Meet Me in St Louie Louie
A short List of terms both Invented and Not, yet having become part of the Common Lexicon during the Pandemic .. our Language has expanded, IOW .. feel free to add any others you may know or use ::

Smizing .. Smiling with your eyes while being Masked Up
Masked Up .. Self Explanatory
Covidiot .. Insult to someone that flouts Health & Safety
Coronial .. New Generation of Babies born During Pandemic / Compare to Baby Boomers
Contactless Delivery .. Self Explanatory
Asymptomatic .. you know what it means
Contact Tracing .. you know what it means
Social Shaming .. you know what it means
Covid-10 / Covid-20 .. Weight Gain
New Normal .. you know what it means
Super-Spreader .. you know what it means
Shelter In Place .. ditto
PPE / Personal Protective Equipment
N95 Mask .. the Gold standard
Quarantini .. a cocktail made at Home
Flatten the Curve .. you know what it means
Social Distancing .. you certainly know what it means
Needles into Arms .. fairly new

I won't even touch on the Medical terms we've become accustomed to ..

Now, the challenge is to see how many you can put in one sentence ..

You know, like "Did you see that Covidiot who was not Masked Up, he looks like he's Covid-20 and a walking Super-Spreader, crap, I need to get home and mix up a Quarantini .."

Good morning everyone...

it's beginning to seem as tho this forum has become "morning only posting".! :p

I awoke much earlier than usual so I came on here to read yesterdays afternoon-evening posts...:?:

none!!!

My usual routine lately is: wake up..get a large cuppa coffee...watch the news for a bit ( I like to get depressed n angry first thing...it gets my adrenalin going)

Come here to read the rest of yesterdays posts( no luck there)

( Has anyone noticed that I've been copying Willie's and others form of posting? As in good spacing between sentences? MUCH neater and easier to read!!

Thanks Willie and other that post this way!

Have as good a day as possible in this current insane world!

Now I'm gonna go do another morning ritual..this one is to get my poor ole brain in gear... playing on-line Euchre...

Have a great day n stay safe!

Good morning Bea and Kay. Sheesh, our high today is 27 and it's blustery, but at least the sun is shining. Our snow/sleet is supposed to start here late on Sunday through Monday. 1-3".

49 days, 19 hours, 56 minutes and 10 seconds until Spring.

Poor little puffball birds are fighting over the suet. There were 4 bluebirds and some other finches etc out there that got a little of it until the starlings showed up. They're like bulls in a china shop! When they're gone I'm going to put out some more suet for the birds they chased away.

Tried to get lard at our local grocery store that usually carries everything. No luck. We'll be making a Costco run, maybe they have some. We go through a lot of suet on these really cold days. Lard is better than crisco for the birds if I can just find some.

And what i've seen on tv, there's mutations of it now!

Morning, all.

Still raining, although they claim we'll have some sun breaks. Uh huh. They also said we'd get snow, and that didn't happen. (Although no complaints on that error!)

Well, yeah, that's what virii do, mutate. That's why the flu shot is different every year. No real surprise that this related one does the same.

And yes, it's going to take quite a while for all those who want the shot to get it. Roughly 250 or so million "adults", two shots each. So, also 500 million syringes, gloves etc. Can't make that much of anything overnight. And 50+ (territories) ways to get it into arms...

Yep, I agree with David, that's what viruses do - mutate. This C19 is not going away just like the seasonal flu hasn't gone away. We just call it the seasonal flu and don't pay much attention to it unless we get it. At least the Tamiflu seems to be pretty effective.

I just signed up for a telephone town hall about C19 with our state senator on 2/4. Hopefully we'll get some encouraging news about the vaccine. If you've watched people getting the shot on tv, have you noticed how big the actual needle is? Why does it have to be so long? Geez, some of those frail, skinny nursing home people look like that needle is going to come out the other side of their arm!

Morning, all.

More rain here, crazy warm. didn't get below 40 overnight.

Dang, who'd have thought suet would be the next item to hoard! Although I did see that roller skates are in short supply

And there's the rub, still no readily available and effective treatment. I suspect (totally without scientific basis ;) ) that that's where covid will be heading. Annual shot, just like flu. And, eventually, OTC meds for "mild" cases.

I guess if the mug is big enough... and if it's Irish Coffee ;)

Hola .. :)

Although I did see where regular old flu cases were down dramatically over the last year ..

Yep, Pharma / CDC has been pretty mum about the long lasting protection of the vaccine, I don't think they really know .. it's possibly a good bet that it may become an annual thing .. and, unless you're covered, likely won't be free, which opens up a whole new can 'o worms ..

Good morning Kay. Yep, you win! And you get to pick your prize. Of course you get to pay for it too so there is that.

19 degrees here this morning. The sun is shining and the sky is blue - calm before the storm? I've been checking around and tomorrow we're going to get either snow and sleet or 12" of snow. Looks like they're leaning more toward snow now which makes sense if the temps are going to remain in the 20s. Guess we'll see.

We're going to our daughters today to see the boys and give her some advice on painting her powder room. Brody woke up this morning asking for Nana and Bop Bop. He's so funny. He's trying hard to talk, but it's a struggle to understand him. He'll be happy when we arrive because I'm bringing yogurt drops and gummies!
