Good morning! I am up with the chickens today. I maybe could have laid there and gone back to sleep but I couldn't wait and I wanted my coffee.

That's okay. Might as well get started on the day! Enjoy yours.

I then called and found out the appt. was made for May 19th.

Good thing you called, would have been a long wait!

More rain, the backing off hasn't happened yet. Still well below normal on the temp.

I was so busy yesterday. I was at the gym at 7 and then came home and decided to do all the yard work so I wouldn't spend 2 days like I did last time. So I did all the trim work, mowing, edging, blowing, and weed eating. It was a bit much but it sure was nice when it was done. It is sort of nice to work that hard and when you are finished, you see all that you accomplished.

I did the gym and treated myself to a Slushie before I did a little grocery shopping. Came home and decided to spray some weed killer. I have read so many bad things about RoundUp and I hated it when Dad used it. Well, I found a brand new bottle of it in the garage and I just cannot let it go to waste so I used it. I will be glad when it is gone though. I really do not like all those chemicals.

Friday night and here I sit. I don't even have enough wash to make a full load.

We are supposed to have thunderstorms tomorrow but clear up after noon. We will get just enough rain to make that darn grass grow.

I had grilled chicken, lettuce and tomato rolled up in wheat flatbread. It was not bad. It was the first time I've bought flatbread. Since I do not eat bread often, I had not noticed how expensive bread has gotten. I guess everything has. I am glad I am only having to feed 1. I feel sorry for the families especially how much healthy growing kiddos consume. Sheesh!

I have nothing planned for the weekend but maybe something exciting will happen. If not, it might just be nice to relax since I have been working so hard this week.

Sleep well all and have a great weekend.

Morning, all.

Yep, rain continues, and the latest guess has it tapering off. Monday or Tuesday.

Even if I take tomorrow and Sunday off, I have over 93,000 steps in this week. It amazes me how fast they add up. No wonder my calves look like Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Hey, Rat.

Oh, I use Roundup, too. It's almost the only weed/grass available around here. Anyhow, it's not like an industrial farm's tractor dispensing it through forty spray nozzles.

Ya know, Mike used to make me tired from all he did every day. You're in competition with the best.

No way. I am not even in the same category as Mike. I wish I was. There is so much that needs to be done around here. I just do what absolutely has to be done and that is because I don't have a choice.

I went to bed real early (for me) and even when to sleep faster than usual. I just wish I could stay that way all night. Ended up sleeping in spurts again. grrrr

Woke up to dark clouds and we are having a pretty good little thunderstorm right now. Only thing I can think of is that rain is going to make that grass grow.

As soon as it calms down just a little bit (and I finish my coffee) I am going to make myself go to the gym and see if that helps me feel better this morning.

Does anyone have any wonderful suggestions for pollen-induced itchy eyes?

Mine are driving me bonkers (not that you would probably tell a difference). I was walking on the driveway last night and all that pollen was everywhere and I got out the little battery blower and cleaned it off. I do believe that was a mistake.

Morning, all.

Yep, still raining, although the temp is said to be getting close to normal.

We will get just enough rain to make that darn grass grow.

Hmm, around here it's not the rain, but the 5 minute sun breaks that do the damage ;)

I don’t know, I think there’s a new Mike in town. My Apple Watch told me this morning that I’m buring 28% fewer calories in the last 16 weeks compared to the previous 10 weeks. That pretty much lines up with selling the big property and moving in with Kate. No as active around here.

I really should be compensating by taking walks or God forbid join a gym and really try to burn some calories.

That means you need to find your new home,

All that work Mike did was getting the house ready to sell. Now that we're at my daughter's it's me hustling around getting the kids to and from school and helping around the house. Lately though Mike has applied himself to cleaning up and organizing the work benches and boxes of stuff. He's great at that chore.

And yes, you always have a choice. Doesn't all have to be done right when you think of it. Break the job up into separate days. It's a lot easier that way. Just make sure to show up to continue the work some more on successive days or you'll never get it done.

I've seen people mowing their lawns wearing masks. Maybe that would help? Other than that the only thing I know of that helps is allergy meds and eye drops. The past 2 weeks all the cars around here are dusted with yellow pollen. The car washes are doing great business these days. I figure another week and it should all calm down. Hang in there.

Went to an open house today. Lovely home. I probably wouldn't be friends with the owners. The house so perfect including blades of grass outside. Sheesh! It was so perfect - almost creepy.

Then we did a drive-by of 2 other properties. The one was at the end of a tree lined driveway that went straight up! We probably wouldn't leave the house all winter due to being afraid of not making it back up to the house with the slightest bit of ice. The 3rd house was just too far from the kids. So the search continues.

10 years of batteries disposed today. I suppose I should have taped. over one end at least before dropping them in the Home Depot recycle bin. But dang there were just so msny I didn’t feel the urge to fo it.

I did feel the urge to take them out back and see if I could cause a lithium explosion but thought better not mess around like that, your a grown man now not a kid.

But it would have been fun ;) Although probably only a fire, not an explosion.

I did get the bonfire going after all, just came back in after several hours there. Nice to have it gone.

That's us, so many dang boxes piled up and I need to bun them, maybe today. I miss Tacoma's recycling program where they picked up the paper, glass and plastic curbside and gave a discount on garbage service if you did it.
