    Thanks. :)

If I "miss" snow in the passes, I'll happy! I do expect "some" rain on the way, but that's a pretty normal condition. Hard to wrap one's head around him hitting 101... :)

On the road in a little bit.

Good morning. It's a beautiful sunny day here, but only 27 when we woke up. Going to 52 so as long as the wind stays away it should be a lovely afternoon.

The contractor is coming today to do some measuring and possibly bringing in some drywall etc. Tomorrow morning starts the demolition. I love that part!! He's removing 2 walls that will open up the play room and living room and that will make the foyer look bright and open too. Then he'll drywall the living room and paint. Kate painted the brick fireplace int he living room flat black and it looks stunning. I'll have to post a picture when the work is done.

Yesterday she let the boys color all over the wall to be demolished. They thought it was great fun, Now to keep the youngest grandson from also drawing on the other walls and furniture...

Better run upstairs and get dressed. Don't want the contractor coming in while I'm still in my pj's.

Chilly, but another sunny, beautiful day here. It was so pretty yesterday that I did not even take the day off from walking since the gym was closed. I read my book and got my 10,000 steps, walking up and down my driveway for a couple of hours. I used to walk on our dead-end street but the rough road plays havoc on my shoes so I like walking on cement.

Since I am no longer dating my friend Terry, I have missed his sister and her husband. Yesterday, she wrote to me and said she missed me too. She invited me to meet them at a restaurant here that I dearly love and have not been to in forever. I am so looking forward to it. My normal Monday healthy eating has been postponed until tomorrow.

I know one is traveling, but where the heck is everyone else? I get lonely you know. heehee Not really. I am really good at entertaining myself.

I met a couple for supper at a restaurant that I have not been to in a very long time. They still have the best teriyaki chicken I have ever put in my mouth.

It was wonderful going out with someone other than my aunt and cousin. They wanted to know if I would come down to their house next time to go to some of their favorite places to eat. I can GPS my behind anywhere so I am looking forward to it. I love eating and it makes me so darn happy.

I bought another Coolfire Z80 (my 3rd). I got it today and was so excited that I filled it up and started using it before I noticed that they sent me the wrong darn color. I ordered Ash Grey which is sort of dark but they sent me Cloudy Grey. It is not a bad color but just not what I wanted. I am not sure there is anything I can do about it since I opened it. If I have to, I will just order another one and make sure it is the right one before I open it.

I love eating and evidently, I love my tooters too and you just can't have too many as far as I am concerned. Especially when I always match them to my outfits.

Hope to read something from someone soon. If not. . . I'll be back and I never run out of something to say.

First leg done with decent weather! Some light rain the first 100 miles or so, then dry. Overcast, but no snow :)

    Hola .. :|

I would not mind a brief travelogue .. miles made in day, where you stopped, hotel review, what you had to eat .. :) .. any photos you care to share

On Monday a police officer showed up at the door asking for me. Sorry to inform you...
Worst thing in the world. 37 years ago the police woke me up in the middle of the night to tell me that my sister had been murdered by her estranged husband. They had been unable to locate our parents, who were on an Audubon campout in northern Michigan. I had to drive up to the area, find the campsite via local knowledge and tell them the bad news.

I came into the campsite and found my father out having a pre-dawn smoke. He took one look at me, and before I could say anything, said, "It was Paul, wasn't it." Four hours of driving and mentally rehearsing how to break such awful news, and he went straight to the awful conclusion before I could say a word.

Second leg done, despite 500 miles of rain. But no snow, so doable.

OK :) Although I've just been bombing down the interstate, no pics. (Heck, from what I've seen so far this time, just turn on the shower!)

Left home about 8:30 Monday, takes about an hour to hit I5 just south of Olympia. Then it's haul assets south on the interstate. Goal for the first day is always to get south of the Siskiyou range (Mt Shasta), where I'm most likely to hit snow. So some ways south of Redding. Made it to Willows this time, a bit more than normal (usually I crap out around Corning, so I made it an extra hour this time, about 11 hours on the road.

Slept poorly last night, but that worked out well? On the road again by 6 AM, so got to Needles earlier than norm. About 11 hours. That was I5 south to CA 58, which cuts east to Bakersfield, when it joins US 40. Up over the Tehacipis and Cajon pass, over to Needles. And spend the night here.

Tomorrow, short day, only about another 200 miles to go :) US 40 over to Topock, AZ, then south on a couple State roads, to I10 and clear sailing to Phoenix. (Actually, Glendale, a major suburb indistinguishable unless you know where the signs are :) )

Yeah, I could do it in 2 days (well, once upon a time!), but I'd have to wake up my brother when I got there, and probably collapse on the doorstep!

You are still getting in your chuckles. I just cannot imagine driving that far. Glad you are having a short day. Enjoy it. Look forward to the next update.

Made the mistake of going in Spectrum today and looking at the new phones. I know I don't need one but it sure made me start thinking about upgrading. There were going to give $688 for a trade-in which was pretty good I think.

The only reason I walked out of there without an S23 Ultra is I think I would be happier if I waited til the first of next year when an even-numbered phone is released. I am not fond of odd numbers. Isn't that odd? Who agrees I'm odd.

Well, without the ability to laugh, and sometimes at myself, not sure I'd want to stick around this planet.

Yep, the short last day's drive is a relief :)

    Uh, then again, 2 + 3 + 5, and, per numerology,

"Number 5 denotes prosperity, justice, knowledge, and mathematical understanding, and is controlled by Budh (Mercury). It also represents rationality, purity, and holiness."

I always find stuff like that interesting.

Well, without the ability to laugh, and sometimes at myself, not sure I'd want to stick around this planet.
I agree with you. I am not sure if there is anything that I cannot find humor in or something positive. I can't help but laugh at myself most of the time. It helps the day go by faster.

Hope everyone has a wonderful mid-week.
