Morning, misfits.

Sun continues, although the next rain has been rescheduled from the weekend to Thursday.

All I know from monkey pox is it's related to small pox. I do have worries about anything like small pox running loose in a largely unprotected population.

Do they not routinely give small pox vax any more? I know I've had mine, many many moons back. Monkey pox, well, pretty much needs skin to skin contact for transmission, so I'm not much concerned about it. (Yet?!)

That sounds like what my wife had many years ago. Her rotator cuff was torn and she described it as feeling like shards of sharp glass. She had to do PT first too. They ended up doing surgery. She had several bone spurs in the joint. Those were the reason for the broken glass feeling she had.

It seems like surgeons always want folks to do PT before going under the knife. IDK, maybe PT helps some people and prevents some surgeries.

Wishing you and your husband good luck! :)

Thanks! They did an MRI on his shoulder, but never mentioned any bone spurs. Of course, I don't know much about MRI's so maybe they didn't see them if they weren't looking in just the right area? I'm going with him to his appointment so I plan to make sure he at least brings it up with the doc.

Just my understanding, but I think they discontinued it years. You know, the disease doesn't exist outside of a couple of of labs.

Lemme tell you a story. When I was in the army, my medical records became lost, and they had to get my immunizations up to date. Now, after the small pox vax, they check for a skin reaction to make sure it worked. Since I was already immune - no reaction. Army solution: keep giving the vaccination till they got a reaction. Over and over again. In 1967, I could have survived any kind of epidemic.

Could be. Yep, vaccines work. Maybe us old farks will be ahead of the game on this one, since it's related :)

It is difficult for me to express how saddened I am regarding the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Texas. My heart goes out to the families of those precious little lost lives. It actually makes me feel physically sick that something like this keeps happening. What kind of world are we now living in?

It is sad. It should anger every single American that this is allowed to continue in our country.

To be very clear... this isn't a "world" problem. It is a problem that is unique to the USA. As of today there have been 201 mass shootings in America so far in 2022. 27 school shootings. And it's only May!

My grandfather used to say “the world is going to hell in a hand basket” when he’d see things on the news that upset him. If he were still alive to see things like this going on, he would probably say the journey is over, and we have arrived at our destination. :(

Rock and roll is here to stay ...

odd ... for 'me' in my original post the video I linked to doesn't show up anymore. It did when I first posted it. But if I quote the post it does show up. This happens with both the Chrome and Safari browser.

Do others see the video in the original post?

This is creepy. When I made my 2nd posted quoting my first one, the video link showed up in the quoted part of the post. Now when I go back to look at it ... it too is gone!.

I even quit and restarted my browser ... but that made no difference.

    Morning, bohemians.

Clear and sunny, not. Tomorrow's rain came in overnight, but they did seem to get the temp part right, barely into the low 60s.

Went back and checked, still there, and in your self quote. Firefox, latest rev., Windows.

Smallpox vaccines can protect against monkeypox. The U.S. has 100 million doses in the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS).

Smallpox vaccines can protect against monkeypox, and U.S. has 100 million doses

:thumb: Looks like those of us born before 1980 might be protected, then :)

    Hola .. :(

Whenever there is a National Tragedy, another mark of shame against us collectively, the usual platitudes are spouted .. we've heard it all before, way too many times ..

In time, our collective memory fades as we move on to the next news cycle .. and, with each new event, we grow more immune to the hurt ..

The shame is on us ..
