitality and Aromatics, no residue. I bought some Sandlewood, very cheap (Sandlewood is an expensive oil for quality), residue big time. Oils vary in price depending on how rare the plant is (only grows in limited places, extraction process and more), so a good cheap deal is not really a good cheap deal.

How did you get it loose without damaging it. And did you see any reason it got stuck in the 1st place. Did you check the round for specs like OAL? That would make me nervous to use again not knowing why it jammed.
I believe the scope mount screws were holding it up. They are tapped down into the bolt housing. As far as the round, It was a handload with new brass. There was no damage or scratches on it at all. I took it out to my reloading area and no problems with the fit in the cartridge gauge for the 243 Win. I also pulled the bolt and didn't see any scratches. At the range, I put a dozen rounds through it and it was quarter size groups at 50 yards'. Not as good as my Remington 700 243 Winchester but passable for the distances I'll be shooting. Although, I will have to get a better scope on it for next year.

I'm going to play some Euchre on my pc now
I had to Google that one, at first I thought it was some kind of music.

Good foggy morning.

Looks like our Christmas shopping is done. I'll commence baking today! Mike brought the pencil tree up and it's lit, but I have to wait to decorate it until we can put on It's A Wonderful Life. Each year we watch that while putting up the tree. You'd think it would feel like Christmas here, but I'm not getting it yet. Maybe after the birthday party tomorrow.

Hola .. :)

Worked a Food Giveaway from 9 AM till Noon .. this was mostly a raw food event .. boxes contained a ham, bag of potatoes, some bell peppers, bag of apples, a pineapple, gallon of milk, other misc foods ..

Had a very long line of vehicles, ran out before the line ended .. lots of apparent need out there .. I'm going to sound crass here, but I have this inner turmoil with those driving pretty new Lexus / Cadillac's / etc .. but, I know I should not judge ..

Signed up for the 5 / 0 Toy Drive Thru Giveaway next week .. it should be physically easier ..

My back will be paying me .. TENS unit ready and waiting ..

    FYI:

Sometimes it is easier to get an expensive vehicle, especially with the availability of preditory lending . . . Matter of fact, many dealerships will provide a loan even if your income is so low that you get food assistance/stamps . . . I even had a Mercedes Benz offered to me that I couldn't afford . . . The other thing is maybe these people could afford the car because at the time they were working, but with unemployment and loss of income they get in the food lines now . . . Ya never know . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Yeah, like I said, I should not judge .. it just seems to me if you're driving an 80K vehicle, well, forget it, that's all I'll say ..

Good morning, All. I woke up this morning to about 2" of snow. I winter is here if I'm ready or not. Nothing planned today other than searching for patterns for a cat tree for my kitten. Her favorite place to sit is in the living room window. The snow fascinates her. I swear that the squirrels taunt her when she is in the window. Speaking of snow, after I have more coffee in my system, I will have to go out and sweep the snow off of the satellite dish. At least I can reach it with little effort from the ground.

I'm going to sound crass here, but I have this inner turmoil with those driving pretty new Lexus / Cadillac's / etc .. but, I know I should not judge ..
I remember when I was growing up, this was back in the day when the government gave out Commodities. The distribution was just a couple of blocks from our house. We lived in an old mining town in NE Oklahoma and there was a lot of elderly in town and unemployment at that time. There was one gentleman (old guy) who bought a new Cadillac every couple of years and he was the first person in line each month to get his commodities. My dad told me that the man told him that the government owed him from when he fought in the wars. My dad worked in the grocery business and pretty much knew everyone in town. I try not to judge but after all, I am human.

And we ain't no sissies! Don't have to like some of it, but we can handle it!

I agree, being able to shop online is SO helpful. We did most of ours online too except for one trip to a toy store. We haven't started wrapping yet, but Mike is good at that while I attend to other things and cookies. Except for the kids we won't be seeing any other family members. FaceTime will have to do this year. But this won't last forever. We're still better off than so many people. And who knows, we may decide we like shopping like this all the time! Definitely easier on the feet!

Good morning. Raining here at 39 degrees, going all the way up to 41 today. Looks like we might have a blizzard headed our way Wed. night into Thurs. Don't think there's a reason to go out anywhere so we'll just enjoy staying home and watching it snow. Of course, where we live between the Pocono mountains and the sea, the storm doesn't have to veer very far east or west and our weather totally changes so we'll see what happens.

We were at our son's house yesterday to celebrate Miles 6th birthday. Feels weird that it's been 6 years already since he was born. When we left, Mike tripped on the curb and face planted on the sidewalk and grass. Fortunately he just ended up with some bruises and a sprained thumb. I guess I didn't make it clear to him that there is no injuries or sickness allowed before Christmas!

Rain and 43 here, going up to, uh, 44? But snow level still good for the mountains.

Darn, face plants are NOT good! Hope that's all the damage done. Oh, and how's the sidewalk?

Mostly done with the preps, here. Like so many, no visits, so all has been shipped out.

    Good morning! :)

Weather has been a bit funky; we're getting a lot of fog, especially where my daughter lives closer to the ocean....

Christmas stuff is just about done except for one gift that needs to be delivered to Church for our 'little angel' tree.

Have bags ready for distribution to the needy and we intend to do it on a regular basis......they have to eat all year, not just at Christmas.
Food banks are very busy, and more and more folks need assistance, so we'll try and do our part....our neighborhood is active in that regard.

    Stay warm, all!
