Not surprised that I woke up to rain. I am not going to let it stop me from going to the gym, especially since tomorrow they are closed.

Slept a little better last night thank goodness. At least I feel like I did. The rain is doing its usual "don't you want to cuddle up with a book and do nothing" thing to me.

I am ignoring her. heehee

I am going to take back the little tablet I bought yesterday. The girl neglected to tell me it would have its own telephone number and I would be charged.

I called Spectrum last night and she said there would be no problem returning it and she deactivated that number. I should be more careful and asked better questions but they should have made it clear also. Oh well, easily rectified. I did not need it anyway. I have an older one and the only thing I do on it is watch tv and listen to the radio. Y'all should know I also have an electronics addiction to go along with all my others.

Enjoy the day!

Well, turns out the little guys kennel cough turned nasty in the middle of the night. Tylenol calmed him down and he didn't actually throw up, but he thought he was going to. By morning his breathing was awful. He started to panic so Kate took him to the ER. They think it's croup. Gave him some kind of nebulizer treatment as well as steroids and that made world of difference. The nurse that signed him in was surprised to see him go home. She thought for sure they were going to admit him. He's very pale, but acting normal. Now tonight he's got some more breathing sounds so we're hoping it doesn't get worse during the night. Poor little guy. He's being so good.

So, for a treat I made some Butterscotch Delight cookies. I got the recipe from a murder mystery book so now everyone is calling them Murder Cookies. They're delicious. I can freeze little balls of the dough and pull out however many I want to bake off. That's great for controlling how many cookies are available at any given time which is a good thing because I could totally pig out on them.

Hope the little one is still on the mend!

Still decent weather here, for a northerner ;) Don't think it's gone over 70 yet. Northern AZ is getting some relief from the weather, they've had some severe flooding, but it's starting to dry up. Some.

I guess I have to check my worry list. Last month I got all the paper work together to doing our Fed and State taxes. As normal for me I kept procrastinating and worrying about something gone wrong when doing them.

Our driver’s licenses still show us at out old address most of our financial stuff has been changed to out son’s address except for Janet’s pension. And unbeknownst to me the post office had been notifying a lot of groups and institutions that our new addess is Kates.

ex: I never notified my church, a couple magazines and social security of an adress change … yet they started sending directly to Kate’s address,. Not being forwarded from my old address. When I logged Into SS, indeed my account listed Kate’s address and I never changed it but I did when I saw Kate’s address listed in my account.

Anyhow … all these different addresses worried me that likey not the Fed’s buy perhaps DE would also try to collect state taxes from us not just PA.

Well bottom line we’ll see how it shakes out but at the moment we owe the state 2 bucks, the Feds accepted my eFile and will get a sizable chunck back from the Feds. Plently enough to have a good time in Key West in a couple of weeks.

So now I’m worried about what to worry about next,

@DavidOck Our little guy was doing much better today except for the awful cough. When he was sleeping last night we could hear that awful breathing sound like he had to work hard to pull enough air in. I was sure he was going to wake in the night and need to go back to the ER, but he did sleep through. He seemed much better today until tonight when he got a 101 fever. I'm praying he has a better time sleeping tonight.

He was so cute when leaving the ER on Friday he said "that doctor has some good medicine. I feel much better now". On the way to the ER he had a scared look on his face and was asking "Mommy, how many days will I be sick?" And he was so scared when he started to cry because his Mommy told him when he had a bad cold that crying made it worse because it clogs up your head etc. He remembered she said that and so was worried when he started to cry when he was having trouble breathing. Awww, man, being a parent is hard!

Bless his little heart. The steroids should kick in. Steroids are wonderful drug and help so many different symptoms. When you have had little ones sick, you never forget how helpless you feel when they are sick.
Butterscotch Delight cookies
I have had candy and icing but I do not remember ever having cookies. When/if you get a chance, I would not mind having the recipe since you said they were so good. I like that you can freeze the dough, which I think you can do with most cookie recipes. I could never keep them in my freezer though because have NO willpower. I could probably turn them down better than I could cheese though.

I went out with my aunt and cousin Friday night and it appears that they both have come down with a stomach virus. I feel fine so far so I am hoping I do not joining them.

My aunt was so sick on her stomach today that she called me to take her somewhere. Her daughter wanted me to call EMS which I did. All her vitals were good so they think it is a virus. They suggested I take her to the ER. Her other daughter and grandson came up there so I came on home. The first meds did not do much for her but whatever they gave her last time seemed to make her feel better. It was something that coated the stomach but for a while after drinking it, her throat was numb feeling and it was hard for her to swallow.

I sent my cousin a text and told her if she needed anything to call me. I offered to take her some GingerAle but she did not want it. I hope whatever it is they both have, it is the 24-hour version and I also hope I do not come down with it. Maybe the 8 miles I walked yesterday will keep my immune system strong. Taking her to the ER sure did make me think of my dad.

It is so hard to believe that it has been 6 months. It sure does not seem that long.

Hope everyone has a wonderful start to your week.

@Rat2chat2 Hope your aunt and cousin are feeling better. Did you eat the same food that they did? Whatever is making your aunt so sick I hope she's feeling better now.

@pwmeek Wow, that situation with your sister is enough to give you PTSD. Heck of a thing to be the bearer of bad news like that. Obviously things had to have been bad for a long time.

Today we're going to the cemetery to go over our options. Don't know why we have to be there in person. It's an hour drive. At least I finally heard back from my brother's brother-in-law. He's a nice guy and very easy to get along with so that will help with all this calling and texting every time I find out new info. We'll be burying my brother's ashes along with his wife's so there's been a lot of texting back and forth with her family members.

Our little guy was almost back to normal yesterday. He's still got the cough every so often, but his breathing has been better. He looks very pale with dark circles under his eyes so it's obvious he's still sick. Before bed he spiked a 101 fever. At least he's not missing any school so far. His school is closed from last Friday through this Wed. Then he goes back and his brother is off. It'll be nice when they're both in the same school.

13 more days until we leave for Key West. How nice to have that to look forward to. The anticipation is almost as good as the vacation itself.

Morning, all.

Good that the little one is on the mend!

And yeah, hope you miss it, Rat.

Still sunny here, but still not overly hot.

Rest of the clan has gone back to respective homes, so just us. While great to have us all together, the high energy levels do get a bit taxing in the centenarian +.

I can imagine. You have a pretty good-sized clan. It really seems like the older I get the more I enjoy peace and quiet and avoid big groups.

The rain and the extra warm weather here have really made the grass grow. I am definitely going to need to crank up that mower and get it cut. It is looking pretty bad. At least I should not have a problem seeing where I have Ibeen. Of course, I'm more worried about where I'm going.

Morning, mixers.

Another sunny day here, doh. And they did decide to turn the thermostat up a bit, but not bad so far.

Well, moderately large. And, in deference to Dad about half took a pass. (SIL having some health issues, she and bro off today for some body work today.)

Hola .. :|

Does an address change at USPS automatically trigger USPS notifying places of the change .. ?? I thought they just forwarded the mail to the new address .. oh, well, live and learn

DE would also try to collect state taxes

I did not know you moved to Delaware .. oh, well, live and learn some more

Some mailers pay extra to be notified when their item cannot be delivered as addressed. People who want money from you (charities, subscriptions, etc) are most likely to pay for this USPS service. Often you will see printed on the item "Notification Requested".

We're living with our daughter in Delaware while we house hunt.

When we went to the USPS to have them forward our mail they said first class mail and magazines would be forwarded. We've been receiving mail to this DE address with no yellow forwarding label so how did they find out about this address unless the USPS notified them? The forwarding address we gave for auto and medical things is our son's address in PA since that's the area we're looking to buy in and we're still going to our PA docs. We changed our cc billing address to our son's address too. Last week we got a notice from our car insurance that we'd be cancelled in May because we moved to DE. Huh? I had to call them to get our son's PA address put back on our policy. It's confusing. Moving is confusing. Life is confusing. Sigh. I need another cup of coffee.

Morning, misfits.

Claim is they turn the thermostat back down, after yesterday's claimed mid 70s turned out to be mid 80s. Heck, flat land for hundreds of miles and they can't get it right??

Last week we got a notice from our car insurance that we'd be cancelled in May because we moved to DE. Huh?

Odd they threatened cancellation. Yes, where you live does potentially have an effect on the premium, but cancellation??
