After the Roe/Wade decision, I'm pretty sure I went into some rant about 'If you get her pregnant and she must have the child, then the Father needs to somehow pay an immediate price if he is unwilling to step up and do what's right ..' After all, the woman has to spend 9 months and then another 18 or so years with the end result .. the negligent fathers must pay some price ..

I think I suggested vasectomies .. I'm a little unclear on that .. o_O

It's the 'Sound of Silence' around these parts lately ..

Well yesterday I power washed the upper deck and it's ceiling, the lower deck, both sets of deck stairs and then just for grins and giggles I did the concrete pad around the pool. I'm stepping back in time and declaring today, Sunday, a day of rest.

Morning, misfits.

I'm stepping back in time and declaring today, Sunday, a day of rest.

Yep, you deserve it after that! But probably felt good to get it done.

No such luck here, weed whacker has my name on it for the day. At least the grass has slowed down :) And I do want to get that done before they turn the thermostat back up...

We've got a hot and muggy day here today. I'm going to buy the deck paint and hope I can get some of it done very soon.

Hola .. :)

Aren't they all .. ??

I don't think he has any idea what he's doing. I've seen this behavior with 3 family members and given the dangerous world we live in it scares the ____ out of me. He chooses what advisors to surround himself with - a president has to because no one person knows everything. Wouldn't give you a plug nickel for his VP.

Sounds like a great plan until pregnant women suddenly have no idea who the father is. Bring on the dna if you can.

Good morning. Ugh! 82 outside with 74% humidity. Feels like walking into a sauna. We're supposed to get some T-storms later and I guess we could use he rain, but it's not feeling good for much outside work today.

I may run around the corner to our local bird store. At least 1 squirrel has figured out how to hang upside-down, lift off the hummer feeder lid, tilt the feeder and drink the nectar! Of course the spilled nectar drew ants and now we have ants inside the kitchen. It might be a good idea to try one of the jar-type feeders to see if that defeats the rascal.

Early yesterday morning I opened the deck door to put out some bird suet and there on the railing was a young raccoon! He didn't seem overly upset when I yelled at him, but he did finally amble off when I started banging a large squirt gun on the deck. Adorable little guy, but he needs to be adorable someplace else.

Now, Janet, if I did not know better, it sounds as if you are placing the blame fully on women .. I'm no woman, however, my respect for Womankind would indicate that a very high percentage of pregnancies, the woman knows exactly who the father is .. and yes, DNA tests would be mandantory ..

I'll take my points even further :: In States where there is no exception for rape / incest, then the father should be given the death sentence with no appeal ..

I don't live with POTUS Biden, so I cannot personally determine his mental capacity ..

However, I suppose we could equate that back to Ronald Reagan ..

Good morning, all. I don't really know if I should say morning or night. I fell asleep at my desk and just woke up. I've been doing a lot of reading not the fun reading but the dry reading of the fcc. I want to take the exam to get a higher license for my amateur/ham license.

Of course the spilled nectar drew ants and now we have ants inside the kitchen.
I don't think nectar drew in the ants. With the dry weather you have been having in your area, they are inside looking for water. I think it was Borax acid, my mom, w34400 would put down to kill the ants.

Sadly, though, the heatwave is back ::

And with that extra dose of humidity...

Born and intermittently raised in St. Louis (military brat growing up), still remember that condition. 90+ heat and 90+ humidity. No fun.

Just got finished painting the deck and stair railings. It's 90 degrees so the pool is starting to look like I should be in it.

Hope the ham license is easier than you think. Good luck.

You might be right about the ants, but there's a whole swimming pool to drink from. I'm sure the sun has taken care of any chlorine. And the Borax mixed with something sweet like honey takes care of the carpenter ants. I just put it in a bottle cap. Probably should try it for the sugar ants too.

Hola .. :)

Sunday was nice .. it rained off and on all day, so no pressing need to get outside and fiddle with the yard ..

Sadly, though, the heatwave is back ::

Ugh! Unless you want to fiddle with the yard in the evening I'd find things to do inside! We may hit 95 for a day or 2 in the next week, but I'm grateful it's not worse. It's 104 in London and Paris and only about 1% have AC. Yikes!

Yeah, the catch phrase these days is 'heat index' ..
