Well, I have had a busy week. Cutting trees and stuff. So today I go to my aunt's to burn the brush pile that was mostly my stuff. Not a good idea to burn on a 92 degree day. Got finished getting it mostly burned and she said something about her camelia bush that needed trimming so I got that done for while I had the pile going. She is very appreciative and I enjoy helping her. Her kids sure don't.

Did some shopping and picked up a prescription then got me a Slushie (first on in a long time) and I was going home to get cool. Walked in the door and the house was hot as hades. Yep. A/C broken. From my googling, I have diagnosed the problem. I think my capacitor has gone kablooey. The unit runs outside with the fan turning but there is no air blowing out of the inside vents.

I sent a text to my a/c man and told him to put me on the list for next week. It costs more when they come out on the weekend and I can handle this. It has already cooled down to 84 and thank goodness I have a fan to use in the bedroom.

I am not going to let this upset me. I am too excited about leaving for TN again on Friday. Ken is taking me to Hixson. I think that is close to Chattanooga but I'm not sure. I will be meeting his father, daughter, and granddaughter. He must kinda like me or maybe he just misses his family and likes having a passenger to talk to. Either way, I am ready for another adventure.

Although it is hot, we had 3 1/2 inches in my gauge yesterday and right now it is thundering. We had a very bad storm last week too. Ken is working where they are building the new Toyota plant here and he showed me a picture of a row of the port-a-potty's and just about everyone was turned over from the storm. I have never used one but I don't think I would like sitting there trying to do my business and the darn thing turns over. Yuck. Ken said I would look like a smurf because of some kind of blue liquid they have in them.

I have a box of 80 icy pops in the freezer. I'll stay cool tomorrow somehow. And a lower energy bill is going to be nice too. Gotta find something positive. Something else positive. If I get too uncomfortable, my new friend is going to have a roommate. He keeps it on 69 and I freeze over there.

Had a little rain and thunderstorm a little while ago and it cooled it down. It was 81 on the front porch and 85 inside the house. I just ate a large quantity of ice pops and I'm cool on the inside anyway.

My a/c man called me last night and called again today to check on me. He said he was going to come by tomorrow. That's pretty quick. I will be glad to get it fixed.

Early start to my week since sleep was just not happening for me last night. Not sure if it is the warm house, the poison oak, or eating so much fried food for supper. Heck, it could just be that I am excited about my next adventure.

For us, it would be the hot sleeping conditions. Heck, mid-winter wee have bedroom windows open

Yay! Dental appointment done and I don't have to see the guy until February! I wished everyone Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas while heading out the door. Now to get this sticky fluoride stuff off my lips.

Why do people use the phrase "if you will"? I've heard it several times this morning in different contexts. Just strikes me as a stupid thing to say, but I guess it's better than saying um after every other word.

@Rat2chat2 , my sleep problem wasn't as bad as yours last night, but I did have a nightmare that jolted me awake at one point and it took a long time to get back to sleep. Hate it when that happens.

Glad to hear your AC guy will probably be showing up tomorrow. Maybe it's a good thing it's raining to help keep the heat at bay.

It was a good idea but it didn't happen. That's okay, cause I am hoping I will get some zzz's tonight.

The a/c is working and it did not need freon. The motor was the culprit. Thank goodness the parts are under warranty because he said the motor was around $800. I had to pay labor which was $330. I personally think he should have taken a little off because I helped him a lot. I borrowed his tools and took the unit screws out. Went to the truck and got something he forgot. Carried most of his tools back to the truck and gave him a cold water. But that is okay too. He is a nice man and I know he has some problems with his back so I wanted to help him. He did thank me and told me I was a heck of a helper.

You know how I always try to find a positive in a bad situation so. . . my electric bill may be a little cheaper and I won't have as much laundry because I haven't needed clothes around the house.

What is up with my sleeping? Maybe I am just too excited about my trip. I betcha I get a nap today. heehee Oh well, the coffee tastes pretty darn good this morning.

I think the AC has helped the poison oak. Or it is just getting better. I don't seem to be itching quite as bad. I hate that I get it now. I never got it when I was younger.

I cannot believe it is only Tuesday. Any other week goes from Monday to Friday in a blink of an eye.

Ok, all this talk of no clothes in the house has conjured up bad memories from 50 years ago. I had a neighbor who kept their house at 80 degrees and wore almost no clothes (she and her daughter). I never figured out what that was about but I hated to go over there. If I had stayed more than a couple minutes, I would have been taking clothes off too.

Well, I went shopping today to try to find something to wear on my trip to TN. I just love the thrift store I go to. I also went to Gabe's because I had a $5 off $25. I can't let that go to waste.

I probably should not have ventured over to the shoe section.

Yes, I came home with a pair of shoes and boots. But I had to because they were "pink".

The best part was my checkout. I was talking about my $5 coupon and she said if I was 55 she could give me another 10%. She did not wear glasses or anything so I don't know why she thought I was not a senior citizen. Of course, I got my additional savings. It sort of made me feel good.
