    Hola .. :)

I don't know if anyone recalls my Ancestry journey and my discoveries .. at any rate, I'm beginning to gear up for a trip to Myrtle Beach to visit my closest living blood relation, my Aunt Anita .. taking the truck in next week for a complete bumper to bumper look see by the best mechanic I know .. he's my age and only takes a few select customers these days .. but, he is simply excellent / reasonable and honest .. and has an amazingly encyclopedic knowledge of Chevy trucks from the last 40 years ..

Mike lost the tips of four of his fingers on his right hand many years ago .. he kids with folks that it allows him to reach into areas on vehicles that others could not and is the secret to his success .. while he may be kidding, he's probably right ..

I have not really been out of a small radius of the local area since some months before the Pandemic .. so, I am both excited and a bit apprehensive ..

I won't do the whole 13+ hours on the way there .. likely stop in Knoxville which is about half way, for the night and then drive into Myrtle Beach the next day .. there is an hour loss time change .. I may drive back in one shot, don't know for sure yet ..
I'm glad you're finally making the trip. Be safe.

Well, I'm not leaving just yet, but I did tell her yesterday that I could eat my weight in crab .. :D .. it may turn into quite the shin-dig as she's trying to get her 3 sons and their wives to go as well .. one of her son's, my 1st Cousin, was born a month after me .. and, he's a Scientist, of all things .. an expert on Bird Migration and how it works .. another is a retired NYPD officer that was at 9/11 .. and the other is a doorman at a ritzy high rise off Central Park in NYC ..

Should make for some interesting discussion if they all show up ..

Good afternoon all. Not much going on today. I'm going to just be lazy. I filled the tank on my weed-eater yesterday and did a load of weed whacking. Yes, I overdid it and my back is telling me about it.

I went to the workshop yesterday evening to cut some small wood blocks. Syndee's friend had used my bandsaw to cut plywood. I had put a brand new 3/8 inch blade in it a couple of weeks ago and only used it twice. The blade was a total loss. Needless to say, I was very upset. The cost of the blade was less than $10 but it was the idea that again he broke something and didn't say anything about it. I just ordered a new one and I'll let him know that he can't use that saw to cut plywood.

I hope everyone has a good weekend. Stay safe and well.

Good morning and happy Sunday! One of the nice things about being retired is each day is whatever we want it to be. There are no real plans for the day, but I think I'll see if I can talk Syndee into taking me to Sam's to pick up a few necessities. But first I need to get the caffeine level topped off. Stay safe and well.

Good morning. Well, it was morning when I started typing this.

We spent yesterday with our kids and their kids and had such a nice time. The boys play so well together and they're so funny. Us ladies sampled some new wine and we ordered pizza for dinner so we didn't have to cook. Nice day.

Yay! So glad to hear that you're going to visit in person! It sounds like it should be a very interesting visit. Be sure to take any pictures you might have to share.

Next time you loan it out, tell him to supply his own blade. Sheesh. Or better yet, save the old blade and put that on. I've always thought that if I'm borrowing something it's only considerate return it in the same condition or even better.

Speaking of being considerate, Mike has an old shelf system in the garage that he posted online to give away - for free - just come pick it up. Within an hour a lady said she wanted it and then didn't show up when she said she would. Never called to say she wasn't coming, never responded to Mike . The next person interested wanted Mike to deliver it almost 1/2 hour away. He's now contacting the 3rd person who was interested. What a pia to give something away.

I love it when you put right in the description, "I cannot help you move it or load it, bring help." Then they ask you to deliver it or in one case a 90 yo man couldn't get the riding mower on his truck and I had to help him lift it over the edge. My back was messed up for a month.

I know, right? Do they not read? Or they ask you a question that you've obviously already answered. Ever send an email with a couple questions and they reply and only answer 1 question? I've actually sent multiple emails to certain people with 1 question at a time.

Mike was just having a text conversation with one person who wanted the shelf unit and then the guy just stopped replying. Where'd he go? Aliens pick him up and cart him off?

Yes! It has not only happened, it is typical. Maybe they pick the easy one; maybe they only answer the only one they want you to know the answer to.

Or how about when they don’t address anything you wrote. I sent an email a while ago to the pres of a group when they asked past members why they stopped being members. I explained very clearly why I did. I even numbered my reasons with spaces between. Not a single one was answered. She just went on to explain in detail how that group works…the exact reasons I gave for quitting.

I don’t think she read my email.

Good morning Bea. Looks like it's going to be a rainy day here today, but at least it's going to be 70. I'll take that over the cold and rainy stuff we just left behind.

That's usually the type of reply I get when writing to my legislators. They just (maybe) count my contact as a pro or con on the subject and send out the form letter - like I didn't know the reason for contacting them in the first place. Arrrrrrrrgh!
