Morning, all.

Must be the weekend, since the "weekend rain" is here... :) At least we don't have to water the gardens.

One thing he told and showed me was that the motor bearings are showing wear.

Odd, that. How did he access the bearings, which are generally internal to the end caps... In any event, if and/or when that time comes, just get all the data off the name plate and swap it your self.

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
Hola .. :)

About 2 years ago, I had a large tree taken out and had the stump ground .. I let the area sit until maybe March this year and started the process of reseeding .. the tree guys really did a number on my yard in general, with the cherry picker, fork lift, etc, so I tilled up the whole area, added peat moss, high nitro fertilizer ..

Back in March, April and early May, the rains came and all was well .. now, it's hot and the rains have stopped, so, I've been going out there and hand sprinkling it in order for the new grass not to fry ..

This morning, I finally broke down and got a good sprinkler and refurbed an old hose I had so I could let that do the job as needed ..

In a normal year, I just don't care if the grass goes dormant in the heat, but I'd put too much labor into this project .. yet, I hate to see what my water bill is going to look like .. last months only went up $10 bucks, but I'm sure it will be more on the next one ..

At any rate, I watched that sprinkler work and moved it till I got the right coverage spot .. and, I was reminded of my Dad, when I was a kid, watering the yard and me playing in the sprinkler .. :)

Simple things ..

Oh, and BTW, the Farmers Tan is coming along nicely ..

Yeah, nice memories. For us, my older brother and I, it was us watering, and Dad playing in the sprinkler ;) (Nah, not really)

Here, the grass is on it's own. Although it might not go brownish until August! Flowers and veggies will get their due, though. And a lot of those scattered on our 2 1/2 acres!!

Yep Google to the rescue.
Well, I pulled out my last spare tank and couldn't see any spare. If I put any away I'll find them when I move. And I'm not planning on moving. I made an order with fast tech. I got free shipping so I'm happy about that. I wonder what I will get this time, gaskets, or pet supplies. And to add insult to injury. My Tab521 Ohm Reader crapped out on me. It will have to wait until after I get my SS check to replace it.

Morning, misfits, and happy Saturday.

Rain continues. Seems we might break the June precip record before the weekend is done.

Mine have usually been "electronic filters." :)

Gosh, I am going to take a couple of days off again. It was nice coming back and having several things to read. See, when I stop my fingers, it gives y'all a chance.

Just as an update, dad is doing much, much better since he had his two falls (thank goodness). I have a herniated disk and when I start getting those little spasms in my back, I decide real quick to take it easy. I cannot afford to be out of commission because I have no one to help with dad or me for that matter. I have warned him that he is no longer allowed to fall twice in one day. We will see if the stubborn man listens to me.

I absolutely loved the mermaid story Willie. Things like that can mean so much. I loved the mermaid piece. I did not see anything like that when I was at Myrtle last October. That was a good find.

Well, the bad news is that I think I will have to replace the fan motor in the condenser. With the discount, it will be $900 before taxes. Get a little bit ahead and life happens. If anyone wants a shoot 'em up bang bang I recommend "Nobody". It does have a cute kitty in it. Well, on to some more reading in the sweat box. The attic fan helps some. I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Hola .. :)

Some of you may remember that last August I made the pilgrimage to Myrtle Beach to connect with my Aunt Anita and other family members that had been lost to me since I was 4 years old and of which, I had no memories of .. the story is long and convoluted, so I'm not going back into that ..

As I was in Myrtle Beach, I spent the better part of a day on the 'strip', visiting various things, browsing shops, people watching, etc .. as my Auntie is 91 now, she had no inclination to join me and the other Cousins / Spouses had other plans .. they wanted to lay out on the beach, go figure .. o_O

At any rate, I wanted something to take back with me as a souvenir, and not really something kitschy or cheesy .. no small feat in a Tourist Town .. finally, I was drawn to a cast iron Mermaid wall decoration that did not cost a ton, so I bought it ..

As I prepared to leave Myrtle Beach at the end of my stay, my Auntie hands me a large glass jar full of shell fragments and says, 'I picked these up myself years ago over time and they all have a purple color in them somewhere .. take them and think of me' .. so, although I appreciated the gesture, I thought it was kind of odd, but oh, well ..

The cast iron Mermaid ended up sitting on a shelf in my garage, since I could never figure out where I wanted to hang it and it really did not go with much of anything in my Modern Decor scheme .. the jar of shell fragments sat on my kitchen counter, so every time I saw it, I thought of Anita ..

Those are some beautifully preserved memories…you’re so talented!

Glad your dad is doing better! I hope your back is feeling better, too. Back problems are (quite literally) such a pain. We don’t realize how much we need our various body parts until they start giving us trouble!

Geez, it's Sunday morning and I realized I haven't been around ECF since the beginning of last week. So over coffee I did some catching up.

Rat, glad to hear your Dad is doing better.

Diver, bummer about the air conditioner. But in these days it basically a must have. I grew up w/o air conditioning and don't know how I survived my youth without it.

Fran, congrats on 12 years. Nice milestone to hit.

Willie, fine job combining the wood, Mermaid and your Auntie's shell collection. Looks great.

Beckett also 'graduated' from Kindergarten this past week. He won an award for the best paleontologist for not only his knowledge of dinosaurs but passing it along to his classmates.

And big Brother Miles congratulating him.
