You and Rosesense did "a bad thing"....when you posted here about TEMU and your orders from them. I'd never even heard of TEMU until then.

I placed my first order a week ago yesterday, and have placed 4 more already since then. The 1st order already came yesterday, and the other 4 are all expected to be delivered between today and August 10th.
Yay for you. Just remember to check your order page periodically. I often forget and the other day I got 6.00 back in price adjustments. Free money, yahoo.

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
    Hola .. :|

Just nothing of any ground breaking importance to report .. battery gave out on the Avalanche Sunday around 6:00 PM .. I'd been noodling around on the truck doing this and that, left the ignition on for a few hours .. (not running, just in the on position) .. deader than a doornail .. bummed a jump from a neighbor, drove around for half an hour, seemed OK .. Monday got ready to head out to the workshop, deader than a doornail .. bummed another jump .. looked around for batteries on-line for a minute .. AutoZone / Walmart and the rest looked like they had all went to a one year only warrantee, so I went to the battery store, that specializes in, er, batteries ..

$135.00 later and a 5 minute install .. new battery with 5 year replacement warrantee .. you get what you pay for ..

I've got Road Assistance with State Farm, but using that might give them an idea to raise my rate again, which already went up 25% at the last renewal, even though I have no accidents / tickets in forever .. and the truck is a 2011 .. dropped by my Agents office and threw the bill on his desk .. 'Yeah, Willie, everybody got the increase ..' .. 'Like a good Neighbor'

Everything keeps going up, yet inflation, according to Uncle Sam, is low .. ?? How is that .. ??

The 2023 Social Security increase is going to look like a real bonanza compared to what 2024 is going to look like, at this point ..

Well, all we can do is see what happens .. Uncle Sam did not call me and ask .. ;)
I read that it's going to be around 3 percent. Since many years it's been zero, I'm just pleased when there's any increase at all.

Went to get my photo drivers license today in our new county. Wow, very efficient DMV. Didn't take long at all. Nice when something goes right.

And the clover. Tell me why grass grows around my bushes but I have bald spots in the yard. Go figure. View attachment 999222
Hmmm, spots in the yard. Could be grubs. They eat the roots of the grass and make dead spots in the lawn. You need some skunks to root them out. Meanwhile the honey bees love the clover.

I am tired of making hummingbird food for that weird squirrel that will not leave my feeders alone. I have fed them for years and never had a problem. The little b'tard is also chewing on the aluminum wire that holds up the chain link fence. I have a stack of new ties and I just replace them but why would they do that? I know they have to break off their teeth or something like that but why can't they do that on a hickory nut or a rock? Sheesh.

Yeah, we had the same problem. They visited so often I named them. Then we found the baffles that look like an empty bomb shell - they worked like a charm. The little beggars couldn't figure out how to get to the feeders. Of course if there's a tree nearby they can still launch themselves for a drop in. One night I saw a raccoon standing up, holding the feeder up on an angle so he could have a nice long drink!! The baffle foiled his efforts too. So we put one on the seed feeders too and wow, the money we saved on bird seed!

I don't know what's up with the squirrels chewing on the metal hangars. Could they be trying to get the feeder to drop so they can eat in comfort?

Still better than many another year, at least.
Yeah but the grocery bill chews up the increase and then some.

No, they pull off the little flowers and I guess drink it. The feeder stays hanging. Go figure.

That made me chuckle. They are so pretty and smart too.

I know they do. I hate it when I mow it down but it also makes seeing the row so easy. heehee I hope one day, I can retire from mowing too. I've gotten so I dislike having to do all the chores I have to do. I am not getting lazy. I just prefer doing fun things.

Seems it came along at the right time. Since your vape shopping has dwindle down considerably TEMU will give you an outlet for constant on-line shopping and goodies arriving to your mailbox.

    Morning, all.

More of the same weather here, just warmer. Actually some vague mumbling about maybe scattered showers. Yeah, right.

State Farm, but using that might give them an idea to raise my rate again, which already went up 25% at the last renewal, even though I have no accidents / tickets in forever

With them as well. Technically they are a "co-op", and they adjust rates by some sort of zone system. If claims in a given zone go up, everyone in that zone pays more. Other zones may have different stats that they go on. Sucks to be in a "bad" zone! And, of course, as cars get more tech, repair costs go up.

Way back in the 60s (no, NOT the 1860s!) I was a bit heavy footed, got several tickets and totaled a car.. apparently the zone I was in did a lot better, because the rates went down that year. Go figure. (Yeah, twilight zone...)

I wear shorts and a tank top when I work outside since it is so hot. Tell me how I got poison oak on my belly. I did not take my pants off outside. Nowhere else do I have any. That is just weird. I hate poison oak. Guess I should be glad it is just one extremely itchy place on my tummy.

I finally got up enough motivation to go to the gym this afternoon. Someone told me the Summer Strawberry salad at Wendy's was good so I had my mouth all set for it. I ordered it and then they said they were out of them. I just got my money back and came home and fixed another baked potato and ate a whole can of corn. heehee

For some reason, I have been craving chocolate. I've done a pretty good job avoiding it but when I got the canned corn out of the pantry, I saw a bag of milk chocolate baking chips.

I did not even take the time to get the scissors out. I tore the bag open with my teeth. That's pretty bad but it sure was good.

Latest guess is of possible "monsoonal showers" tomorrow or Sunday. Sounds like scattered deluge to me, just hope some scatters on us! Although, of course, a more typical 24 hour gentle rain would be better, we'll take whatever comes!

Haven’t checked the weather forecast, but it looks like it could rain at ant time. No matter, I’ve still got boxes to go through in the basement so rain or shine won’t interrupt today’s activity.
Are you getting close to having them all empty?

Pretty overcast here, but it'll be in the 80s here for the next 10 days with only a possibility of rain on a couple of those days. I was hoping it would rain last night so it would make weeding easier today. Guess I'll have to get out the hose.

@DavidOck David, she didn't say she ate the chocolate WITH the canned corn...

@Rat2chat2 Now you've done it. I poked around on the Temu site but didn't put in an order. With all this talk about it I'm going to revisit it.

By-the-way, I did order clothes from NoraCora and am very happy with them. Thanks for the recommendation.
