My son didn't mention a gift registry.

I did not want to trust cash. Cards can get "lost" going through the mail. Well, I have done it a $20 but for the amount I sent It would be difficult to replace if it did get lost.

Yeah, I don't send cash, either. Usually a check or gift card for somewhere I know they shop.

Yep, no registry, no idea!:lol:

Howdy everybody! It was another interesting day with the wild child. He is so cute, and very funny. Tonight, while wasting time on the way to bed Brody looked at me and asked if I was still on my diet. I said yes. "Does that mean you're going to die?" Never occurred to me that he didn't know what a diet was.

Yesterday the big equipment came into the back yard of the house behind our daughter's house and they proceeded to take down 3 very tall, very healthy looking trees. Why would anybody take down perfectly good trees? They already took down the ones in front of their house. Why move into a neighborhood with lots of lovely tall trees and then cut them down? It probably would have cost them a fortune, but someone in the family is in the business. So sad.

Getting ready for the heat wave this weekend. Ugh! We'll go to the soccer game in the morning and then head home. This house is kept at 68 so I'm freezing half the time, but upstairs is pretty warm. It's a shame the kitchen isn't up there or I'd bribe Brody to stay up there with me all day.

Good morning, group.
How are you doing? Did I miss an update about your surgery? Just wondering. Not trying to be nosy.

Thanks for asking and no, I didn't give an update. Didn't think it would really interest anyone. It went fine and my vision in that eye did improve, so thankful for that. Next one is done on the 8th. Amazing what they can do with lasers these days.

I am so glad that everything when well. I went through it with my parents and the only thing I remember them complaining about was all the eye drops. Even though it is a procedure performed all the time, it is still a little scary. Eyesight is so important. I will be glad when your next one is over. Hope the peeper keeps getting better every day.

    Good morning!

I am sipping coffee, trying to get in gear for the day. I fell asleep on the couch last night after dinner and slept for almost 12 hours! Good grief, I haven’t slept that long in AGES. I feel a little guilty for being such a slug, but oh well. My back isn’t too happy about it, but hopefully it will forgive me after breakfast and a couple of Aleve.

I have yard work on the agenda today, and I dread it. It’s gonna be hot, and dusty because we haven’t had much rain lately. I think we may have some rain chances tomorrow…we sure need it. I have some phlox in a concrete planter on my front deck. I forgot to water it and I think it may be toast now. I really shouldn’t be allowed to have plants…there should be a poster of me in every lawn and garden center and plant nursery in the county so they know not to sell me anything. LOL

I hope you all have a great Saturday!

I made up for you and overwatered the plants. I think I killed the zucchini.

    Morning, all.

Dang, another sunny day here! But still on track to be in the "top ten" of coldest and wettest May on record. I think we're at 8 for wettest, and may get close to second.

Why move into a neighborhood with lots of lovely tall trees and then cut them down?

Uh, so they can cut the grass?? Or maybe concerns that, even though appearing healthy, they were not, or other concerns about them some day falling on the house? Or maybe just that they should have stayed in the city!

Bless your heart. You must have really needed it or do you have the world's most comfy couch?

Oh never in the mail. Sorry, I did not know you were mailing it. I thought your son lived close to you. BTW, how is the little precious angel doing? You need to practice giving updates Grandpa. hint, hint View attachment 974972
I wish they lived closer. They live in the Houston area and I live in Oklahoma City. I used to drive there for Thanksgiving, and they would come up here in the summer. I just can't drive that far anymore.

Children can get mixed up at times and not grasp what we take for granted. I remember one time my folks decided to set foggers in the house to kill the creepie crawlers. I don't know how old I was but my dad referred to them as bombs. He loaded us all in the car and we went to his dad's house to wait while he bombed the house. I was upset because I couldn't take all of my toys. As we were driving off, I stood up in the backseat watching the house waiting for it to blow it up. They never told me what really was happening.

I don't sleep in my bed much. Usually, I fall asleep at my desk or recliner while reading.

Some of us can sleep anywhere.

    OMG! She is a cutie.

I went to Sam's yesterday and got a chicken. I did loads of yard work today so after my shower, I deboned the chicken and now I have a pot of chicken and noodles on the stove. That will last me quite a few days. While I was at Sam's I also picked up a watermelon, so I'll go in and cube it up for dessert or to snack.

Diver, that little one is precious. I've never looked that cute in my flamingo pajamas.

I am sorry they do not live closer but thank goodness for photos and video calling. Remember Bell's long distance phone slogan? it's the next best thing to being there.

How about you treat us to a little video clip .. ?? :thumb:

No video ... you'll have to settle for a collage. Katie just sent this to me from the collection of pictures I took during the game.

My couch IS pretty comfy, but those 12 hours weren’t all on the couch. Hubs woke me up with the TV blaring once, so I went to bed. Then his snoring woke me up around 3 a.m. and I made my way back to the couch! It’s good to have options, I suppose.

I paid for it last night…I didn’t think I would ever get to sleep. I finally did, but thunder woke me up a few times. I’m not complaining though - we REALLY needed the rain!
