I'm going to try and squeeze in 450 on a 2 day split, 900 total miles or so .. since I gain my hour back on the trip home, I may shoot for a straight drive through ..

Making sure I pack the TENS unit since I'm thinking it will get some use ..

Yep, taking your TENS is a great idea and don't drive with your wallet in your back pocket. Also, not a bad idea to pull over once in awhile and get out and just walk around a bit. Relax and enjoy your adventure. You have family waiting.

Oh, and take your camera! You're a great photographer, what about putting a small album together? Of course that means you'll have to let someone take pictures of you too. (The photographer always gets left out fo the photos.)

Sheesh! That sounds like a mother giving her kid instructions like you've never taken a trip before! Sorry about that. My brain is in travel mode because I've got 2 trips coming up, one right after the other. I'm flying to SC to stay with my sister from 5/18-5/27 then from 5/29-6/12 we'll be at the NJ shore with our kids. The shore trip will require the most packing and what instructions to leave for the neighbor to take care of our cats and plants etc. It's a lot of preparing, but wonderful once we get to where we're going.

Morning, all.

Dang, a sunny day! Although said to be returning to scattered sun and random deluges later in the week. ;)

And lots of coffee!! 900 seems a bit much, figure with rest / gas / stretch breaks, 18 hours on the road. I have done that, but not for many years... you know, young and invincible.

My longest non-stop trip was from Philadelphia to Los Angelus. But there were two of us taking driving / napping shifts. Two things I'll always remember about that trip.

1. Someplace in St Louis, I think, we stopped for fuel. At the other pump was a full size well used Lincoln Continental. There was a big 'ol colored lady sitting in the 'back seat' driving it. The front seat was removed. And when I say big, she was really big when she got out to fuel the car.

Nope that's not the point of the story. Sam and I stopped in Tucson, AZ for fuel. While filling up his Mustang, yep, that lady in the back seat of her Lincoln pulled in to get gas too. Holy Cow, how was she doing it. There were two of us sharing the driving and she was all by herself.

2. Some place driving across the desert at night, I must have been tired enough to not realize I still has the high beams on as I was following and catching up to a semi-trailer truck. He was doing he speed limit so I passed him. Can't do the speed limit in a Mustang at o-dark-thirty in the middle of the desert.

Anyway I think I ...... him off. He turned on his high beams and got about 6 inches behind my rear bumper. I think we did about 80-85 mph for a few miles before he decided let me go and backed off. It sure was uncomfortable thinking 40,000 pounds of vehicle was about to run me over or off the road.

UHaul. Yeah, rental car rates have been in the news, and at least some people in the last report I saw, in Hawaii, iirc, rent UHaul trucks...

Good morning David. Bright and sunny here today, but it's only going up to 64 and there's more rain in the forecast for tonight. I hope the flowers are happy about that.

Ok Willie, if you get a scooter we're going to need a picture of that...
