I have been in the Bah Humbug frame of mind for years. My Jewish husband has done the decorations for many years. This year our best try is 3 poinsettias on the fireplace mantel . Tonight we went to dinner with our good friends (and Geordi's breeders) in Crystal River. We sat outside and took our time with dinner until the small boat parade went by. I have to say it was FUN!

Morning, misfits :)

Must be June, 50 degrees and rain... Well, in between storms for a few hours, but not done by several days. Always makes me glad we paid attention to geography when we got our land. Nope, not buying in a flood plain!

Good morning all

Another gloomy day, the little bit of snow is now gone.

I'm SO glad that I have a streaming box and that I
still can crotchet!

So far I've made about a dozen or more hats for the homeless..no, I'm not a "good Samaritan"...I'm just BORED!:)

Good morning Kay and David. It's been cold enough that we've still got a lot of snow on the ground. It's going up to 37 today, but will be warming up starting tomorrow. Gonna be some flooding to contend with for some.

I got some merangue kisses made and the pencil tree is trimmed. We watched It's A Wonderful Life last night while working on the tree so that's another tradition checked off.

My mother-in-law would make them every year and always complained that she couldn't get them to be dry in the center. A couple years ago I took a class on cookie making and this was one of the recipes. She used som granulated sugar, but also powdered sugar. They came out perfectly crunchy all the way through! Perfect every time!

Does anybody else make Kiffel? It's a cream cheese dough rolled out into 2" squares, filled with a mix of Lakvar and apricot preserves or a mix of ground nuts, sugar and egg whites and then 2 of the points of the square were overlapped so it looked like a swaddled baby. They were then sprinkled with powered sugar.

This was my view today. Had no luck but enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels playing. You just can't beat the peace and quiet sitting in a deer blind on a crisp winter day. I just don't care for the drive getting there and back, an hour each way. The ground blind in the distance is also mine and it was empty. I didn't want anyone to think I was being irresponsible and ignoring safe hunting strategy.

More rain and still too warm, although that's (maybe) going to change.

Very funny. Except for him being bald on top this could be us!!

Good morning David. It's foggy here. There will probably be a lot of melting and flooding as the temps rise.

I don't see any deer food? Is that not legal where you are?

Lovely view tho!

Good afternoon! :)

Looking forward to sunset tonight to see the Great Conjunction......earlier it was cloudy here and now the skies are blue, so hoping it stays that way! This is supposedly something that hasn't happened in over 800 years......that's a mighty long time.

Yes .. however, I'm pretty sure based on what I've seen on-line, I may need to head out to a cornfield to see it .. looks like it's fairly low on the horizon and I'm surrounded by big trees .. I can remember 1986 when Halley's Comet last showed up .. I got some pretty good pictures and now I can't find the negatives ..
