Hola .. :)

I appreciate all the well wishes and travel tips .. :) ..

I think what is bugging me more than anything is, the timing of this is falling into me leaving about 2 weeks from now .. which then puts me coming back closer to Memorial Day .. with the stirrings of the Populace as the perception of Covid loosening it's grip continue, I just don't know what the Interstates are going to look like, traffic wise ..

I know, right? Do they not read? Or they ask you a question that you've obviously already answered. Ever send an email with a couple questions and they reply and only answer 1 question? I've actually sent multiple emails to certain people with 1 question at a time.

Been there, done that .. unloading things can develop into a real mental exercise, sometimes futile .. last time I gave a big thing away, it was a recliner last year I replaced .. I hand dollied it out to the end of the driveway, put a thing on Facebook Marketplace that it was free and it was gone in 10 minutes ..

It's really hard to predict this year. One thing is for sure, it's going to be either normal crazy or nutso crazy, but you could luck out and have clear sailing all the way home. One good thing about the lockdown is NO TRAFFIC hardly at all!! I'd say just relax and be prepared for anything. Just go with the flow and I'll watch the news for a video about a man stuck in traffic who whipped out his guitar and is dancing in the street.

FREE signs are magical. Makes things go Poof!

Can you schedule that part so you can travel on, say, Tuesday? Or in the middle of the long weekend, when most people are at their destination?

Doesn't work around here. If "FREE" the assumption must be that it's somehow worthless. What may folk do is put a price sign on. Item vanishes immediately.

I'm leaning toward leaving on Tuesday the 17th .. and departing pre-Memorial Day weekend ..

When you visit your Dad, do you drive straight through .. ??

I was all set to go last year in May, and then along came the Pandemic .. in the meantime, I continued my goofy video jag and made Anita a few, which had to be put on DVD and mailed, since she is not very computer literate .. so, yeah, she insists I must bring a guitar .. o_O:eek:

We are planning on leaving the 17th to drive to Massachusetts to pick up a puppy!!! Yep, he is from a different breeder than Geordi. We plan on 3 days up, 3 or more days home depending on how the puppy travels. He will be 10 weeks old. The litter name theme is "rock and roll". Searching our brains and memories for a rock and roll song relating to Star Trek, our family theme, DH remembered something but couldn't place it. A friend remembered - the movie Star Trek First Contact. One of the sub themes is the scientist who invented warp drive (where they zoom through space light years in seconds). The first test flight, it happens. He will be Firefly Magic Carpet Ride, aka Rocket. (Firefly is the breeder's kennel name).

Geordi will be happy to have a playmate!

Yeah, if your travel isn't on the opening or ending days, shouldn't be much of an issue.

Straight through? Nah, those 1400 mile drives are a bit much to do that any more! Might have, say 40 years ago. Usually two long days, about 12 hours each, then a comparatively short jaunt on the third, getting me there around mid-day. Not too tired, and not needing to roust my bro out of his bed to let me in ;)

Yeah, actually right at 1450 from my door to my brother's, in a Phoenix suburb. When I go solo, about 600 miles a day is, well, more than enough! But it does make the third on the road day seem like a Sunday drive :)

Bea, look for local FB market groups. I belong to a few that are within 15 miles of me, so I pretty much only look at those groups or if I have something to sell just post to one of the local groups.

When we travel, about 600 miles a day is about all we can handle anymore. We used to do more, but just don't want to do that anymore..

I'm going to try and squeeze in 450 on a 2 day split, 900 total miles or so .. since I gain my hour back on the trip home, I may shoot for a straight drive through ..

Making sure I pack the TENS unit since I'm thinking it will get some use ..
