Just got back from grocery shopping and it's cold out there! At the moment it's 45 and the sun is shining, but the breeze makes it feel much colder.

When I went to the store I had a special request from our 4 year old grandson. He asked if I could get some dried up mangos. He means dehydrated, but from now on they'll always be dried up to me!

I think I am over the little stomach bug I have had. First time I have driven the porcelain bus since the time I tried to quit smoking on New Year's eve a long time ago. I chained smoked the last couple of hours and made myself sick as a dog. This was nothing compared to that time, thank goodness.

I guess it is not the correct way to lose weight but it has been nice not having an appetite the last couple of days. I got rid of my New Year's oinkfest poundage. YAY!

I have been home since Monday and this is a record for me since dad has passed. It has been sort of nice. I did hate missing the chicken pot pie at the church with Terry last night but I could not take the chance of passing it on to the older folks that go to the church dinners. Terry offered to bring me a plate but I would even let him do that. I am forever the professional caregiver. The Friday Dinner/Movie night I have been enjoying with my friend just got better. He is coming over and bringing all the stuff and is going to fix me supper. Gosh, that is going to be a nice change. He is fixing tacos which I happen to love. Again, it takes so little to excite me.

I went out on a mission today to find a Valentine's garden flag. I could not find one I liked but I did get an easter, a hummingbird, and one that has a parrot in a hammock saying it's 5 o'clock somewhere. Came home and got on the Amazonian and ordered a Valentine and a St. Patrick's day flag. I may be going a little overboard on my flags but they will last for several years. And guess what? I did not buy any shoes today. YAY me! I did look at one markdown spot but only halfway looked. I am waiting for the summer sandals.

Taco supper was delicious and I cannot tell you how much fun I had in the kitchen with him. I actually think he did too. I ended up helping some simply because I could not stop myself.

I got to use my new mandolin slicer thing I bought. It worked beautifully on shredding the lettuce and onions. He did everything else.

He picked the movie which I was sure would be a western. He chose Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven. I had never seen it and I really enjoyed it. He cuddled and fell asleep 2/3'rd through it (probably due to the 5 soft tacos he ate) but that was okay with me. I had a big bag of HotTomales and my tooter.

He did not want any dessert (there is a little something wrong with him) so after he left, I had a Snickers Ice Cream Brownie Bar and an RC Cola. That was an excellent ending to my night. (well, maybe second best) heehee

Oh, I received my cc in the mail today.

I am not complaining about the class costing $75 or the permit $97. But it looks like they could have at least laminated the darn card since it is good for 5 years. No biggie. I can do it myself or for not much, take it to Staples or Office Depot.

Just wanted to share my excitement (again). I just marked off something else on my long list of things I was told I could not do. On to the next.

To be honest, I pray I will never have to even take it out but just like my security system, it gives me peace of mind.

It makes me shiver just thinking about your cold weather. We had 8 below a couple weeks ago and it was weird I think the last time it was that cold was in 1985. Have not seen the first snowflake this year and if I don't, it will not bother me in the least. I am so ready for Spring.
