I have been so busy this week. I watered the geraniums on the front porch and I have reached my work quota for the day.

I have my yearly physical this afternoon. I detest going to doctors. I made my appointment with the NP because I feel like they listen better/longer. It's weird but I woke up at 3 with poison oak and a sore throat. It has been forever since I had a sore throat. Not sure what is up with that but I'll ask the doctor about it along with the numbness issue I am having from my charity bike ride.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Morning, all.

Still no rain, and the moderate temps are set to disappear for the weekend, back to low 90s for a couple days.

But good cool down overnight, so if only a couple days, we can still keep the house cool. Well, coolISH. ;)

Not much excitement happening today. I dug around the dogwood stump. It is bigger than the ones I have done before. I was getting pretty tired of using the mattocks and switched to the axe because it was a little lighter. I was getting ready to try to pull it up with the truck when my new squeeze called me. He told me he planned to come over tonight to see me and had a chain in his truck. His is a 4-wheel drive so it might make a difference.

He offered. I did not ask him to help me. He just asked me what I was doing when he called. It is probably time I let people help me, especially when they offer. I've just always had to do everything by myself or with someone telling me what to do.

Oh well, another day in the life of The Rat.

I'd say you need to except help when offered. You are not going to live your old life forever.

My yearly physical went very well yesterday, I think. I talked her into letting me stop taking BP meds last year so she was pleased that mine was 106/58. I really think walking helps. Plus I am not near as stressed out as I used to be.

I was scared of checking out because I was not sure what it would cost without insurance. I don't think they charge as much when you don't have it. I am not complaining. It was $141.00. I asked how much the 4 blood tests were going to be and she said that included everything. I think that was reasonable. I am 99.9% sure they charged a lot more when I had insurance. Oh well, I was grateful.

Chain and 4x4. Sounds like a good plan.

Although I hope he only has the chain, and not a whip ;)

I know you are right but it sure is hard to change. I think it makes me mad that I used to do things so easily and now it takes me a long time and an even longer time to recover.

Well, if he has both. . . that stump is going to have to wait til another day.

He did come over after work and it only took him 30 minutes to get the stump pulled up and he is even going to take the stump off for me. I would have gotten it done. I was halfway there but it sure was nice to see someone else swing the axe. I would have worked another half a day.

He brought stuff with him to spend the night so he took a shower and we went back to the place where he took me before that had such good quesadilla's. This time I got their onion rings too. Oh my. The best around here. I bought his supper to thank him for what he did. It made me feel better.

I was rather disappointed when he said he was going to have to work Saturday and Sunday. See what I mean? He just works too much. It is a good trait though in a man. I was sad about it until he told me he was going to have a long weekend for Labor Day. He asked me to go to Chattanooga TN because he still wants his family to meet me for some reason. This is going to be a short trip distance-wise. He said it would only take 5 1/2 hours to get there. Of course, you know I said I would go. Nuttin' gonna stop The Rat.

So, you have become a biker babe ;)
Why not? I read books about bikers and I like their "Me and Mine" attitudes. If a man wants to throw their leathers down for me. . . who am I to stop them?
    RatWhiskerTwitch.gif
heehee Guess I need to get some ink now. That was on my list of things I wanted to do long before I started dating a biker. I just can't make my mind about what I want. It has to have meaning. No one is going to see it but me and maybe a biker. heehee

Got up early so I could send my friend off with a full tummy. Fixed him french toast (glad I remembered how to make it) and fried apples. He ate it all so it must have been edible. It is nice having my coffee with a friend. A good way to start the day.

I have more poison oak breaking out this morning. Grrrr He said he had some too so I might have gotten it when I was helping him weed that nice couple's house. He thought it was so nice that I had sent them a thank you card. What does he expect from a proper Southern girl?
    1laugh.gif

He said Gladys was going to love it because she sat him down before he left to come here to work and told him she hoped he found a good girl to date. She told him to find her in a church and he found me at a bar but what the heck. . . he found me.

    Morning, all.

Still dry here, and the temp is said to be going back up. Wonder why they pay the weather guessers since nothing changes.

He did come over after work and it only took him 30 minutes to get the stump pulled up

A morning wake up tune. I don't think Johnny Cash envisioned this video accompanying this song.

    Hola ..

I'm gonna have to up my game ..

Also, in regard to the heat wave this week, which should end by tomorrow .. I have an ear worm in my head in that I keep hearing Roy Orbison sing 'Crying", only he sings 'Frying" instead ..

Good morning. Well, the boys are back home and we survived their stay for 4 days. It's so quiet in here this morning! We took them out for dinner at a local restaurant and they really did behave themselves so nicely. Mike took them to a park yesterday and they wanted to do some fishing there, but it was just too hot so they came home and stayed in the AC with their iPads.

Not much excitement happening today. I dug around the dogwood stump. It is bigger than the ones I have done before. Somewhere I read that it's a good thing to accept help from others. They wouldn't offer if they didn't want to do it. Why deny them the good feeling they'd get from helping you? I never thought of it that way so I've accepted help or a gift from another person knowing that in a way I was also giving them a gift.

    Morning, all.

Well, after checking my rain gauge, it seems our scattered shower (just after posting yesterday) might have been just under 0.01", the lowest it can record. Wow.

they are starting to mumble about real rain. Next week. Yeah, right.

    Hola .. :|

This is just one of those weekends when the St. Louis area is hoppin' .. you can take your pick of about anything from a Luke Bryan concert to a BBQ and Bourbon Fest and anything in between ..

Heading out with my long time female friend to take in the Festival of Nations .. just a great, overall fest that's about got it all ..

Then, it's off to see Matt “Rattlesnake “ Lesch Blues Band at BB's Jazz, Blues & Soups .. the best Blues Bar in the STL area ..

Weather is currently sublime, if not somewhat humid .. but still ..
