As battery tech continues to improve, sales of these things will heat up, I think ..

Yeah, quite likely. And the convenience factor may bring more. Really nice with the chain saw, just make sure there's bar/chain lube, pull the trigger. Got tired pulling the cord on the gas ones.

That brand isn't known to me, but there are a couple makers who do similar, a whole line of tools that take "their" battery. (I did get the blower when I got my saw, since both came with battery and charger, and the blower wasn't a whole lot more than just a second battery. Easy choice, since I really did want a second battery :) )

Well, it rained all day so I did not get anything done which was fine with me. I tried walking on the driveway with an umbrella but the wind was making my legs cold and wet. This rain just makes me want to be still anyway.

The lawyer instructed me to print and have faxed something but she said it would not cost much. Evidently our idea of "not much" is not the same. It was $24! Sheesh! Can you believe that is the first time I have ever faxed?

Going to be the weekend soon and it looks like it is going to be a quiet one for me. That's okay too. I am supposed to go eat Mexican Saturday with the girls but with all this rain, I might have to miss it.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday.

I bought a battery power electric .. top rated unit, came with two batteries .. over the last couple weeks, I've really been giving it the workout, since I got it from Amazon and, you know, 30 day return policy ..

I'm actually amazed .. it does an incredibly good job, and, although I can't get my yard done with one charge, it does not take the batteries long to charge back up and I can be doing other yard stuff while waiting .. it's weird, since the decibel level is so low, it's no louder than my Dyson vacuum, in fact it may be even quieter ..
I recently got a battery-powered chainsaw. Makita 36v (uses two 18v batteries). It works amazingly well and is quiet, as you say. I have several other Makita tools, so it is easy to have extra batteries (and they are expensive, so having two sets for a single tool might not be worth the cost). I guess it would depend on whether you would ever benefit from being able to finish the mowing in one session.
A battery-powered chainsaw has major benefits for someone who needs one only sporadically. Always ready; gas-powered chainsaws frequently won't work without cleaning carburetors and replacing stale gas after a long period of no use.

Morning, misfits :)

Another sunny and warm day here, may make it into the low 80s by tomorrow, but then back to late winter....

Yup. Get so tired trying to get it going that there's no energy left to do the work!

$24!!! That's way too many moneys
There were 11 sheets plus their cover sheet. It was still higher than I thought it would be and I don't see why the lawyer couldn't have done it. I am not very fond of lawyers.

I was quite amazed at how well they ran. I use the edger and blower every week and I gave the hedge shears and work out last week. But I still do not want someone telling me what I can and cannot have. I love my Echo backpack blower. Cleans the gutter wonderfully. I have a long attachment with a hook on the end.

Friday night and all I've done is make a gallon of tea. That's okay. I had enough excitement last weekend to last for a while. heehee

We have had so much rain. I hope I remember to check the gauge tomorrow. And I think I saw a Hummingbird for the first time this year. It takes so little to excite me.

And yes, all the rain has made the grass grow faster. It is going to be something terrible by the time it dries out enough to mow.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Morning, all.

Dang, another dry and sunny day here. Although the claim is that it will cloud up and the temp drop tomorrow...

Also, the temperatures have been high enough to keep the weeds in good health, but too cool for the weed killers to work.

Always strikes me as odd that a brief glimpse of sun makes the dandelions grow a foot while the grass just sits there waiting...

There were 11 sheets plus their cover sheet. It was still higher than I thought it would be and I don't see why the lawyer couldn't have done it. I am not very fond of lawyers.

So $2 per page to fax. Lawyer probably would have charged at least an hour's rate to do that, and I suspect that's way more than $24... Yeah, lawyers.

Ugh! This floor finishing will never end! All the stuff that was squished into the dining room is now distributed and they're working on the DR floor and the stairs. So, we're stuck downstairs for at least 3 days, maybe 4. At least the noise from the sanders has finally stopped! Kate and the boys went somewhere called the Oasis that the boys were most excited about. They're missing all the fun here though...

Our rain started yesterday and won't leave til Monday. Yuck. It's cold which I think is harder to endure after those few gorgeous, warm days a week ago. It's 62 today which sounds warm, but it sure doesn't feel like it. I'm ready to fire up the fireplace!

Then the question would be, if a stranger knocked on your door and clearly gave you a nice 'welcome to the 'hood greeting, would you then require him to do footwear removal prior to entry .. ?? Or perhaps deny him entry if he refused to comply .. ??
We have no rule in this house about removing shoes, but it only takes 10 seconds for the boys to shed the shoes and socks. Their parents take about 30 seconds longer. Visitors are welcomed no matter what, strictly for comfort.

I was at the gym at 8 this morning. The gym does not open until 9 on Saturdays. That's okay. I walked outside even though it was just a tad chilly and dampish. By the time the gym opened, I already had my 10,000 steps so I was going to do just the machines. Nope. It didn't feel good so I stopped. Guess it was the damp joints. Go figure.

When to my favorite thrift store and was really good. Did not find anything I wanted to buy. (no shoes either) There was a new bargain store on the other end so I walked down there to check it out. OMG. It was just rows and rows of troughs piled high with stuff and fifty-eleven people digging through all of it. I am surprised I did not leave a trail of smoke because I got out of there as fast as I could. Maybe if there had not been so many people digging I could have stayed. Not sure and probably will not find out.

Went to the same Mexican restaurant that I went to last weekend. In fact, I had the same waiter. There were supposed to be 6 but only 5 showed up. Enjoyed it so much. After supper, Gail, my cousin, invited us over because she had a box of donuts. So of course, so as not to be rude

, I ate a chocolate covered with cream filling. It was delicious.

It was a wonderful Saturday night. Stayed on the phone until 3 this morning talking to my friend. A man that likes to talk as much as I do. Who would of thunk it?

Lots of rain here. Supposed to rain all day so I think I will take a day off from walking. After my coffee, I may just stay in bed for the rest of the day. It is wonderful to have that option.

I don't care if people take their shoes off or not as long as they are comfortable and find something in the living room that they want to take home with them. heehee It is a fun way to get rid of stuff.

Good morning. Foggy and rainy here-supposed to be like that all day.

The dining room floor and stairs are sanded and stained. Only took about 3 hours before we could walk on it. They'll be back on Monday to apply the 1st of 3 coats of sealer on it. Not being able to access the upstairs while the sealer dries is a real pain, but after Wednesday we'll be able to put the house back together and the floors will look great. Still have to paint the windows and touch up the baseboards, then paint the dining room.

Meanwhile the search continues for us to find a home. Still no luck yet, but there's a couple possibilities listed that will be coming on the market so there's hope.

Last night Kate and I and 2 lady friends went out for dinner at an adorable cajun restaurant in a lovely colonial part of town. It was delightful and the food and drinks were delicious. We brought home enough food to feed us for today too. We have to do this again at the other restaurant a few doors down where the servers dress as pirates! I'm told the food there is wonderful too. So much for my diet!! There's quite a history to the town including that Black Beard and other pirates are said to have stayed here.

I went to the dermatologist to find out about the bumps and spots on my face. Did you know you can get dandruff on your face? What??? How weird. Don't have it on my head where it's supposed to be. At least it's an easy fix by applying some cream before bed.

It's a gloomy day and I'm feeling lazy. Guess I should change the bed sheets and maybe make some stuffed shells for dinner and reward myself for that by reading my book. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Morning, misfits.

Seems summer is done here, for a while, anyway. Temp won't be much over mid 60s for a while, with scattered showers.

So of course, so as not to be rude

I've heard that gifted donuts have no calories :)

As battery tech continues to improve, sales of these things will heat up, I think .. about every maker has got a foot in that door, hell, you can even buy a zero turn battery unit these days ..

I bought a Sun Joe and, if I keep it, they have a whole set of yard tools that take the same batteries ..

I sold the old mower for $120 to a dude that wanted the motor .. now, I'm trying to decide if I want to put that $120 toward another gas unit, since I know another dude that has a nice, self propelled Honda brand new one for less than half the regular price .. probably fell off the truck, buy hey ..

I”ve had a self-propelled ‘push’ mower with a Honda motor for years. It always starts on 1 or two pulls even after sitting all winter. (I do drain the tank and run the carb dry before storing for the winter, then start with fresh gas in the spring)

Yes, a break from the rain is good :)

Here, "scattered showers" is just that, and any given location might see none or have the scatter stall on top. We're often in the "none" group due to local geography.

And we do like it when they start talking about "scattered sun."

We have had some gorgeous weather. Monday I got out that "beast" and did ALL the yard work including push mowing, edging, and blowing everything off. I may have the deck a little low. My friend said if it were dry, I would kill my grass. I am not sure I would mind that at all, to tell the truth. That would be even better than a goat.

I had to order some more certified copies of Dad's Death Certificate. Luckily the cremation place can get them for me and I do not have to drive downtown. They should be in next week. I did not know how many I would need.

My cousin gave me her brand new, still-in-the-box printer yesterday. I don't know how people buy something and never use it. Sheesh! She loves McDonald's Caramel Frappa somethings so I went by there and took her one. Of course, when I saw they had Mocha Frappa somethings, I could not resist so I got one too. Pretty good I must say.

I guess the thyroid meds are doing something. Definitely increasing my metabolism. Since I started them, I have dropped 7 lbs without trying to. I worked hard for the first 60 lbs and let me tell you, this was a lot easier. View attachment 994923

Cindy, my girlfriend is going to come over around lunch today and take a look at my printer. I have tried everything I know (which is not much). I think it has something to do with my new internet at AT&T. The printer and the router are sitting a couple of feet away and I am only getting a medium signal. I would think I should get a strong but I am not sure. Hopefully, I will get it working soon because that attorney sent me 9 PDFs I had to print and do something with. Sheesh! It sure is less difficult to be born than to pass away.

Hope everyone has a great day!
