Good morning, all. It appears we will have a chamber of commerce day, scattered sunshine, light winds, and temp in the low 70°s.

I have taken up a new hobby. Since my grandfather gave me my first pocket knife when I was 10, I have made pointed sticks. I decided that I will try to do more so thanks to the internet I have downloaded some basic patterns and will make my time outside a bit more proactive. I like to sitting on my side porch while my dog does her business. I now take my pocket knife along with some basswood and make wood chips. The only thing I have been able to do is to learn how to sharpen my knife to a really fine edge.

I hope everyone has a great day. Stay safe and well.

    Yay for the hummer siting!

Took my 1.5 mile walk early this morning, then started work in the garden.......lots of pruning and downright 'getting rid of overgrown branches'. One bush I've trained into a topiary has gotten too high and debating whether to really give it a major top off and start over! It's over 5 ft. tall now, and although looks good, just not as eye catching as it once was.

That afternoon slump has hit once again!

I had a very close friend. We were so close we considered each other sisters. I was finally a big sister! She entered the hospital on 12th of April with pneumonia. She was diagnosed with covid on the 13th. She seemed to be getting better but within 6 days we knew we were wrong. On the 27th my little sister died of covid. She wasn't immunized because where she lived in Tennessee 50 was too young to fit in a category. I used to say I didn't know anyone with covid much less someone who'd died from it. I can't say that anymore. Covid bites and its horrible. I miss my sister. I'm in a world of emotional pain right now. Pray none of y'all lose someone you love to covid.

Anise, I'm so sorry for you're loss. May you find a bit of relief remembering the close bond and good times the two of you shared.

Aw Anise, my deepest sympathies go out to you!
My grandaughters grandfather passed about a month ago...heart wrenching...he was one of the finest men I've ever been blessed to know and my heart aches for his awesome wife.
They were like two peas =in-a-pod for 50-some years. I try to tell myself that at least they had a very long loving life together.

Good morning. Blue skies, sunshine and 48 degrees. The big winds from yesterday are gone, just breezy now.

Busy day ahead. Somebody is coming to pick up some garage shelves this morning and then we're going to go find the shredding event to get rid of materials accumulating over the winter. Then we're going to our daughter's house where our son and family will be visiting. We haven't seen his kids since Easter.

    Hola .. :)

I don't know if anyone recalls my Ancestry journey and my discoveries .. at any rate, I'm beginning to gear up for a trip to Myrtle Beach to visit my closest living blood relation, my Aunt Anita .. taking the truck in next week for a complete bumper to bumper look see by the best mechanic I know .. he's my age and only takes a few select customers these days .. but, he is simply excellent / reasonable and honest .. and has an amazingly encyclopedic knowledge of Chevy trucks from the last 40 years ..

Mike lost the tips of four of his fingers on his right hand many years ago .. he kids with folks that it allows him to reach into areas on vehicles that others could not and is the secret to his success .. while he may be kidding, he's probably right ..

I have not really been out of a small radius of the local area since some months before the Pandemic .. so, I am both excited and a bit apprehensive ..

I won't do the whole 13+ hours on the way there .. likely stop in Knoxville which is about half way, for the night and then drive into Myrtle Beach the next day .. there is an hour loss time change .. I may drive back in one shot, don't know for sure yet ..
