Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th. Pretty quiet here and that is okay with me.

I was saddened to read about the shooter at that parade in Illinois. What is even sadder is I was grateful that was all that happened yesterday. After the terrorist attacks in the past and the open borders catching only a few on the terrorist list (15 of the 42 in May alone), special holidays scare me that something else will happen.

Dad did not want to grill out.

He wanted Brunswick Stew. If I ever turn down a T-bone, I will be at the point where a cognitive assessment is necessary.

I wish I could see improvements in his health. Of course, he is much happier at home than he was in the hospital. (I am too) I hate not letting him move around on his own but it is well worth it to prevent any falls if at all possible.

I am keeping up so far but I miss you guys. (I do not feel the need to be politically correct) heehee Hope everyone is happy and healthy and staying cool.

79 yo today.
After a day (or more) of amateur fireworks, the Expert got a hand in with an hour and a half of serious lightning and thunder beginning around 4 AM. 77˚ at 7 AM, so I expect it will get pretty warm by end of day.

Happy Birthday!!!!!

I just got out of a hot shower. Sounds trivial? We haven't had hot water for about 2 weeks.

No more cold, cold showers! It was heavenly.

Sounds like you're doing great! Does at least one of your docs have a list of all the meds you're taking? Sometimes the docs order meds not realizing what other meds you're already taking. It's good to evaluate that regularly.
Yeah, I know. That can be very dangerous. That's why I always take a list of what meds I'm taking when I go to any doctor.

How wonderful that your grandson gets to take you for a walk! That's a very important job and isn't it nice to have some "you and him" time together? I find the grandkids are so different when it's one on one and it creates memory days for you both.
My grandsons are wonderful! It's amazing the difference between kids in a group and a kid alone.
Hola .. :)

You're a good writer .. grab some paper or a keyboard and write .. it's surprising how cathartic that single activity can be ..
It takes me a lot of energy to write. But, it is a good idea.

I remember years ago, one night I had a terrible nightmare. There was no one awake to talk to. So, I wrote it down instead. It took care of the fear. But, what was amazing was how much more I remember of my dreams if I write them down.

Morning, lizards.

Probably not much sun to bask in today, overcast continues, but rain doesn't. But we're not baking like much of the rest of the country.

I bet!! Why was it gone so long?

Hola .. :)

All I need these days is a hose with a hand sprinkler .. plenty hot in a 100' hose, and when it starts to get cold, I can pretend it's a spa treatment .. o_O

These last 2 days have simply been brutal .. 115o heat index .. when you step outside, it's like walking into an oven .. central air unit runs non-stop .. fingers crossed I don't have an issue since the HVAC folks are likely booked solid ..

It's been about 2 years now since the Collective steered me to the Aegis / Zlide and/or Zenith tank and the Z-coils ..

In that time, I have used 34 coils .. I know this because I saved the used ones in an empty pill bottle .. I figured in the event of an Apocalypse, vape or otherwise, I would use one of those jewelry cleaner things in an attempt to get more life out of the old coils which @Uncle used to recommend .. needless to say, I have not yet attempted that ..

I kind of set the Zlides aside after I got some Zenith tanks from Mike .. I tend to like the Zenith tanks because you can change coils and leave any liquid in while doing so, and they hold a bit more liquid ..

At any rate, although I did buy 3 backup Aegis units, I still use my first one and have for the last two years .. it's looking kinda beat up these days, but still perfectly functional .. and, I like that beat up look .. ;)

My coil stash .. ?? I don't know, don't keep an inventory but certainly at least 8 'bricks' of packs, I think there are 10 packs in each brick ..

Yeah, I still carry a old EVOD pen style rig too .. but my battery supply is getting low ..

As far as the batteries for the Aegis, I only bought two originally and I am still using those same two in rotation .. I think they were Samsung ..

Winning ..

Good morning. 74 outside with a suffusion of rain outside. Didn't get much because the deck plants don't have water in their dishes. We could use a good rain because the lawns are getting crispy.

Mike is getting hearing aids today. Yay!! It's not nice when one person has HAs and the other doesn't. They have no idea how loud they're being or not hearing sounds they should. When he had his trial pair it was amazing how quiet the house was. No more shouting or slamming doors or not hearing the clicking noise of the turn signals when driving! It makes me crazy when people drive around with their turn signal blinking away. Now I'm thinking they need to put their HAs in! I stopped wearing mine because he was so loud, but once we're both wearing them things will be normal again.

I'm still using the same two Aegis Solo's from back when they came out and so is Janet. I have some spares, but these 4 are like a Timex Watch ... they just keep working. As to batteries. I used to be ..../meticulous about tracking the usage and age of batteries. That went by the wayside a few years ago. I'm guessing the batts in our mods are close to 5 years old and still holding enough charge to get through at least a day (although, not one is being used exclusively all day so if I did that I don't know how long a batt would last).

Morning, misfits.

Yesterday turned out to be a soggy one here, all the rain that was said to be north turned south. Happy to have gotten a bit over 1/4", didn't have to water the gardens. Or mow the lawn :) Maybe today on that. If it dries up enough.

IMO a reasonable approach. As long as the vaper isn't pushing them to their limits, so maybe not for those who chuck clouds. But for tootlers, ok. Rather than lasting "one day" (like you, many going, so any one isn't going to be the only one used daily), I figure if the battery still has some charge after vaping a tank full, they're still fine for my use.

Hola .. :)

I'm still getting 2 full days each on my batteries .. although I do still pack an EVOD so I'm not just using the Aegis .. but, my batteries are only 2 years old ..

I'm amazed at how robust these Aegis units are .. I think I could toss mine in a wood chipper and it would spit it out at the other end whole ..
