The storm we had blew all the neighbor's tree leaves over to mess up the nice yard that I had looking so good. We really did have a bad storm everywhere.

The Moose Lodge did not have any power so we went to The Boxseat which is a nice place to eat. A sports bar but with very good food. We each got different type quesadilla's and shared them (mine was the best). heehee

He took my suggestion to wait until morning but now even that has changed. His daughter and granddaughter live with his father. She called him tonight because they have all been sick for a couple of days and found out today that they all have covid. I think Ken is worried about his dad because he is 89 and has heart issues.

So we will not be going to Chattanooga as planned but he says we will leave in the morning and go Waverly and then he wants to show me some other stuff. I don't know what but I am sure I will like it. I hate it when things change but maybe it is time I learn to be more flexible. I can be for the first time and maybe that is why Ken has come into my life. He is definitely a go-with-the-flow kinda guy. Not much bothers him. Could be a good influence on me.

He told me tonight that he has nothing keeping him in TN and he really likes it around here. Ruh Roh. I told him again that I am not looking for a relationship right now but I really liked seeing him. I think he is another one that would like to be in a relationship. I am having a good time so we will just see how it goes. He sure has been nice to me and I am fond of his mustache. View attachment 999884

I'll keep ya posted on my whereabouts. Have a great rest of the week.

Morning, all.

Another hot one here, over 90 again. Claim it will cool off tomorrow - to 89. But some real relief after that, so they say. No rain.

but it's nice to know we've got a nice neighbor looking out for us.

Indeed! Neighbors helping neighbors, what a concept!

I think Ken is worried about his dad because he is 89 and has heart issues.

Justifiable concern! Hope they all recover quickly!!

Good morning everyone. Humid today (nothing new there) going to 85 with possibility of severe t-storms later.

I'm still dealing with the probate court for my brother. Every time I submit the paperwork it's rejected because they want something new. Arrrrrgh! It was finally accepted so I sent them the original, notarized documentation a couple weeks ago and have been waiting to hear back. Phone calls go to voice mail and they never get back to me. Finally got a real person yesterday and she told me the acceptance documents they sent mean nothing and I should get an email in about 2 weeks. 2 hrs. later while deleting emails I noticed one from an unknown woman. Good thing I was paying attention to the subject line because it was from the court telling me they scheduled the Webex meeting for this Friday at 11:30. Good thing I'm not at work or away from home on vacation etc. After this meeting I'll still have to drive to the court, about a 45 min. drive. Hopefully there won't be anymore roadblocks. I'm sick of dealing with this.

On the bright side, we get to watch our 4 year old grandson the 2nd week in Sept. The older brother will have started school and the Nanny has a new job. I'll probably just stay at their house for the week unless the Dad is going to be home some of those days.

Hola .. :|

Sometimes, I just think things in the Modern World get more and more complicated as time goes by ..

Since the True ID, or whatever it's called, seemed to get pushed back year after year, I never messed with getting one .. well, it's still pushed back, but with my DL coming up for renewal, I decided to get it over with .. so, gather up the paperwork to prove who you are and schlep that to the DMV, spend the better part of the day getting thru the waiting lineup and getting processed ..

I finally had enough of the continuous, regular price increases with Spectrum / Charter Internet / Cable / Phone since my tab is now around $250 a month .. so, I decided to go with T-Mobile 5G home internet, ordered the box, got it and so far so good .. still had to go thru a credit check and a few various other hoops .. tedious, but $50 a month even, guaranteed no price increase ..

Then, to replace regular TV, you know, CBS / NBC / etc, decided to go with YouTube TV, which is owned by Google .. only to discover that my years old Google Gmail / YouTube account was tied to the workshop address and phone .. so Google rejects my CC payment for YouTube TV since it's for the home address .. actually had to email them a copy of my passport page to prove my identity, since I don't yet have my True ID DL because they mail it to you 4-6 weeks later ..

The good news is, I cut the tab for TV / Internet / Phone in half with essentially the same service .. $250 a month to about $125 .. that's enough savings to stock up on some weed and libations in order to tamp down the frustration of dealing with the Modern World way of doing things ..

Still winning, just taking longer to get there ..

We actually got ours years back. Close enough to Canada that jaunts that way aren't out of the question, and getting back in to the USA was, well, desirable :) Enough DMV offices that we could take our pick, and knew ahead of time which ones were less busy.

Still winning, just taking longer to get there ..

Uh, that sounds like me. Walking. Just takes longer to get there ;)

You just need a True ID to cross the border .. ?? No passport .. ?? That's handy

Well whoopeedo! Had the Webex meeting, did a docusign with the probate guy and we're done! Don't even have to make the trip to the court. He said I should have the letters of administration sometime next week. Whew! SO glad this is done!

On another note, did you know that bumble bees take naps during the day? I'm astonished. A woman posted a beautiful picture of a bumble bee laying on its side inside a flower saying how cute it was. I responded saying I didn't think bees napped and he probably was sick. Then somebody posted a link. They actually do take naps! Who knew?

Dang. Can't find the picture she posted. This is a crazy Nextdoor site. The posts bounce around so even if you come back to a site you can't find the post you were just looking at.

Morning, loungers.

Dang, nice day here, yesterday. A pleasant mid 70s. No rain, of course, but the break in the temp was good. Said to be only a tad warmer for the next couple days, but only low 80s.

Hope our favorite Rat is having fun!

Well, that's just ugly! Today our high is supposed to be 79. It's gorgeous outside here. Stay inside Willie. Fall is coming and you can do the outside stuff then.

Yup, I drug my .... outside this AM and got the yard work done as well as a thorough watering of all the outdoor plants and filled the fountain .. it was 78o .. tomorrow will be spent indoors, air conditioning cranked and maybe a ceiling fan or three spinning as I continue to tweak my replacement setup for Spectrum Cable TV / Internet / Phone as outlined in a previous post .. so, soon, I can call Spectrum and tell them to shove it up their ....

I will mention that the T-Mobile 5G Home Internet is getting me a consistent 300Mbps download speed (that's pretty fast) .. so, for an even $50 clams a month guaranteed rate, I'm a new fan of this service ..

Not good. Having been born in St. Louis, I expect the humidity is somewhere near 150% as well... and those night temps don't bode well to bring down the inside temps in the AM :(

'It's not the heat, it's the humidity ..'

Well, in this case, it's both ..

Morning, all.

Yeah, and sorry, when the heat it that high, with or without the humidity, it's STILL hot!!

We're getting wildfire smoke for a couple days, as the winds have shifted, so not just WA fires but smoke from Canada as well. Sheesh, over 1000 going up north. And a WA town close to obliterated.
