    Hola .. :)

Well, Kay .. it's kind of been general Deadsville here as well as the only other Forum I frequent .. usually, it's during the Summer months that things tend to slow .. right now, I suppose I could theorize that ::

    1) Post-Holiday Fatigue along with Winter Blues are in play
    2) Burn-out from the period stretching from November to Now due to obvious factors
    3) Covid Burn-out

Let's face it .. many if not most of us are just plain tired .. I know I am .. it's a mental fatigue, a brain drain ..

At any rate, ECF is a far cry from it's hey-day .. how ever things go in the Future, I treasure my time on ECF and all the folks that have come and gone along with those that stayed ..

I sincerely hope the Collective does not give up ..

Well I know what's right, I got just one life
in a world that keeps on pushin' me around
but I'll stand my ground, and I won't back down

It's Tom Petty on Guitar and Harmony on this great take by Johnny Cash ::

I always considered that, my song.

Now I'm gonna do my morning ritual...drink coffee..vape...and play on-line Euchre to wake up my poor brain...

sounds like me. I wake up, I have to make a complicated home cooked breakfast every morning to start waking myself up. Eggs whites, stir fried spinach, toast with butter, a nice side of bacon... finally around 2 or 3 hours before bedtime the fog clears from behind my stinging eyes and I’m finally ready to get into bed.

Sounds like you're talking about me. Yesterday I realized I hadn't been on ECF all week. I took some time to catch up. That took about 1/2 hr. Back in the 'good old' days of ECF if I stayed away that long it would take a day or 2 to catch up. Figured I should check in this morning or you folks might have started asking Janet where I was.

Oh ... and this one for your @Anise

Good morning. Woke up to rain, but it looks like it's clearing up a bit. We'll still get to 45 today so, not bad. Like you Kay, I'm looking for some nice bright, sunny days! Take heart! 63 days until Spring!

Well, here you go. I finished it. Don't look too close, there's lots of mistakes, but it was a learning experience.

    Hola .. :)

Got some snow last night, just enough to make it white out there .. I'd guess it will be gone soon ..

I don't generally dream, or if I do, I don't remember .. however, last night, I dreamed I got a small dog of some sort .. weird .. since my old Golden Retriever died some years ago, I decided I would not get another dog, since it was possible the dog would outlive me, and that seemed particularly cruel to the dog ..

I would never get another big dog, because, selfishly, I've put too much work into the back yard to have a big dog mess with it ..

I think you're on to something here. It seems that I hear about covid and the slump our country is experiencing so much that I just can't think straight sometimes. And coming on any forum it is still there in the background. I can't get my thoughts straight this morning. I know what I want to say but just can't get the words right when it comes to putting my thoughts to the keyboard.

No mistakes that I can see. If you had fun and learned from making it then that is what matters.

Steven came over yesterday and worked his tush off fixing all of the electric problems I had. The lights look great and it is wonderful being able to see. But there is a problem, now I can see that things are not as clean as I thought they were. Steven also dropped off the traps and today I'm going out and making some retrieval cables and waxing all of them. I hope all is well with everyone and hope ya'll stay safe.

Good morning. It's up to 37 already this morning. Lots of clouds, but the sun is peaking out at the moment. We could get some flurries today which would be very nice since it won't last.

Thanks for the kind words about the granny square blanket. I'd like to try another one now that I know a little more about what I'm doing. It's funny, I originally started working on a blanket that has turned out to be bigger than intended, but I got it this far, might as well finish it. I have no idea what I'm doing - just making up the stitches as I go along and then see a tutorial and find that my stitches actually have a name! Someday I might follow a pattern, but for now it's just a free form project to tap into some creative juices. It's easy to neglect that part of the brain when dealing with so many RL chores.

I bet it's beautiful! Snow falling is so peaceful and lovely. I like to watch a show called The Incredible Dr. Pol who has his vet practice in MI. Winters there look brutal, but the farm animals seem to make out just fine as long as they have a barn or some kind of shelter. Too much snow for me!

Don't be worried he has not left us - nor "Moved On" . . . Although - "Mother Nature" decided to give him a "time-out" by sending a strong enough wind storm a few days ago to silence his connection to the Internet (Down Trees and Wires - Very poor Cell phone reception too) . . . He wants everyone to know he and his "Family" are OKAY . . . AND - They're just waiting for the very overworked helpers of the incompetent companies that supply these services to get them reconnected to the "World" outside their little community . . . He should be back to ECF ASAP to continue to enlighten and illuminate "Us" all with his sophisticated & humorous daily prose . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Good afternoon, all. It is a sunny day outside and one that I will try to enjoy. I need to finish the traps and also do a bit of raking the leaves and small sticks that weren't picked up when the city's crews went through and collected all of the limbs from the last ice storm. I hope everyone stays safe and well.

Oh geez David, that's a lot of frustration. Hope you didn't have a lot of clean up work outside. Hope all is well now.
