Morning, all.

We keep stacking up storm fronts, rain here and snow in the mountains. And then whatever it decides to do as it continues to move east, which atm seems to be getting colder and whiter!

Good afternoon, all :)

Woke up to 35o this morning and so glad I didn't get rid of my winter garb and grateful that I have room enough to store it. I've been needing it for other years as well, but this year the cold seems to have a bit more bite to it.

Daughter is coming over this afternoon; headed to the hairdresser, and then get a bite to eat.

Stay warm and well! :)

Hola .. :)

Not much to report .. as I had mentioned previously, I finally found a TV stand I liked .. got it the other day and it was still leaning against the wall in the box .. I so love putting together knock down furniture ..

At any rate, one of my neighbors dropped by with some Christmas baked goodies for me .. (masked and socially distant, of course ;)) .. she saw the box, asked what it was and then volunteered to assemble it for me .. I call that a Win / Win .. :)

Good morning. 10 degrees here. Glad I got my errands run yesterday because I don't want to go out anywhere today!

That's amazing. She could rent herself out because most people I know dread putting furniture together.

Geez, earlier we were talking about the mail problems people are having. We get a notice each day with a picture of mail pieces to be delivered that day. Thurs and Fri that mail didn't show up until a day later. Never happened before. I figured with PO employees being out due to Covid and the huge increase in people ordering stuff online there was bound to be some delays, but it turns out it's much worse than I thought. Here's an article posted today on our Next-door thread:

Packages pile up at Pa. postal facilities: ‘You’re not gonna get your Christmas presents’

Here's the gist of it -

“Don’t be using the post office right now, because we can’t deliver the mail,” said Laurence Love, an assistant clerk craft director who operates mail-sorting machines at the Philadelphia Processing and Delivery Center. Facilities across the region are so full of packages, there is barely enough room to walk, employees in Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley, and South Jersey said. In Allentown, about 10 trailers filled with mail are sitting in the parking lot, with no room to unload the items.

Maybe Mike and I will have to do drive-byes and toss the packages onto porches instead of mailing them.

    Morning, all.

More rain. Rinse. Repeat. Temps too high, here, low land flooding expected over the next few days (we're not lowland!), as much of the snow melts off.

Glad we got all our mail out early! Wouldn't have any thing to do with the removal of so many sorting machines, would it?

Good morning, all. @FranC, I haven't sent out cards in so long I can't remember. I haven't been in a Christmas mood for a long time. It will just be another day as far as I'm concerned.
I've been spending time at the farm and yesterday Steven and I spent the day in a deer stand. Today, I'm stove up so I'll not be venturing out anywhere. We haven't seen any deer since my first day in the ground blind last month. There was a bobcat that we watched coming up from the creekbed. Trapping season runs until the end of February so we'll be putting out traps probably next week. I've got some more traps on order and Steven is prepping the other traps and they're just about ready for the wax pot.
I hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe and well.

Each year I write a Christmas letter about happenings for the year. Mike then adds a couple pictures to it and we email it to friends and relatives. There's only about 6 that actually get printed out and mailed. That's a good thing this year.

I just realized that my mail order thyroid medicine was mailed to me on 12/9 and I still don't have it. I had to order 2 other meds this morning and called my insurance about it. Turns out my 12/9 order is sitting in NJ and who knows when this mornings order will get here. If I have to have my doc call in Rx's to a local pharmacy to get me through, the insurance company may reject it as being filled too soon. Then I'll just have to call the insurance again and they'll do an override so the scripts can be filled. There's more than one way to skin a cat. (good grief, where did that awful phrase come from?)

    Hola .. :)

For various and sundry reasons, I am also a member of that Club .. I'm not quite to the Bah, Humbug level yet but that may be coming at some point ..

"I wear the chain I forged in life, I made it link by link, and yard by yard; I girded it on of my own free will, and of my own free will I wore it."

My chain has little to do with Marley's Ghost .. but serves as a metaphor on the tossing aside of the things I came to realize later were much more important ..
