Good morning!
More rain and gloomy skies here in Mi. also .No snow..well...a couple of inches maybe three or four times this winter...kind of depressing, as the sun doesn't seem to want to shine either!
I can do without the snow but I sure would like to see sunny skies!
Hope everyone has a great day! :)

Well, I hate to say this (not really) but I was lazy all weekend. And you know what? It does not bother me one iota. I think the only productive thing I did all weekend was crank the car and truck to let them run for 15 minutes. I need to start driving them more but I washed them and it has been rainy so they have stayed in the garage.
RatYes.gif
I am not fond of car detailing or window washing. Actually, I am getting a pretty good list of things I do not like to do.

I am still on my extended vacation.

Where did the weekend go? Gosh, it went by fast. I guess time flies whether you are having fun or not. I have my eye exam tomorrow afternoon. I love my eye doctor. I always kid him because I don't think it is right that he does not wear glasses or contacts. heehee

I am also taking iron supplements because I am going to try to give blood again Tuesday. Hopefully, it will be high enough for me to donate. Fingers crossed.

Hope everyone has a good start to a great week.

Well, "Good morning all". I had one of those nights where I could only sleep a couple of hours at a time. grrrr But that's okay. It's morning, I woke up and it is going to be a good day.

Because I went out to eat with my aunt and cousin last night and ate way too much, I'm going to be at the gym as soon as it opens. heehee They chose my fav restaurant and you leave your willpower at the door as soon as you walk in and smell the place.

They have the best-fried pickles in town. The quesadillas were also quite tasty.

Hoping to see some sun today. YAY! Hope everyone has a good day!

Well, the sun was shining today and it was wonderful. Ended up getting over 14,000 steps in today. It was a little cool but I still let my jacket in the car. I wanted as much fresh air as I could get.

Although you all know it takes so little to excite me but I am going shooting in the morning. I can't wait. I'll see if I like my new ear protection. I like listening to music too much to be careless about my ears.

Great news! I went to the eye doctor today and he said I had the first stages of cataracts. YAY! That's what I have been waiting for. He told me not to get too excited because they were no were near being approved for surgery. But hey, I got em' started.

I wear contacts, and I told him my only complaint was having to have readers in every room in the house. He is letting me try a pair of multifocal contacts for a week and then I go back for a recheck. So far so good. He said to give it a couple of days for my brain to adjust to them and we all know it might take just a little longer for me.

I'll let ya know if the new contacts help my aim any. It can't hurt.

Everyone have a great nights rest and a lovely day.

I have to say, that's the first time I've known someone to look forward to cataracts.
Sorry, let me explain further. I have worn glasses for practically all my life (61 years). I had my eye operated on when I was 5 and I have never had 20/20 vision. The eye doctor said that I would be amazed at what the surgery can do for people and he says I will have 20/20 because the surgery will correct my problems. So I guess technically it is the clearer vision that I am looking forward to and the fact that Medicare (which I am also looking forward to) will pay for it. Years ago, I looked into paying for it myself and it was $10,000. No telling what it is today.

My mind does have a unique way of deciphering life's inconveniences. Believe me, that's the only reason I am still here.

I am so excited about shooting today that I hardly slept. I get to use my new ear protection, safety glasses, and shooting gloves. I pinched my finger last time, hence the gloves. I may not know what I'm doing yet but I darn sure look like I do. What out world. . . I'm locked and loaded (whether I'm packing or not). heehee

Good morning. It's a little nippy at 30 degrees this morning. Going up to 45 so that's not bad.

While Kate and Brian are away I was in charge of the boys. I successfully got them to their schools and home again yesterday. Got them fed, bathed and in bed by 8:00. Yay! I can still do this! When our kids were little I could handle all that stuff and then some and never battled an eye, but I'm WAY out of practice now. My fear of forgetting one of them is getting under control.

I thought the doc was nuts when she told me I needed cataract surgery, but turns out she was definitely right. I was nervous going for the 1st one, but couldn't wait to get the 2nd eye done! It's wonderful - didn't know what I was missing! I still have to wear glasses because I need a prism in my lenses due to thyroid eye disease, but it's shocking how much better my eyesight is now. I don't blame you for wanting to get it done.

Morning, misfits.

Claim is sunny and dry all day, and maybe tomorrow morning. We'll see...

If so, looks to be a few hours on the end of a rake, trying to gather up all the debris from weeks of storms.

Good attitude! Find the good and focus on that :)

Janet’s looking forward to me getting it done. She likes the changes so much since getting her eyes done. But the Doc says I just in the early stages and way too soon to consider it.

the new Top Gun on IMAX was very good.
Welcome back!

Someone just told me Sunday that it was good and they thought better that the first one. That's hard to believe but I'm going to have a movie night soon.

There is just so much young talent out there these days, it's simply amazing ::
Yes, there is and it is a wonderful thing. I wish I had some of it. I am not sure if it is my brain or fingers that will not move that fast. Truth be told. . . it is both!

Had a wonderful time shooting and I still cannot hit the "x". No matter where I aim, everything lands in the center of the man's chest on the target. Go figure.

My friend brought a Colt 45 and the same 9mm he brought last time. The Colt had just a little more kick to it but I like it. Too big for a cc but nice.

I took dad's 357 that he always kept in the bedside table. First time I had ever shot it and I liked it also. I asked my friend to shoot both the 357 and the Beretta first. I need to know how much kick it had so I would be prepared. He said the little Beretta would not put one in the chamber. I told him not to worry about it because it was not worth taking it to be fixed. When we got home he got out the new little cleaning kit I bought and showed me how to clean them. When he pulled back the slide on the Beretta, it worked beautifully. I'll take it next time and try again but only because I have a box of ammo for it. It is cute though. Sad but it would only agitate someone. I'm not meaning to agitate anyone if you know what I mean.

I would have loved to have shot some more but he got hungry and tempted me with fried shrimp at Capt. Bill's. What's a poor girl to do? I'll tell you what she does. She goes and feasts on shrimp.

I did not feel too bad about eating it because I walked 6 miles yesterday. The plan was to skip supper but my stomach was not in agreement. Boiled egg and oyster crackers to the rescue. heehee

Just an update on my blood donation attempt. I have given doubles since 2007 (yes, I keep a list). I am not sure if the iron supplements I have been taking helped the anemia but I was deferred because I did not weigh enough. Boy howdy. That's a first. Guess I will have to return to only giving singles because this o'l girl is not going to gain 10 lbs. (on purpose anyway)
No.gif

Sorry for the long a.m. post. I've been up since 4 and I'm chatty. Imagine that!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday.
