Hola .. :)

Couple straight days of some decent rain, grass is growing gangbusters ..

Of course, humidity is way high, so if you're outside, you 'Wear the Air' ..

On the topic of solar yard lighting .. I still have a nice run of the old school 12 volt in the front and another set mounted on my deck posts in the back .. have to remember to keep a good supply of bulbs on hand, since bulb longevity is never a given ..

Over the years, I've gone thru quite a few solar units, those early generation ones just did not last for crap .. sure, you could replace the battery, but the solar cell always got weak / dirty .. so, by the time you'd replace the battery and polish the cell, you might as well just get a new one ..

These newer generation units seem to be much improved ..

I run two fountains in the back and I like having the deck dimly lit as well as spotlights on some plants, etc .. when I go out there at night, it feels more like a magical place ..

I'm sure the mosquitos feel the same ..

Would you mind if I sat in your backyard for a couple of days? I am in need of a vacation (and a magical place).

Of course, with two fountains, I would need restroom privileges.

All jokes aside, I bet it does look wonderful. I dream of creating a place like that one day.

Here, not much difference between the "old" ones and the new. Two hours of sunlight, on a sunny winter day, just doesn't cut it. batteries will go to under voltage in about a week, if not sooner.

When I was a kid living on the farm I didn't have to walk barefoot through the snow 5 miles to the school. We didn't have no dang school.

Lucky. For me, it was uphill both ways :)

Scheduled rain is late, but does seem to be likely. And they're talking lots of it for the next couple days. At least I did get the grass shorter, yesterday.

Heat wave a comin' .. petrol at the pump touched $5.89.9 this AM and then dropped back to $5.29.9 .. I never figured filling up my 5 gallon mower gas can would run over $25 clams ..

'I'll take this soda and a bag of ice, and give me $280.00 on pump #3 ..'

That 5.9% Social Security bump at the first of the year that I thought was so nice, now makes me feel like somebody in charge needs to re-visit that ..

Should have saved those stimulus checks as I could use a little financial stimulation right about now ..

Liquor stores are probably doing well .. and, the Weed Shop had a line out the door earlier ..

It was a beautiful day here (yesterday). In the 80's but a wonderful breeze that almost felt like being at the beach. Wish I was there right now.

Took two walks today and did all the trim work and edging after supper. My phone said I walked 8.9 miles today. Would have been further but it got dark on me and I can't read my phone and walk in the dark without getting dizzy. That is so weird.

    surgery is done
So glad those procedures are over with and the peepers are doing great. I feel the same way when I put on contacts. After 61 years of wearing glasses, it just feels weird. I only put on contacts for special occasions. I have not worn them in a while. heehee

I am so looking forward to cataracts. My doctor says he will be able to get me better vision. I have never had 20/20.

    Morning, lizards.

No basking in the sun out here, as in "what is a sun?" :w00t:

While it did take its time getting here, once it did it settled in for a serious drenching, nearly 1 1/2 " since yesterday morning. Don't need to water the gardens today :) That gets us to 2.65" for the month, and our June average is just under 2...

    Hola .. :)

I personally know 4 plumbers .. one of them since he was a kid .. trying to get a nagging drip fixed on an outdoor faucet .. each of these guys says 'Sorry, Willie, booked up for a couple weeks ..' .. well yes, I know it's a small job but I'm not asking you to do it for free, facryinoutloud ..

Finally, this morning, watched a couple YouTubes, dissected the durn thing myself, went to Lowes and got what I needed .. put it back together, voila .. $5.00 in parts ..

Probably saved at least $75-100 clams ..

    Winning ..
