Good morning. Wow, we're having a heat wave! It's going up to 43 today! We've got sunshine and looks like not much change of rain for the next few days.

So now I've figured out how to crochet granny squares, now I gotta figure out how to hook them together. Thought it would be fun to make them different colors, but when the outside colors are not the same it poses a problem of which color to use to stitch them together. Looks like I have more work ahead of me, but that's part of the learning process.

I hope this is helpful Janet...it's how I do it...and I'm NOT the best crotcheter in the world..just use a basic white or black or whatever color you choose...single crotchet all around the squares..then join each one together...again, whichever color/colors you choose.

Not much going on here to speak of....I'm off to go food shopping; laundry almost done...just one more load for today.
It finally warmed up here a bit. 41o earlier this morning, but as long as the sun is shining...I can handle it...

Not much of anything to report .. I made chicken and dumplings from scratch yesterday (I of course, did not grow the chicken, instead, I cheated by using rotisserie chicken from Kroger, they had them on sale at 2 for $10, I mean, you can't buy a raw chicken, skin it and cook it for much less that that ..) .. usually, I buy the square pre-made frozen dumplings, but I decided to make them myself this time ..

While I was at the Kroger yesterday, I picked up a few other things, I was surprised how busy it was .. and, BTW, what's up with bacon .. ?? 12 OZ package for $5.49 on sale .. ?? .. I'd not bought any bacon for a while, and felt some sticker shock on that .. and, yeah, gas prices have been on the upswing 'round these parts as well .. $2.59 / gallon as of this AM ..

Just too durn cold to get out and work in the yard, although it needs it .. plenty of debris to clean up and I've still not raked up the leaves .. oh, well, it will still be there .. (or maybe they will blow into my neighbors yards ..) ..

Mike, the Linda Ronstadt documentary was a CNN film .. I watched it on HBO MAX streaming .. included with my HBO Cable Subscription .. it shows up under Amazon Prime, but I put my Prime account on hold last month so I don't know if it's included or PPV .. if it's PPV, it's still well worth a watch .. IMO, anyway ..

Hmmm. I usually spend most of my online time in the morning, then get on with, gasp, "real" life. Although do stop in randomly throughout the day.

Rain continues. About 1 1/4" in the last 24 hours, still raining, more coming.

Yep, it's a far cry from the Glory Days .. what saddens me, I think, is the loss of folks over the years that I had come to know. From passing, or from just deciding to move on and exit.

ECF along with a large Audio/Video forum are my only two pieces of what, I suppose, would be considered Social Media .. and, I've stuck with them, because, I believe, that's how you fit into an on-line Community .. I was even a Mod for a time on the Audio/Video forum .. you think things sometimes get heated on ECF .. ?? Gather up with a bunch of Nerds that will argue about which speaker system sounds best or what TV is better than another ..

I'm not interested in hanging around the cesspool known as Facebook, I suppose I would participate in Twitter if they paid me to Tweet, but that's about it .. and, it would need to be at least $10 per Tweet ..

I'm not saying they don't have a place, I'm saying that there are more Agendas being pushed than there is actual Community ..

Oops my post entered without me entering it....go figure!

I've limited my time on the computer for obvious reasons, but do visit my personal forums (garden & nutrition) on other platforms.

F/B would be dead to me, however, our family still communicates on a daily basis, and that is important....if we really want to connect, there is phone, e mail. In the last few days, we had a death in our family, and the phone was our main avenue of contact.

If friends want to communicate, nothing will stop them, one way or another.

I just completed the NM registration form - I guess I signed up to make an appointment. It wasn't quite clear what some of the questions were asking, and there is noone to ask except maybe after you successfully complete the registration. Maybe. Anyhow, if you live in New Mexico, you don't just show up and get your shot. I guess my point is that you should check for your state. I searched for "covid vaccine in NM"

The VA has me on the list, they do a pretty good job with email and text updates .. problem is, the priority is Vets in the Hospitals, Nursing Facilities, Care Givers, etc .. and, they have not yet gotten a huge supply of the vaccine in the STL area, so it's still being somewhat rationed ..

It's a big system, I can wait till the line moves up ..
