Another reason to stop the nonsense...

Several of our clocks set themselves via radio signal, the euphemized "atomic clock" ones. Yeah, atomic. As in AA. But the receiver does get the time tick from an atomic clock :) So at least I can use those, or my phone, of course, to know what to set 'em to!
My desk top tells me the time. Still, that leaves a "weather station", a watch, three alarm clocks, and one more in the car. How come I'm not getting paid for my time?

Hope everyone has had a great weekend. I did not want to but I had to go shopping yesterday. I did not want to but I had to buy a pair of shoes.
1Winking.gif

As I was walking through the store, I saw a shirt hanging up and I swear it was the exact color of my shoes so of course, I had to buy that too. I had a hotpink day! The kind that looks like you have to plug it in at night to charge. Got a bunch of other things too. I need to stay home more often.
1YES.gif

I tried to post a pic but it said it was too large. I have to figure out what to do about that.

I cannot believe last week I pressure washed the driveway in shorts and got hot and today I am about to freeze. I think I am going to have to get in the shower just to get warm.

With the way I sleep, I couldn't tell I lost an hour. I know it seems like I just changed the clocks in the car not too long ago and now it is time to do it again. Sheesh! It has been long enough that I forgot how and will have to look at the manual though.

Hope everyone has a good night. I am going to go get warm in the shower. (and start singing). heehee

Since I lost 34 lbs my clothes are hanging on me. Can't have that if I'm going to Key West! I did get a few tops from Marshall's and a pair of slip on shoes, but then I started looking at Amazon (think of all the gas I'm saving...) and ordered a beach coverup, a pair of jean shorts, a sun dress and a short dress. Since they made returns so easy I'll just order stuff, try them on at home and toss what doesn't fit in a box and drop them off. Saves me the aggravation of dealing with rude shoppers and having to drive between stores. I'd rather buy 2 pair of shoes that will go with most outfits and buy more outfits. Maybe I need to partner with you to go shopping!

Hola .. :|

I change my watch (yes, I still wear a watch) .. my weather station is on Atomic time, I don't care about the microwave or stove .. I do set the coffee machine ..

There is no reason for me to even have an alarm clock ..

I have hardly had a chance to get on my laptop all day.

Of course, I went to the gym but then I came home and got busy loading up the Honda with my first load of donations. I dropped it off and I have it loaded again. I think I will have to start using the truck so I can make even bigger loads and get this stuff out of here.

I know I have been putting this off and am glad I finally started but it is also a little sad. You collect so much stuff over the years and it comes down to someone stuffing it in a bag and giving it away.

My aunt said I should have kept dad's Keurig coffee maker so I would have a backup. I told her I would rather someone who loves coffee as much as I can buy it at the Thrift Store at a decent price. If mine breaks, I'll get another one so it is no big deal. I am also going to get rid of all the stuff that was bought to help dad. I know I will need it one day but I don't need it today and I am not going to store it. Someone who really needs it can have it.

Hope y'all have started a great week. Big hug to you all.

Oh, I think I learned to change the size of the picture on my phone with the ones that ecf said were too big. Remember the pink shoes and shirt I was telling you about? Is that pink or what? hot2.jpg I had to buy the shirt because it was the exact color. I think it will look cute with white capri pants.

Off to read and drift off.

My cousin buys some really cute things from a place online called Noracora. I easily found 15 shirts there last night but I think I would be happier finding them at the thrift store. At least that way I will know what they feel like and I can take them back if by chance they do not fit. I love that thrift store.

After tomorrow I might want to stay away for a little while because there is going to be lots of my stuff there and it will feel weird.

I will definitely go back to the Thrift store. They have such great prices and I'm always trying to save money. I just don't want to see my stuff again. Heehee

I still have so much to go through and pack up and get rid of. It gets so overwhelming. I wish I knew more people that could go through it and take what they want. I like giving stuff away.

Morning, misfits.

Rain continues here, although they claim it will back off some. About an inch yesterday.

After tomorrow I might want to stay away for a little while because there is going to be lots of my stuff there and it will feel weird.

That, any you might inadvertently buy it back!

Janet and Kaitlin have me hooked on Amazon. Sunday night around 8pm I ordered a new iPad ($50 less than the Apple store). It was delivered by 5pm on Monday. This morning I ordered a keyboard for it (also $50 less than the Apple Store) around 10:30am and it was delivered today around 3pm.

Amazing how they do that. And all from the comfort of my easy chair.

I don't usually join the conversations here, I do always enjoy watching the interactions. Sometimes, a seemingly small thing makes me come out of just reading. Congrats, Rat, you are todays winner. (can't get the smilies to come up for the confetti :) )

I lived through a pretty bad wreck a bit over a year ago. I haven't needed the stuff I bought to help me through the helpless period and my physical therapy for good long bit. I can't even give it away, and the secondhand shops around my area are loaded down with the same type of stuff. I think it's because most of it is covered by insurance of some sort.

I've told people I'm looking to rehome the medical supplies, and every single person has said, "you better save it, you might need it later". I'm ordinarily the person that saves big purchases, but medical stuff seems different to me. It's different than left over wood, yarn, thread, craft supplies (or that single screw you have left over when you put that kit together), where you'd be happy to reuse a stored item. Feels like if you keep it, you WILL use it again. I'm not really a superstitious person, but then again, I am in the medical profession, and have seen/heard about things people think are only a story, so there is that. :)

Things happen. I may need it later, but I don't live that way. I'm one of the oddballs too, and have finally come to terms with it. I'd rather give it away now, and have to rebuy, than to keep the bad juju in my house. But, sometimes you can't even give stuff away. Could take it for scrap, but that seems the opposite of what I want to do.

Anyway, good for you on giving stuff away, I do that too.

Well, if close to a "fulfillment center", and in stock there, might even get it delivered by drone ;)

Ruh roh! Maybe I should keep one of the 4 walkers just in case. And I did think about keeping the shower chair to help with shaving but decided as much as I like showers, I might fall asleep when I got tired of singing if I were too comfortable.

Okay, this sleep thing is getting on my reserve nerve! At least I slept a couple of hours this morning but I am moving rather slow.

I made 3 HUGE trips to the thrift store and I have made them so happy. I went yesterday afternoon with the third load and the woman asked me if I was the one who brought all the wood and baskets. I think they love me.
    1YES.gif

They are getting ready to open their third store and told me how much they appreciate my donations. It really made me feel good and like I was doing something positive. That makes it all worth it.

I took 15 black garbage bags of clothes so there is going to be one happy, 6'2" man that wears 2X tall shirts and 11 1/2 size shoes. I even had more of my mother's clothes and one bag of my summer stuff that no longer is wearable for me. Sheesh!

I was too tired to cut up lettuce last night so I called my aunt and asked her if she wanted to try Chick-fil-A's new cauliflower sandwich. I would never order it again myself. It looked like fried chicken but did NOT taste like chicken. It was edible. To counter my disappointment, I had a soft serve ice-cream cone which was quite enjoyable.

A weird thing happened last night also. Imagine that?
    1laugh.gif

I was taking my aunt's tray to the garbage can to clean up and all she had in her tea glass was ice and I got some of it. I know I should not crunch ice but anyway. Somehow I cut the roof of my mouth on it. I went through the parking lot spitting blood all over the place. Scared my aunt to death. I had to drive down the road with a napkin stuck in my mouth which I am sure people thought was weird. It took 15 minutes to get it to stop. This morning it is sore and there is a flap of skin on the roof of my mouth. I have never had that happen before. Just weird the things that happen to me. I am sure they happen to everyone but I think mine are pretty darn bizarre.

    Hola .. :|

Yeah, soon into the Pandemic, I became a devoted Amazonian, I had previously just made sure I had $25 bucks minimum order to get the free shipping and would periodically take a month or two of actual Prime .. when the Pandemic hit, I bought the year and have stuck with it ..

.. now, free fast shipping on a new iPad / Keyboard is one thing .. I mean, you did drop a little coin on that ..

What's amazing is ordering a toothbrush and getting it the next day with free shipping .. I'd like to know what kind of deal Bezos has with USPS ..

I'm not a corporate shill, nor do I play one on TV, but, if you look at the benefits of Prime in totality, it's one of the best deals going these days ..

In addition, I have a Prime Store CC linked to my purchases, so I get 5% back in reward credits on every purchase .. that 75" TV I bought a while back in and of itself, paid for a good portion of Prime for the next year in the 5% back ..
