Good morning, I'm here, just taking a break from some deep house cleaning!

Hope you all are doing well! 42o here this morning, but is warming up to the 50s later on!

Hi my ( our friend!)

The weather is so weird this year...we've had hardly no snow cuz it's been too warm!

Good morning. Woke up to rain, but it looks like it's clearing up a bit. We'll still get to 45 today so, not bad. Like you Kay, I'm looking for some nice bright, sunny days! Take heart! 63 days until Spring!

Well, here you go. I finished it. Don't look too close, there's lots of mistakes, but it was a learning experience.

How lovely that is! I'd say you're doing quite well!
The last time I crocheted was back in Bloomfield New Jersey when I made all the neighborhood kids panchos...that was many a year ago. Never did pick up the interest again, for some reason......still have all my needles somewhere in my arts and crafts storage box.

Ah, and we have had some of the coldest weather here in Florida....still wearing all my winter stuff; boots, sweaters, etc.

Personal Message from @DavidOck . . .

Don't be worried he has not left us - nor "Moved On" . . . Although - "Mother Nature" decided to give him a "time-out" by sending a strong enough wind storm a few days ago to silence his connection to the Internet (Down Trees and Wires - Very poor Cell phone reception too) . . . He wants everyone to know he and his "Family" are OKAY . . . AND - They're just waiting for the very overworked helpers of the incompetent companies that supply these services to get them reconnected to the "World" outside their little community . . . He should be back to ECF ASAP to continue to enlighten and illuminate "Us" all with his sophisticated & humorous daily prose . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Hola .. :)

I had thought about Dave when he seemed to disappear for a while, so thanks for the update ..

Some snow the last couple days, but not what you'd call SNOW .. pretty well gone soon after sunrise ..

No matter what you thought of Phil Spector, he helped write/produce the Soundtrack of many of our lives and was incredibly gifted and talented as far as his work .. RIP, you nut case ..

Spector's first real hit, with his band, the Teddy Bears, in 1958 ..

Good morning, all. It is 52° with a high of 55°. I'm heading out to Steven's so we can finish up all of the traps. I wound up making 22 20" retrieval cables for the spring type traps and 4 anchoring cables for my dog-proof traps. I know it isn't interesting but I am finding all of the reading and building the traps to be a fascinating hobby. I'm also doing some research on a new trail camera that I can set up and it will send me photos to my cell phone so if I trap something I can go to the farm. Since it is close to a 75-mile round trip, the camera will pay for itself on the gas-saving alone in the first month. I may just put that stimulus check to good use. Well, I hope everyone has a good Holiday. Stay safe and well.

Good morning, all. Another early day for me, now if I could just figure out what to do since I'm up so early. The small members of my family are fed and I'm on my second cup of coffee. I think it will be a day that requires more than just two cups. I hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe and well.

Well, that was fun. Not. But, in the bigger scheme of things, being without the net for 6 days is still better off than those who lost power and, in some cases, houses, to the storm last Tuesday night Wednesday AM. We did have a few small trees come down, but the only thing they hit was the ground. :thumb: Lots of other debris, a couple days gathering that all up, and another day on the burn pile getting rid of that. The trees can wait, they're not in the way of anything. And will be another couple days making them small enough for the next burn...

Then, many days battling with the local telco that "wheels" my ISP. And my ISP putting pressure on them for me... finally restored last night. While next door neighbor got their net back last Wednesday night, when the land lines got restored. Uh, yeah, they pay the local directly, not via their ISP. Yeah, send the workers out twice to fix one location, makes good economic sense...

Nice to hear you came through relatively unscathed. I feel the pain you went through with out the net fro 6 days. Janet and I went through that a few month's ago. I think we beat you by a day ... we were out for 7 days, but at least we could use our phones as hotspots to connect to the Webz.

Usually David, but I'll answer to any name if it's a call for coffee or chocolate ;)

Yeah, multiple times. Of course. That's one of the first things they ask. (Well, they don't know I'm a geek who's been using computers probably longer than they've been alive.) And rebooted 2 or more times a day, not being sure if it locked up or gave up trying

I wish! They're generally usable for voice, out here in the sticks. If we stand in the right spot. Nowhere near enough signal to load a simple text page... so usually the phones are linked to our wifi, rather than the other way around.

Good morning :)
Stayed in bed a bit longer than usual this morning......didn't want to get out of that warm bed! Looking out the window and realizing it was 37o made me get right back under the blankets.

Whoa! 37! That's way below freezing for where you live! Remember back when you lived up north and 37 felt balmy after several days below 32? Usually happened sometime in February. Our high today is going to be 41 which is a lot better than some places. At least the sun is shining. Makes me remember 40 years ago when we lived in the woods. The stone road leading in didn't get rid of the ice until the end of April.

I spent some time this morning cleaning out my desk and file cabinet. Time for some smaller furniture. The more room we have the more we need. I gotta rethink why I save so much paperwork. Most of the stuff I never have to refer to except to go through and throw the old stuff away.
