Morning, all.

Still nice here, although the claim is some heat mid week. No rain.

Our daughter had the opportunity to fly one of the WWII trainers.

 I bet she had a great time!!

@Uncle Willie - I suppose I'm not as old as I thought I was. I never saw one of these in a bar.

Wow!! That's awesome! I flew in a little Cessna once, but I'm sure it was nothing like that! Good on her! That's being pretty brave, lol.
Her room mate at the time was a Naval pilot. She flew helicopters but non the less gave Katie, our daughter, a list of acrobatics a modern jet fighter can do.

Katie gave the list to the pilot of the trainer and he said ... we can do this, this and this but if we even try that or that my airplane will come apart and I don't think you want that to happen. :)

It sprinkled lightly so I did not get to mow my yard which was disappointing since I had to fix the darn thing. At least I have the trim work and edging done so the rest will be a piece of cake. It has been a long time since the belt slipped off the pulley and I hope it is a long time before it does it again. I hate that I know how to do most of the stuff Dad showed me. I guess I should be grateful because I am sure I saved a bunch of money from having to have it picked up and fixed.

Went to a Mexican restaurant that I had not been to in about 7 years and it was still delicious. I had Fundido, which I had never gotten. I brought home half of it because no one want to split with me. I wonder if you can freeze it. It did have onions and peppers.

After supper, I was stuffed and Gwen (my aunt) wanted to buy me a milkshake at The Cookout because of me keeping an eye on her foot. It was a Reece's Cup milkshake and it tasted just like one. The first couple of inches was absolutely delicious and then it was just a little too much. I am not sure why but milkshakes make me feel lethargic. Could be the dairy. I don't know. Could be I should not have milk products on top of Mexican food.

I was supposed to take her to the doctor since it was still swelling. (her foot) Her daughter called and asked me to go with them this morning but I did not feel like that was necessary for both of us to go. My aunt had already told me she wanted me to take her. I didn't mind but it is her daughter's responsibility.

They did give her an antibiotic (which they give out too freely) but her daughter did not ask where the swelling was coming from. Nothing was broken because they took an x-ray. I could have told them that last night when she went running across the floor to show me that it did not hurt. Sheesh! I think sometimes they just do things to file with insurance. I need to work on my opinion of the medical profession.

I am going to keep my fingers crossed that the phone I ordered from Amazon is in excellent condition and works well. I have ninety days to return with no questions asked and I will be sure. I am already concerned with what things I have lost. Thank goodness the really important notes are backup in the cloud in two different places. (Keep and Evernote) But I know I am going to lose something that will upset me. Accidents happen I will not beat myself up too bad for it.

Oh well, I hope everyone has a wonderful start to a great week.

Good morning. What a nice weekend it was at the airshow. For once it wasn't blistering hot. It was about 80 degrees, but lots of clouds and a little breeze that felt great. We stayed at a nearby hotel so we didn't have the hour drive home and we could just go down to the lobby for breakfast. That was pretty helpful with a 4 and 6 yo in tow. Their favorite part was being able to climb all over a tank and the parachutists.

Mike stayed home to take care of the dog and 2 cats. He worked at organizing some of our stuff to get ready for the move. We have settlement on Thurs. Yikes! It's really happening!

This week is going to be pretty hectic. On Wed we pick up Brody from school at noon, then drive 1/2 hr to pick up our other 2 grandsons at 1:30, feed them dinner, then drive back here. Thurs. is our 6 yo "graduation" from kindergarten at 10:00, then do a walk through of our new house, then settlement at 1:30 then pick up our other 2 grandsons from their last day at school at 2:30ish and finally get back here after dinner. Fri. we take a load of stuff to our new house, Saturday will be cleaning the house and Sunday I'll do a Mega grocery shopping trip to stock up the new kitchen. Mon. the movers come with our stuff from storage and Tues the movers come to move our stuff from here to the new house and spend our first night in our new home. I'm sure we'll be driving back and forth gathering odds and ends from here. Our daughter and husband will be glad to have our stuff out of here. There's enough clutter with all the kids stuff.

Right before we sold our house I'd made a huge batch of juice. We're only now getting pretty low so one of the first things I'll have to do is mix up some more. It would have been pretty difficult digging everything out to make juice while here and the kids are always around so it seems we timed this just right.

I got my third quote on the roof. Glad to see they were all pretty much in line with the price. It has a black roof now. The man I am going with also suggested two different gray kinds of colors. I am not sure what it would look like. Since I am used to black, I guess I should just get black again. It really doesn't matter because I hope I'm not here. With the black shutters, I guess the black would be ok. I tried to get Dad to paint the front door red. Of course, he said no. I think it would look good but then again, I have lots of black, white, and red in my closet.

I think a red door would look very nice! Hey, if you want a red door my vote is go for it! As long as you're there you should make it the way you want it!
My aunt wanted to mow today which I did not think was a good idea. Her foot was a little swollen earlier today when I check it. Then tonight it was more so and a little dark around it. I told her daughter if it was my decision, I would let a doctor look at it just to be safe. Dad had cases that were cellulitis and that can be dangerous.

Well anyway, to keep her from doing it, I did all the trim work around her house, her grandson's house, and my house. I also mowed outside the fence at the street on all three houses. I am not complaining because I got almost 20,000 steps in today. What sort of made me ill was when I was finishing up, her grandson came out the door and was putting on his shoes. I sure hope I did not disturb his nap.
    mad.gif

He did tell me tonight that he appreciated it but that is not the point. He knew his grandmother's foot was injured. He also knew the grass needed mowing. He is 30 years old and I think it is time he starts acting like it. I know I sound like an old fart but. . . kids, these days. Sheesh!
Ummm, you are absolutely NOT an old fart. Does he live there?
10"30 and big bombers flying over my house, heading your way. As an old usaf guy, I'd love to attend but the crowds are too much. I did get there back in the eighties I think. Now I just hang at home and watch bunches of old war movies, lol.
We usually see people set up along the road in their lawn chairs to watch the aircraft flying around. The crowds weren't too bad this year which was a good thing because I don't handle crowds too well either. Everyone there is pretty considerate though. It's walking around on the hot tarmac that can be pretty draining, And there's never enough time to listen to all the speakers I'd like!

After fighting with T Mobile, I got a phone from Amazon and it is great. Were you not able to salvage the sim card in your old phone?

    Morning, misfits.

Still nice temps here, but set to change and make a (hopefully!) short run into the 90s... and no rain.

Sheesh! I think sometimes they just do things to file with insurance. I need to work on my opinion of the medical profession.

Maybe not so much the medical profession as it is the insurance companies. They're in it for profit, not health.

Tues the movers come to move our stuff from here to the new house and spend our first night in our new home.

    Got champagne? :)

I have not even tried to get it out. The top was not messed up. I guess I figured it was okay but I probably need to check it. Thank you.

I went to the same doctor that delivered me until I was well into my 30s. When you left his office, not only did you know what you had and what to do about it, but you also knew that he cared for you and wanted you to be better.

I used to think that doctors had just as much of a calling as a preacher. Maybe even more. When he retired he kept his license and if we got sick we would go over to his house. My dad used to work on his car and to this day, he is the only one that has ever hit the fence at the end of the driveway.

My cousin was having a tree cut down today and asked me if I would bring her mom over to watch them. I ended up taking lunch. Been a long time since I had Arby's and it was very good. I even had a milkshake. Yum!

That was the best part of the visit. I've seen enough trees cut down and had to clean up the brush, to last me a lifetime. Oh well, everyone had a good time and I still got home in time to mow three yards. I did not think my aunt should get out there yet and I've told you how useful the grandson is. When I was mowing his yard he did come out and thank me. He told me he had planned to do it Wednesday. I don't even care if he saw me roll my eyes.

    Morning, all.

Claim is the heat starts to build today, heading to the 90s tomorrow. Ugh. At least the further claim is that it's only for a few days. We'll see.

He told me he had planned to do it Wednesday. I don't even care if he saw me roll my eyes.

How nice of him, but did he say WHICH Wednesday?

Well, I called the roofer just to confirm and he said he had tried to get in touch with me because they were going to wait until Thursday. He said they were calling for 50% rain tomorrow. Glad I texted him. I would have been mad as an o'l wet hen

if I had gotten up at 6 tomorrow and no one showed up. I totally understand the rain thing though. It's all good. I get to keep the rest of what I owe him for one more day.

Saw a sign at Wendy's about limited-time strawberry frosty's. I was not very impressed. I doubt I could have guessed what flavor it was if it had not been pink. I got large because I thought I could split it up into two nights. Nope, the large is a medium size at best. First time I have been to Wendy's in I don't know how many years. You probably will not be surprised that I am not fond of square burgers on a round bun.

Just my opinion but it's hard to beat a Jamocha shake at Arby's. I have been treating myself all week. Well, actually I have been treating my aunt and had to get me one, of course.

The roofer man probably made a good call in waiting til tomorrow. It is dark and cloudy.

I tried melatonin last night and I think I slept more soundly. It could have just been the past week's lack of sleep though. The only concern I had was I woke up feeling more tired than I was last night and I have a bad headache. Something I really do not get often. I am hoping the coffee helps. I cannot even say it was the melatonin because I have had a little bit of a stressful week. It's not every day you realize you have a $1300 paperweight.
