It's going to 81 today, but we're keeping the house closed up with a couple fans going and it's pretty cool in here. Tomorrow it's going to 87. We've got a lot of trees around us that's helping to keep things cool.

I did so many "1st time" things with Dan. It was wonderful. Everything was exciting to me. Even going through my first toll booths was fun.

Here is the first selfie we have taken of us together out of all the times we have met. Just so you know what happy looks like on me. . . I can't believe I am posting a pic of me. That is definitely a new side of me. Remember he is 5 years younger but I don't think I look like I'm robbing the cradle. Not that it really matters to me. heehee

What??? First time going through a toll booth? Yeah, you do need to get out more.

Happy looks fantastic on you!! It warmed my heart to hear you say that.
Any clue on how long a wait?
Hopefully sometime on Monday we'll hear.

View attachment 997093 I definitely agree with you and I am ready to go again. View attachment 997094

Thank you. I love sharing my excitement with y'all. The only family I have is my aunt and cousin. They just came into my life 4 years ago. My three close girlfriends moved to other cities in NC years ago. It's crazy but I feel the closest to people here that I've never been able to hug.

Eight years ago several here got together and met in Florida. One of my many regrets is that I could not go because I was taking care of my dad who had just had a stroke. I would have loved to have gone. If I remember correctly, they called it the Odyssee Tour. Since I've started driving, I should start my own tour and just go around meeting anyone here that wants to meet me. I could call it the Oddity Tour.

Yep, you're right, but there was nothing odd about it other than to be happy to meet people we've gotten to know so much about, but never met. Anytime you make it up to sourheastern PA your quire welcome to visit us. Just not yet - the place is a wreck!

Home again; home again. Six days in the hospital and come home with a pacemaker/defibrillator. Feeling "wonky; called an ambulance; chedcked into Emergency, and they kept me. Five days later they installed a defibrillator with. some pacemaker functions. It boosts a slow HR, but just records a fast one. If your heart goes nuts, it zaps you. I must have 50 or 60 new holes in my body all healing up at various rates. I must be down a pint with all the blood they drew.

As a side note, does anybody know where I can get plain, black, Delrin drip tips. 0.347" diameter (8.8mm) and a simple narrowing neck.
View attachment 997116
Wow, so glad they were able to get you under control. I'm glad you're home and feeling better.

I know we had some of those drip tips at some point, but we got rid of a lot of stuff we were no longer using. If we run across any while use npacking we'll let you know. I googled them and there's tons of places that sell them listed. Just don't know if they have them in stock, Maybe try a local vape shop?

Hope the parts can be found before it gets hot! Maybe set your fans to bring in cooler air in the AM, then close up.

Hola .. :|

I'm guessing no basement in the new place .. ??

Solid few hours of rain yesterday afternoon and evening .. the grass will be growing again .. spent most of the day indoors, gave the dog a bath, installed a new deadbolt and lever handle lock on the french doors off the deck .. I never liked doing that, since, for some strange reason, I always have a fiddly time lining up the screws in the locks ..

Winery gig on Saturday went an hour over and paid an extra $150 .. mostly an older crowd, wanted to hear the old stuff, so right up my alley .. when you end up playing 'Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw' three times, you know both yourself and the audience may have had a libation or three ..

If you've got AppleTV+, 'Silo' is some of the best TV Sci-Fi going .. highest recommendation .. if you don't have AppleTV+, go to ::

Sign up, get three months free, or, go to ::

Get three months free .. use one, cancel at the end, wait a few days and sign up for the other one, voila, six months free .. plenty, plenty great TV on Apple

Any luck?
Nope. I thought it would work the next day too. I lightly tapped on the screwdriver and thought that would do it. I will try tightening it to loosen it. Thanks.

Anytime you make it up to sourheastern PA
Be careful who you invite.

I would love to meet y'all. Dan was born and raised in Erie, PA so he has lots of family and friends there. The place he goes up in Ohio (where I met him) lets him store one of his Harleys there, so he can visit family. That is so nice of them. I wish his company would let passengers go with him. They do not allow people or animals in the truck and I am a little bit of both lately.

I needed to keep real busy yesterday so I burned two huge brush piles down at my aunt. It was a wonderful day to do it and worked out well because today we have hard rains and thunderstorms. They are calling for that all week. Yuck. I guess we need it though.

Not sure what possessed me to buy white cheddar crackers at Aldi's this morning. I say I have been going in there to see how hard it is raining but the truth is. . . I keep grabbing a handful of those crackers.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Good luck! If you hear/feel any kind of motion or noise when trying to tighten, that's a good sign that it might be breaking loose. Then back to lefty lucy. (Uh, unless they are left hand threads.)

The place has a fully finished basement - full of boxes to unpack. But i reserved a space where I have a TV, couch, and two easy chairs setup. :2cool:

Cool air continues here, the rain seems to be done for now.

But i reserved a space where I have a TV, couch, and two easy chairs setup.

:thumb:

So you can be comfortable while looking at the boxes :)

Hola .. :|

I'm then guessing that, besides unpacking, you two are spending the bulk of your time in said basement .. I know I would .. mine stays pretty cool all year ..

On another note, this whole Titanic submersible going missing news story :: Rich people paying $250K for a few hours 'let's see the wreck' tour .. OK, I get it, it's nifty, you've got the money, Bucket List, etc .. not to even say that I might even be tempted if I had the dough .. but still .. what could go wrong .. ??

I did not even know tours were available until I saw the news story ..

I guess it's in the same league as paying mega money to get blasted into Outer Space for a minute ..

Ditto. And, if I had the $$ to blow, I don't think I'd spend it on going down that far in a tinker toy... nope.

But maybe the space plane ;)

Did you read up on any of the submersible .. ?? Interior size of a mini-van, controlled by an off the shelf video game console controller and, you get to pee in a water bottle .. (don't ask me what you do if you need to, er, well, you get the picture ..

Yup, that's why I called it a tinker toy...

ONE window, at the bow. but at least a curtain for the "facilities." No chairs, sit on the floor. No, not the way I'd want to blow 1/4 Mil (the advertised rate!)

Although I do hope they make it up to the surface.

Well, I finally got the medallion stamps I needed on two forms I received from the lawyer. IMO, my lawyer has been dragging their feet on Dad's estate, but today she instructed me to mail this form "overnight". Sheesh! I went to the UPS store to get my signature notarized because my bank's notary was not going to be in all week. I could have driven to the other side of town to get it free but decided since it was raining, I would just pay $10 at the UPS Store. I checked on sending it there overnight and it was going to cost me $54. I went to the post office and they did it for $28.75. That was much better. I guess. It is the first time I have ever sent anything that way. Not sure what the rush is all of a sudden.

The end is in sight (I believe, fingers crossed) so that makes me happy.

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Morning, all.

Looks like we might have a dry day for a change, and the temp is said to approach normal, so low 70s on the dance card.

And the round trip gas might have been that much!

I just fixed a quick chicken sandwich on a skinny wheat flatbread. It was pretty good. Stuffed down two boiled eggs too. It's good protein. I was just too hungry and tired to cook anything.

I worked in the attic for 8 1/2 hours today. OMgosh, it is so overwhelming. I accomplished right much and I have 5 black lawn bags full to get rid of tomorrow. I sure am glad that the people on my street have very little garbage. I just go down the street and fill theirs up. (I did ask first)

It is going to take some time but I will eventually get it done. Found a couple of cool things today. Some 1926 oil bottles. I might have to keep the cast iron skillet. I do not have one that has a lid.

1926oil.jpg castironpan.jpg

Dan's little dog is doing very well. I hope he gets to go home soon. It is possible that Dan will be driving close to me tomorrow so I may go spend the night with him in his truck. Everything is up in the air and his company changes their minds quite often so I will not get my hopes up. But if it can happen, I'm getting pretty darn good at the gps'ing myself around those highways.

Hope everyone has a great Fri-Yay eve.

Nice they let you do that! And you'll get there, piece by piece.

Cast iron pans can be reconditioned and seasoned. That one doesn’t look in bad shape. But before you do that, flip it over and try to identify the manufacture by the markings if there is no name. Some old cast iron brings a good price to collectors si I wouldn’t clean it up yet unless you’re sure you’ll be keeping it.
