Slow down I’m plumb tuckered out just reading your post.
I can't believe all I did either. I gave myself an "Attagirl". I knew it was going to rain so I am glad to get the yard mowed. (and I did not hit anything, heehee)
1laugh.gif

I got 14 of the Boxwood bushes trimmed in front of the house. Now I only have 22 more to do. Sheesh! I am not fond of trimming shrubs and my thumbs agree with me. Will not be any guitar or uke playing this weekend for sure.

It is supposed to rain this weekend and I for once am glad because I need to rest. Although I have so much I need to be doing in the house. Oh well, staying busy probably keeps me out of trouble.

More rain for us the weekend but it is sunny at the moment so I am going to enjoy it. I said enjoy, not work out in it.
1YES.gif

I did not sleep worth dog squeeze last night but looking on the bright side, I did finish my book. I finally got to sleep early morning which is why I have such a late start to my day. That's okay. There is no one to fuss at me!

(and I like it)

I have been out to eat with Kenny and Sharon several times since I and her brother decided not to date, and she texted me to let me know that her hubby had another heart attack. They put in his 6th stent. Bless his heart. He is home and doing very well. I think I am going to go find something to take them for supper. I have to make sure it is chicken or fish because he is the one that cannot eat animals that have hair. That is still just so weird to me. All from a tick bite. And the weird thing is, the other day when my AT&T man came over, he had the same thing. I'd never heard of it before and now I know 2 people. All I can say is that tick better stay away from me because even though I do not eat red meat often, I still get excited when there is a steak on my plate.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. Hugs to all.

Yep! That's weird, alright. For myself, I sensibly eat nothing with less than two legs, nor more than four.

I took supper to Sharon and Kenny (the man that had the heart-attack this week). He ate half of it which was good. He ended up telling me some wonderful stories about when he did the Old Western Sharpshooting competitions. He had some wonderful great pictures too.

I darn near cried when I left because he hugged me and said if he died that night, he would have died happy. He is so sweet. His wife thanked me for listening to his stories because he loved to tell them. To be honest, I am not sure who enjoyed it more, me or him. I'm pretty sure it was me.

Seems like all I did this weekend was eat but oh how I enjoyed it. Chicken Fettucini Alfredo Saturday night with them and then a ribeye dinner last night with my aunt and cousin. I believe I will wait until Tuesday to get on the scales.

Although I did get right much walking in this weekend. So maybe that helped.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

Morning, all.

Yep, rain continues. Said to be that way all week, but if the guessed maps don't change, we might be mostly out of if by mid week. Maybe :)

To be honest, I am not sure who enjoyed it more, me or him. I'm pretty sure it was me.

Or equally :)

There were 8 HUGE Boxwoods on the side of the house. I am talking they were chest high on me. Now. . . they are little tiny baby bushes only 12-16 inches tall. If cutting them back that far kills them, that's okay. I'll just dig them up. I personally think they will live. However, there are many times that I am wrong so I am going to see how they do this summer before I do the same thing to the ones in the front of the house. I just know trimming and shaping Boxwoods is not going to be a favorite past-time for me.

I am minimally sad because Dad loved his bushes and I am pretty sure there would have been a trip to the emergency room if he were here to see what I have done to them.

I did get some good steps in today toting them in a wheelbarrow down to my aunt's burn pile and it might possibly help me sleep more soundly tonight. We'll see.

Is anyone else having fun doing yard work?

Happy Tuesday to all.

Rain continues here, but still snow higher up.

Uh, no, not my idea of fun! Unless I'm chasing gofers with the mower ;) and it's too wet for that.

Well, here we are getting back into the routine at home. House hunting, sorting out things for my brother and helping out with the family. Fortunately we're both cured of whatever that bug was. It was like food poisoning, but definitely wasn't that, but we're sure glad it's gone.

Went food shopping today to stock up and after spending almost $300 realized I never got my tonic and Rose's Lime juice for my G&T. Duh.

I’m so sorry I’m here with bad news. Dan Lamberti, known to us as Uncle, passed away two weeks ago. He didn’t visit the Lounge a lot but most of us have received his wacky birthday wishes. He was mostly attached to the Snails. I had some vaping stuff for him and after I texted him and didn’t hear back I got worried. His sister Susan called me with the bad news. As some of you know he had end-stage kidney disease among other issues and Susan said although they don’t havethe autopsy results yet they think that was mostly the culprit. I’m going to miss him a lot.

His sister said I ould share his obit with everyone.
Thanks for letting us know. Although I never got to know much about him he semed like a nice guy.

Can't eat meat from an animal with hair? Huh? What kind of tick bite? That sounds weird. What happens if he does that meat?

Don't know why you bother going to the gym. Sounds like you've got enough exercise going on with your yard work to not need a gym!

Sounds like a return trip soon ;)

Glad you're both over the what-ever, and hope that was quick enough to enjoy some of the weather and salt water!

Yeah, threw me, too, had to look:

"The Lone Star tick is found mainly in the southeastern United States. Most cases of alpha-gal syndrome are reported in the south, east and central United States. But the condition appears to be spreading farther north and west."

Sounds like no fun at all!!

Had a good workout today and I used muscles that I have not used at the gym.
RatYes.gif
Dad had a huge stack of logs in case he needed to build a fire in the fireplace. Of course, over the years they just rotted. I loaded them up in the wheelbarrow and took it to my aunt's burn pile. I have put so much stuff on it, I should call it my brush pile.

It was a little over 100 steps to her pile from where I was moving them from and let me tell you I made many a trip across that field.

Finished trimming the Boxwoods and did the rest of the stuff around the back of the house. Several Sweet Bubby bushes and a big something I did not know what it was. It's short now. That's what it is.

If I can just get the yard mowed Thursday or Friday, I will be done for right now. I'm tired of doing yard work.

Had to pick up a prescription at Sam's and my aunt asked me to get her some honeybuns so I just asked her to go with me to get her out of the house. Had a good time. She had never eaten a hotdog at Sam's so that is what I bought her for supper.

I have not had one in a very long time. They no longer offer onions. The mustard bin was empty so I went up to the counter and she said that they were out of mustard. After I got finished eating my hot dog, they came out and dumped mustard packs in the bin. I hate being lied to. GRRRR
mad.gif

They have a Brownie Sundae now. But of course, they were out of brownies so I just got us some chocolate frozen yogurt. It was pretty t tasty. I did not eat very healthily today but that's okay, my aunt enjoyed her outing.

Well, that was my busy day. I think I am going to be going to bed early tonight. I am already sitting here yawning. Could be the rocking though. heehee

What happens if he does that meat?
David wins with the correct answer. It does sound unbelievable until you hear how EMS had to take him to the hospital. He has to be so careful with what he eats. I would hate to have it. I would be afraid to eat out because you really do not know what the cook puts in stuff. He never orders anything iffy. I have only seen him eat chicken, potato, and salad. If I had it, I would just have to get my ribeye to go and then go eat it in front of the emergency room.

Rain continues, but the rumor mill says it might back off. Sometime.

Judging from the way my body feels, I could save the money from the gym and just tote around a wheelbarrow full of firewood.
1laugh.gif
I feel good but can definitely tell unused muscles joined in on my yard madness.

It is almost an obsession now. I keep seeing things that I want to be moved or thrown away. I am even thinking of planting some bushes and making a flower garden. Sheesh! I hope this passes. I would not mind this stuff if I was thinking of staying here. I just have not made up my mind.

What I really want to do is pull up this long shag carpet and see the beautiful oak floors underneath it again. That would be a job to pull up the den, hall, and three bedrooms but oh, it would look so good.

Today I am waiting on the Pella Window man. He is replacing a window in the laundry room where I guess the seal messed up and it is slightly cloudy. They said they would let me know what time but I have not heard from them. Two people called and confirmed it would be today though so I guess I am going to wait patiently. Going to use that as an excuse not to bust my tookus.

Another gorgeous day here. Guess I could start washing windows on the back porch. What is wrong with me? heehee

Enjoy your day!

I hate those vague promises. It's kind of like being under house arrest with an indefinite sentence

Wanna know the kicker? I waited patiently until 2:00. I then called and found out the appt. was made for May 19th. I told her a man called me two days ago and told me he would let me know what time. I asked her if they did that a month in advance. She started chuckling and said she saw where he called me and evidently he was confused about the date also.
Oh well, the window has been like that for 13 years, I don't think another month will bother me. Instead of being upset, I just laughed about it. And it kept me from working around the house getting sweaty.
1YES.gif
At least until I got home from the gym and started back to hiding stuff behind the storage building. heehee The yard is starting to look nice methinks.

Tomorrow I plan on doing all the trim work. I might even get around to doing the riding part and edging. If not, there is always Friday. I just like the yard looking nice for the weekend. I am not sure why, it's not like I am having company.
1laugh.gif
But if something exciting does happen (it could, fingers crossed), my yard will look marvelous.
