I think the AC has helped the poison oak. Or it is just getting better. I don't seem to be itching quite as bad. I hate that I get it now. I never got it when I was younger.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
I've somehow missed both poison oak and poison ivy. Just dumb luck, because I wouldn't recognize either.

As a child I used to walk in poison ivy and never got it. As an adult, I got it digging up a lilac tree.

When I was a Boy Scout back in the Revolutionary War days, the saying was 'Leaflets Three, Let it Be ..'

@Rat2chat2 - I found your next lawnmower. I'll bet your new friend would give it a thumbs up. It even a a double seat so he can ride behind you. ;)

I do like the new pink boots. As I was putting the Discovercard slip away, I noticed it was not enough. The little girl forgot to add the boots. So here I go back up to Gabe's to pay them for the boots. The girl who waited on me had gone home and another girl called the manager on the phone. She just charged the boots like a new purchase. Neither the manager on the phone or the sales girl said one thing about me coming back to pay. I thought that was rather rude. But I didn't do it for Gabe's, I did it for ME. And I asked for my senior discount.

Me too. My dad always got it really bad and I never got it so if he saw it, he would ask me to pull it up. I did not start getting poison oak until I was in my late 30's. This is starting to clear but I have had to go to the doctor a couple times for steroids to get rid of it.
I'll bet your new friend would give it a thumbs up.
And since I am still experiencing numbness from my first charity motorcycle ride. . . my new friend can use it all by himself. I will stick with the Exmark.

At least until I can move to where there will be no yard maintenance.

The a/c is working fine again. I have it on 76 and believe it or not, I am comfortable. Now this winter I will set it to 69 and be sweating. I have always said there is something wrong with my thermostat. I have been that way for as long as I can remember. As if you needed more proof that I am "unique".

My new friend said he had never met anyone like me. heehee I told him he probably never would. But he seems to like me anyway.

I swear it was getting better and tonight I wake up with new places itching. I haven't been working in the woods. The only thing I can think of is I carried my dirty laundry a couple of days ago when my a/c was out and I was not wearing clothes. Or maybe my rash is sort of slow like me.

I don't know.

Looking on the bright side, the 3 Benydrl I just took might just help me sleep.

Well, yesterday was interesting. We have 2 female tuxedo, mutt cats. They'll be 18 years old on 11/1. Our little Phoebe has been loosing weight the past 2 weeks. Monday night she didn't eat her dinner and didn't come up for treats before bed. Tues. morning she was lethargic and we took her to an emergency animal hosp. Long story short, she probably has pancreatitis. They kept her last night and we're waiting for a call this morning to see if the blood work done this morning had improved with the IV fluids they gave her last night. Poor baby. She usually sits on my lap while I'm trying to type on my laptop. Her sister is napping beside me and I told her Phoebe was in the hosp. She could care less.

Good for you. I probably would have done the same thing, but I'm shocked they didn't even thank you for being honest - especially since there's so much theft going on these days.

Yep, you're probably right. The oils from the plants that cause the itchy rash can be carried on clothes or the fur on our pets. Our neighbor was highly allergic to it and told me stories of having to deal with it. So sorry you're having the itches!

Happy "Early" 12-year Vape-a-versary Janet on September 1st.

I was afraid in my pre-adventure excitement I would forget and I happen to think it's pretty special. Just like you! View attachment 1000537
Oh my word. Hadn't even thought about it, but you're right. Should have known you'd remember given your attention to lists of reminders. Thank you so much. You're so sweet to remember. It's been a very interesting journey.

Morning, all.

Well, essentially no rain, our total here yesterday was just shy of a deluge, 0.05"....

And, of course, they're promising more. So heavy dew??

I was talking about my $5 coupon and she said if I was 55 she could give me another 10%.

I've heard (read?) that most places are forbidden from asking age, even to give a discount. Guess somebody took offense at "looking" old?? Sharp cashier to say "IF you were over..." :)

And yeah, they should have thanked you for being honest!!

Yes, I do keep good notes.

I think we have all had an interesting journey but what made it special were the people we met along the way. It is sad but I am not kidding when I say I feel like family is here.

The Benydrl finally helped me get to sleep but I might have scratched my cornea when I woke up. My eyes were so dry I had a hard time blinking. No excuse for it because I keep contact refresh drops beside my bed since I sleep in them a lot of the time. Just wasn't thinking. It will be okay. Not even the feeling of sand in one of my eyes going "jack my joy" about the upcoming trip.

I can't wait.

The last guy I dated was a truck driver and when he left to go back on the road, it didn't really bother me. I just kept on going. I haven't seen Ken since last Friday and I actually miss seeing him and talking with him. He is so easy to talk to and we agree on most subjects. I guess the best part is he seems like he listens to me. Not sure what is up with that but I like it. It takes a special person to be able to handle "The Rat".

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! We are expecting more rain this afternoon so I am not sure I can get the yard mowed but I'm going to try.

Hola .. :|

I started to feel old when places began giving me the 'Senior Discount' automatically ..

I'll tell you a really sad commentary on society .. used to, I'd ask if there was a Veterans Discount and if there was, places would give it to me .. now, when I ask, many ask for proof, and that's fine, I have a VA ID Card ..

The other day, a young woman asked, looking somewhat sheepish, for my VA ID and went on to explain that they get quite a few liars .. to which, I replied 'I would be happy to beat the snot out of those .. ' (not that I'm really much capable of beating the snot out of most people anymore unless they are using a walker)

It has been a busy day. I did a bunch of wash, changed my sheets, vacuumed, fixed dinner to take over to Ken's while he was at work, and then came home and did the riding part of the yard and edged the driveway and sidewalks.

I have been trying to use up the stuff in the freezer before they go bad. Ken had country-style steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, fried apples, and 5-cheese Texas Toast. Also included some sweet tea because he does not have anything like that in his fridge.

When he called tonight he said I was an amazing woman. (that's one I rarely hear) They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach so I guess I earned some points. He has been working so hard and I just wanted to help him. He said his stomach was full, he was in bed and he couldn't wait to see me tomorrow night. That right there made it all worth my effort.

I think tomorrow I am going to rest up for my trip. I'm sure I'll find something that needs to be done. Yeah, like get packed. I am once again going to try to pack light. It could happen.

Well, I am officially a Moosketeer/Moosette!

Got my email this morning. Like I said, I knew they would because they had already taken my money.

The wind woke me up this morning at 3:30 and I went out on the front porch. I forgot that I sat my geraniums on each side of the door so when I opened the screen door, I darn near soiled myself because we have critters around here. Oh well, the Blue Moon was huge but I did not think it looked blue.

Glad I got all the yard work done. Now I can spend all day trying not to pack too much for my trip. It is pretty difficult for someone with my idiosyncrasies.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
