52 years ago today, Janet and I became Mr. & Mrs. I still remember a couple of the basic ground rules she laid out. 1. I don't get up and make you breakfast. 2. I don't iron shirts. There might have been more but these were at the top of the list.

Four doctors walked in this morning and said they were going to keep him one more day. After their conversation with me, he is being discharged today. One of the doctors that have been dealing with me the last two visits told the others that I was more than capable of caring for him at home. He was quite impressed with the medical records I showed him. See? Being .... has its advantages. (along with a few not so good) heehee

Oh well, I just thought I would give you an update. I appreciate y'all for reading about me and dad. I know it is not something important to you but it is a big part of me and has been all my life. At some point, I can promise you that I will not be able to share what is going on with me. You will not want to know. View attachment 976826heehee

I am going to give them a little longer before I go to the desk and ask them if it is okay for me to remove his cath and monitors to help them get him discharged. I am quite the little helper and I am in git-r-done mode. If you do not hear from me, don't worry. I am probably still sleeping or singing in the shower. bahahahahaha
I also care.

Congratulations.

Last night I was brought to tears. All the talks about headphones got me thinking about the set I have and how much I paid for them. I went to Amazon and did a search of my purchases. I had forgotten that I had bought a second pair to give to my daughter for Christmas. After searching the house, I found where I had hidden them. I thought I had cried all I could but apparently not. I know that tears will and do happen, it is all a part of the grieving process.

I hope everyone had a good Monday. Take care.

Awww, I'm so sorry. Yes, I know it can hit you hard, sometimes when you least expect it. Just let it out. Our brains and hearts need time to handle all the feelings. Wish we lived closer, I'd give you a big hug.

I had a doctor's appointment that my daughter couldn't get off work for. My grandson went with me instead, and he doesn't particularly like to drive. So, I drove a car for the first time in 3 months. It was great!

Thank you everyone for the anniversary wishes. That was very nice.

We went out for an early dinner at the Olive Garden. Now I know why people go in the afternoon. The smaller versions of the meals are just right. We don't feel overly stuffed and didn't bring home half the food that was served. Sometimes those leftovers work out well, but most of the time it's never as good heated up. Lasagna is a notable exception.

I sure am glad that I'm on flex time (retired). My plans for the day were shopping and renewing tags on my Dodge. I got in my Jeep and bang, dead battery! Oh well, I put it on the charger. I can do the shopping and visit the DMV tomorrow. I wanted to stay home and watch stupid movies and get caught up on Westworld anyway. I hope everyone has a good day and may it go as planned.

Hola .. :)

One word :: Breadsticks ..

I just got to the point some time ago that I saw no reason to drag the leftovers home .. they just generally ended up trashed anyway ..

Morning, all.

Didn't break into the 70s yesterday, same today. Good weather for outside work, might even light off the latest debris pile later today. Bans will be coming soon, so, yeah, that's the plan. And we all know how well that works.

    Hola .. :)

Is that the sound of crickets or are you all just getting suntans .. ?? :p
Probably got a tan without trying. I had to patch the fence where Charali got into the other yard with my dd's giant dog. They collided and I am lucky he didn't get his neck broken. I am tired now.

    Hola .. :)

Just been busy chasing down my Fedex Delivery. This could be a long story with diversions.

A couple weeks ago Biden started threatening Winchester to stop selling surplus ammo made at the Lake City, Utah facility.

Background. The Lake City facility is owned by the US Government and currently Winchester has the contract to run it and produce all the ammunition for the US Military. To make some extra money and to keep the cost down for the Government's production. Winchester runs extra shifts and sells the surplus at retail. This allows them to buy in even 'bigger bulk' the raw supplies to keep the cost lower for the Governments supply.

Well, it's good ammo made to Milspec standards so a couple weeks ago I bought a case from a place in TN. The shipped it 'Adult Signature Required' using Fedex ground. No problem I've done this many times before, except this time it was to arrive last Friday and I wasn't going to be home.

So, I used Fedex's Delivery Manager feature on their website and had the package diverted to a Fedex store in town about 10 minutes from me.

Friday morning I get and email at 8am from Fedex saying the package is on the truck and expected delivery by end of day. Keep in mind the Fedex ground depot is 20 minutes from my house and 15 minutes from the Fedex store (a full service Fedex store, not retail store that handles Fedex shipments, a real Fedex facility). Friday afternoon I get another email from Fedex saying the shipment is delayed and will be delivered by 'next Wednesday'. What the heck, a 3 day delay for a 15 minute ride!!! Ok I'll wait it out.

Saturday morning at 8am I get an email from Fedex saying the package is on the truck, out for delivery by end of day. Saturday afternoon another email saying package is delayed, will be delivered next Tuesday. What????

Monday morning at 8am I get a Fedex email, package is on the truck out for delivery by end of day. Monday afternoon another email saying it's delayed and will be deliver Friday. A full week from the original delivery date.

I go the the Fedex store ... they can't tell me ....e about where my package is or when it will be delivered. The also claimed they don't have a telephone number to give me for the Fedex ground depot to call them to find out what's going on. Come on ... they must have that number.

I call 1-800 Fedex support ... (no one there speaks good English) and I get nothing but a run-around with no satisfaction. Only suggestion is to call back if I don't have the package by Thursday.

Tuesday morning at 8am I get a Fedex email, package is on the truck, out for delivery by end of day. Tuesday afternoon, another email, package is delayed, will be delivered Thursday. I go to the Fedex Store again an inquire about what the F is going on. I get nothing from the clerks other than to call 1-800 Fedex support.

Another call to 1-800 Fedex support, this person speak English a tab better. I told the package is being refused. What??? Who's refusing it, I've didn't and I've never had a Fedex driver at the house or a note left or anything. and I get the issue escalated with a real Case# and a promise that since it now has a case number it will definitely be tracked.

Wednesday morning at 5:25am I get an email, package on truck, out for delivery by end of day. Hold on now, coming to the climax. At 8am I get a phone call from William at the Fedex Ground depot saying the store is refusing to take the package. He was alerted to my problem because I actually got an official case started last night. He asks, do I want him to hold it at the depot for me to pickup or should he have the driver deliver it to my house. No brainer decision for me. I know where it is now. I said hold it there, you're 20 minutes from me, I'll come pick it up.

Still mighty tee'd off so tonight I call 1-800 Fedex support to register a complaint. Turns out the Fedex store I had it redirected to won't accept 'Dangerous Packages'. I knew they won't handle Hazmat packages but Ammo isn't Hazmat. Seems it's up to individual stores to accept or reject 'Dangerous Packages' depending on their insurance and training by their employees.

All I know is that Fri, Sat, Mon, and Tues the driver tried to drop it off and the store refused to take it. Someone should have called me, either the store, the driver, or the Fedex Ground depot. And, the Fedex website should not have allowed me to redirect the package to be held there. I even got a confirmation email indicating it would be held there.

Good morning, All. I've not been sleeping lately, so when I do get to sleep, I really hate it when something stupid wakes me up. I don't really know what time I went to sleep; however, I do know what time I woke up. As usual, I had fallen asleep at my desk, and I woke up when my chair fell over and gave me a big goose egg on my forehead. The thing I really hate about it is a real challenge getting up in the small area behind my desk chair and recliner.
I'm going shopping when the stores open. I'm a bit tired but I'll be up to par layer on. I just need to get my coffee level topped off.
