Morning, all, and happy Sunday.

Which may or may not make an appearance here, although it seems most of the rain will be north of us. Darn it. Hoses waiting....

Mike is proof that the saying is true: The more space you have the more you need. I don't think he's found an empty space yet that he didn't fill.

Well, that, and not moving for many years. It all adds up :)

Hi, Lizards - I hope you all are having a good Sunday so far!

I went to the grocery store this morning, did a bit of cleaning, then had a nap. I have been useless ever since. I did start some laundry, so I guess that’s something, but not much. We had a couple of heavy downpours, but the sun popped back out and now it is unbearably hot and soupy. I can barely even tell it rained because the puddles are already drying up.

Hubs is so bored that he’s cleaning out the closet in his “office”. It sounds like he’s tearing down the walls, but I’m staying outta there so he won’t try to put me to work.

Laundry day here, too. That means, tonight is ironing night.

Good morning. Yesterday felt more like the 4th of July. We spent the day with family in their beautiful pool. The boys were all there and had a blast. They were asleep within 5 minutes of their car ride home. Fireworks were going off everywhere on our hour drive home. Wonder if there will be any left for tonight.

Laundry day here, too. That means, tonight is ironing night.

Ironing? I gave that up many years ago. As a kid I remember bringing the clothes in from the clothesline, sprinkling them with water and rolling them up into a heavy plastic bag my mother put in the bottom of the old "garage fridge". Then we'd take them out for a fun evening of ironing EVERYTHING! I asked her once why she felt it necessary to iron Dad's T-shirts. "So they look nice in the drawer." She did draw the line at ironing the sheets but I couldn't get her to stop ironing my bras. She was a very smart woman except when it came to ironing.

Morning, all, and have a safe 4th!

Dang, I hope she didn't starch them!! :w00t:

Maybe some showers today, but probably, like yesterday, north of us. But still cool (about 10 - 15 below normal, depending on location around the Sound) and humid, so maybe avert some firework fires... :nun:

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
@Uncle Willie Never heard of a Heath Kit. I was more interested in playing baseball, climbing trees and riding my bike everywhere.

Hola .. :)

Well, yes, Janet .. I had a semi-normal childhood as well .. I built the Heath Kits in my 30's .. :)

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
I'd begun to suffer a chronic case of Cabin Fever over the last week or so .. yesterday, a friend and I decided to hit Fair St Louis, formerly known as the VP Fair .. I had not been for a few years, of course they did not have it for the last 2 years .. it's a far cry from what it used to be .. no longer at the Gateway Arch grounds ..

I thought back to the old days and all the entertainment I had seen or worked for at the event .. Smokey Robinson, Glenn Campbell, 4 Tops, Temptations, Fleetwood Mac, Shania Twain, Van Halen, John Mellencamp, Sheryl Crow and more .. there was not a single band or singer there that I had any interest in listening to ..

We then hit one of the local Casinos for a few hours .. I was up $200 and then they took most of it back .. I did, however, walk out $20.00 to the good .. discipline .. ;)

She then suggested we hit Texas Roadhouse for dinner .. I said 'I can't stand Texas Roadhouse, the food is OK but it's always so damned loud on weekend evenings' .. I still caved and yes, it was even louder than normal, and, to top it all off, there had to have been at least 6 birthdays going on .. where the employees gather up, the birthday person sits on a small wooden horse as they bellow out birthday wishes and yell 'yee ha' at the top of their lungs ..

I could not finish my meal ..

At least I got out of the house ..

Should have worn earplugs to dinner.

    79 yo today.
After a day (or more) of amateur fireworks, the Expert got a hand in with an hour and a half of serious lightning and thunder beginning around 4 AM. 77˚ at 7 AM, so I expect it will get pretty warm by end of day.
    Happy Birthday, Pete :) :bday:
