Hola .. :|

Does an address change at USPS automatically trigger USPS notifying places of the change .. ?? I thought they just forwarded the mail to the new address .. oh, well, live and learn

I did not know you moved to Delaware .. oh, well, live and learn some more

Well there’s some mysterious connect between USPS and SS, our financial institutions, organizations I haven’t been a member for years, insurace companies, my church, a few magazine subscriptions, etc, etc. which started sending directly to Kates address without once getting something from them with a forwarding sticker on it.

One financial institution sent me a letter directly to Kate’s address, It said ‘me’ or the post office or my financial adviser notified them of an address change. That’s how I had a clue ‘things’ were changing w/o me directly making the change.

But the County Sherrif’s office had their letter notifying me my carry license was expiring in 60 days. That letter had the forwarding sticker on the envelope.

But then another County Sherrif’s office was able to track down Janet at this address to notify her about her brother’s death. He didn’t have this address. Go figure … they’ll find you if they want to.

The only one I’m a tad concerned about is Janet’s pension. For Federal purposes if she is living in PA it is tax exempt. We didn’t catch that one in time and her 1099 list the Delaware address. I still claimed it as exempt on the Fed tax filing. We’ll see if there’s any fall out on that.

And since her Pension 1099 had a Delaware address we’ll see if Delaware comes after us for state tax on it since DE taxes pensions.

Disclaimer: I could not forward our mail to our son’s address in PA because then I wouldn’t be able to forward it again. He and I have the same last name and the post office forwards anything from ‘that address’ with the ‘same last name’. So if I filed a forwarding request from his place all his mail would be forwarded too. Not Good.

Well, I'm glad you're dealing with all this confusion. I don't think I could handle it.

Morning, all.

Another sunny and hot day here, although they're still claiming that it will be in the mid 70s, so set for them to strike out if it goes to mid 80s again...

Appreciate the general added layer to my usual paranoia about 'The Man' ..

D.B. Cooper might have a hard time staying under the radar these days ..

Yay! I got the yard mowed yesterday without hitting a single thing! Of course, I push mowed around every darn thing in sight.

It has been just gorgeous weather. The legs are still pale in shorts but I tan easily so, it won't be long til I have standout white feet in sandals that everyone notices. I've thought about getting some fake tan to put on them but with me, I'm not sure that's a good idea. I'm still thinking about getting fake toenails since mine have only grown halfway back. (I hope I never kill my big toe nails again)

Since Spectrum got on my reserve nerve, I have closed out 3 services with them and will close my internet on the 4th when I get the new service installed. I am loving the new and improved Rat 2.0. That girl doesn't take dog squeeze from anyone anymore.

Can't believe it is Friday already. Another fast week. I have absolutely nothing planned for the weekend but that is okay with me. What's everyone have planned? Something wonderful, I hope.

Morning, misfits.

Huh, they got it right on the temps (sunny guess gets it right nearly always...), it DID stay below 80! Maybe the same today :)

Mike, I suppose with the move(s) and all, you've had to put this on the back burner, but maybe you can give them a hand?

One day I'm mowing the yard in shorts and the next day I am wrapped up in a blanket because I am so cold. Sheesh! I am grateful that I did get the yardwork done because they are calling for a 70% chance of rain tomorrow. It was bad enough without waiting til we dry out to do it.

Even though I was around both my cousin and aunt while they were sick, I am still okay so I think I am in the clear. Hope I did not just jinx myself.

I have nothing planned for this weekend and I am okay with that. Nice and quiet is good!

Ever feel like you are moving through life in slow motion? I cannot get motivated this morning. The coffee only marginally helped.

I am having an argument with myself over going to the gym. Not sure yet who is going to win.
1laugh.gif
Everyone knows that only the lead dog smells victory so I am keeping my fingers crossed. But what a wonderful rainy day to keep your pajamas on and a blanket nearby. And of course, a good book to read.

Enjoy your day!!!!

Morning, loungers.

Visits are fine, (and they've thankfully NOT been setting high temp records this time :) ), but I could see this constant sun getting a bit boring over time ;)

The coffee only marginally helped.

Stronger coffee?

Nah, PJs, blanket and book sounds better. :)

It does sound good. I have made it into my gym clothes and I am going to make myself go. It has been thirty some days since I have not gotten my 10,000 steps in and I hate to let this rain jack my joy.

But believe me, that is the only thing motivating me to leave my blanket. I plan on making this a quick workout and definitely NO shoe shopping.
1laugh.gif
Only one pair so far this year so I am doing good. You wouldn't believe how many strangers have said they love my flamingo pink shoes. heehee I do too.

I am so very glad that I won the argument about going to the gym because it did help me and my attitude.

The sun came out beautifully and I went and looked at the garden center at Lowes. They have some gorgeous plants. I did not buy anything today because I have a couple of places I want to compare prices.

My cousin called and invited me to have pizza at my aunts. Sounds awfully good to my tastebuds.

(just so you know, I would have gotten excited over whatever she was bringing)

Geez Louise, Rat. Your habits are taking me over. Since moving in with our daughter, I‘ve bought a pair of LL Bean Bison Doubled Sole Leather Lined Moccasin style slippers, a pair of Hey Dude slip on shoes, a pair of Olakai Tuahine all leather flip flops, and a pair of Sketchers slip on shoes.

None I really needed because I’ve got similar ones but they’re all in storage. Good excuse for shoe shopping though, eh?

Our days here with our daughter are definitely interesting. They're in the process of tearing down the wall between the living room and family room. It really opens up the place and will look great when it's done. Of course when you start one project it always leads to another. She painted the brick fireplace black and it's stunning. The walls had paneling which is now gone and is replaced with wallboard to be painted white. The wood parts of the 2 windows will be painted black as well (my job). So now the furniture doesn't match with her new vision so today was the great Move the Couches Around day. One couch came up from the basement playroom and the upstairs couch got moved down. We're currently living in the dining room and upstairs.

Brian grilled some marinated chicken while I made salads and roasted some cauliflower. Delicious!

On Thursday night Kate and I went to a Ladies Night fund raiser for the preschool. They had Bingo for gift card prizes and sold raffle tickets for drawings on gift baskets. Although I didn't win anything Kate won the big basket of assorted wines. We'll be enjoying that for awhile! Our friend was calling the bingo numbers. She was nervous about stage fright, but she had a couple glasses of wine and got a little, well, a lot carried away with her job. Most of us thought it was hysterically funny, but I'm wondering if there will be any blowback. I hope not, she's truly a very nice woman, personable and funny - and very loud! It was quite an interesting night.

So, there you go Tory. You asked and now you know what we've been up to.

Tonight thunderstorms blew through with lots of rain, thunder and lightning. Little Brody told me afterward that he wasn't afraid of the funder. What a cute little guy he is!

Morning, misfits.

Yah, still sunny here, and they finally decided to get back to their average temps, only about 20 more than I'm used to.

But back on the road tomorrow AM, and the car does have AC :)

Of course when you start one project it always leads to another.

Yup, once you start the tear down you often find, uh, interesting things that also need attention.

Safe trip to y'all. I bet you can't wait to be back home. There is no place like it. Well, for most. I love being away.

My cousin asked me if I would be interested in going to Cherokee. I am not the gambling type of gal but it could be interesting. I played poker once on a bus trip to a Braves game and had a Royal Flush the first hand I played. Everyone got mad at me who was in the game cause I took my $25 and left the table. Beginners luck and I was not going to lose it. I also bought 2 scratch off's one time. I won $3 and have never bought another one.

I'm not a gambler but I am the secretary of a Gamblers Anonymous group here in North Carolina. There is something no one here knew about me.

Hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday. If I was any more relaxed, I'd be in a coma.

I think all the pizza I ate last night zapped my giddy-up.

Indeed, while the visit has been good, lots of work waiting at home. Still more winter damage (downed trees and such) to work on, and probably need to get the mower going as well.

took my $25 and left the table.

What, they don't believe in "quit while you're ahead?"

Some days you end up doing something that you had no idea you would do and if you had, you would have done something else. heehee

Dad's 1951 Farmall tractor has 5 pull-behind attachments that my grandfather used for many, many years in his garden. For some ungodly reason, dad had them in the yard so I had to mow around and weed eat. I tried for years to get him to move them but since he did not have to mow around them it was not a priority. They sat on big plastic skids and when I tell you they are heavy, I mean they are heavy.

Well, evidently I was identifying with my inner She-Hulk today and decided that I was going to move them behind the shed out of my sight and where I did not have to mow around.

Most of them I could lift each side and walk it to their destination. There were a couple that was way too heavy and I ended up sitting on the ground so I could use both my arms and legs to help drag it inch by inch. I think the weights at the gym are paying off. Or at least I did until I started having cramps in my calf. That was still better than spasms in my back from my herniated disk which usually happens.

It took the better part of the afternoon but looking at the bright side (you know I can always find one), I got rid of a tremendous amount of built-up aggression that I did not realize I had been harboring. It ended up being rather therapeutic for me. I sincerely hope I still feel the same way when I wake up.

Well, that was my exciting day. Hope everyone had a less strenuous day than I did.

Ya know … there’s a ‘market’ for old tractors and equipment. There’s folks who like to restore them. Unless you sentimentally attached to them, you could have tried selling them and watched while someone else moved them.

Plus you’d have some extra $’s for new shoes.
