Peaceful cup of coffee coming up.
Isn't it wonderful? I love the quiet when I am having my coffee. Of course, I'm usually listening to music but that doesn't count as a disturbance.

So, even when it's hot out he won't play in the sprinklers?
Gosh, I used to love doing that when I was young. It is weird. I just thought about that the other day when Ken was washing the front of the house. I moved the washer and sprayed on. It still feels good.

Good question. Don't think they've bothered him in the past. Maybe sprinklers are ok because the water is not coming from dark clouds way up in the sky. He's not happy about waking up to a gloomy day.

Nicely done Willie.

What is that? Sounds delicious.View attachment 1001463
It's a cake made from a ton of egg whites (10 if I remember right) and ground walnuts. It's supposed to be layered with whipped cream for icing, but we've been known to just break off pieces and eat it. I justify eating it because of those healthy ingredients he he. Happy to give you the recipe if you're interested.

Well, probably not going to check that until next summer, and by then maybe he'll grow out of it :) Although proper respect for lightning is to be encouraged!

Good morning all. Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday. I have nothing planned yet but with me, you never know. I noticed the grass sure had grown in my absence so we may be doing yardwork today. Notice how I said "we". I am going to let Ken help if he offers. See? I'm learning to accept help and I must say it is nice.

 Friday hugs to all.

Morning, all.

Rain said to be backing off today, sunny for the weekend. And, for a change, more chances of rain here in the south Sound than points north. We'll take it :)

I noticed the grass sure had grown in my absence

I think it's genetically programmed to do that, not grow until you look away, sort of like that infamous watched pot.

Good morning all. We did not mow yesterday. Instead, we went riding which was way more fun. heehee He wanted to take his chopper out. Yes, the one where I ride on the fender. He did cut me a piece of thick, black foam rubber for me to sit on and it helped immensely. All I can say is I like riding my bike more.

My aunt got her well fixed from where she backed into it with her lawn mower. Bless her heart. She said she was going to put up a little fence around the well so that did not happen again. I do not have a fence around that clothesline pole I hit and I never get anywhere near it.

Some accidents, you just learn from.

Went to a new place to eat last night and they had a band too. The burger was not bad but I doubt I ask to go back there. I liked the tater tots but Ken said they were too spicy. To me, they were just too greasy.

Nothing planned for today really so I guess I will just play it by ear. I do have laundry to do again. Sheesh! I definitely have more now.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

Morning, misfits.

Rain seems to be done for a couple days, returns on Monday if they're right. Hope we're back on schedule, several days of rain then a few sunny ones, then more rain. Still way behind on the "season"...

Yeah, riding on a chunk of steel's not my idea of fun, either! Just don't lose the pad on a big bounce!

Sorry David, guess we got your rain, everyday for the past week. This morning we woke to a beautiful sunny day.

The street you turn up to get to our street is called Deer Drive. You'd think we'd be seeing a lot of deer, but we've been here since June and only now are we seeing one or two. We had more deer in our back yard at our old house!

Yesterday our little guy, Brody, fell off the monkey bars. Our daughter took him to the ER and, yep, his arm is broken. He now has a cast from his hand up to his arm pit. Poor little guy. The family is coming here today and I thought about going to the park with them, but I guess that's out since Brody can't climb all over the playground equipment. I also guess he's not going to be going to gymnastics this session or T-ball practice. Hope she can get a refund.

That's OK, Janet, you're not in charge of the weather :) And we did get a few days of nice rain, slow and steady. Yesterday was dry, today said to be, rain back Monday :)

The street you turn up to get to our street is called Deer Drive. You'd think we'd be seeing a lot of deer,

A few miles from us is an area known as Elk Plain. No elk. I suspect that there were lots back 100 years, and only the name stuck. Either hunted out or moved away from the pesky humans.

Bummer about Brody.
or T-ball practice.

But he has a built in bat!

It was another great weekend for me. It's sort of funny for someone who does not drink to spend so much time at bars.
1laugh.gif
I honestly did not know there were so many bars around. Someone mentions a particular place that I have never heard of and you know I want to check it out.

We did finally go out a a regular kind of date Saturday night. We went to my favorite restaurant Bonbon's. I had been telling him how much I loved their baby back ribs. I was so relieved when he said I had been right and we would be coming back. Whew! If he had not liked them, that might have been a deal breaker.

Yesterday we went back to our regular Sunday bar that always has a live band. I did not play any cornhole this time but still had a great time. Last night one of the bars had a bunch of free food and it was so good. Someone told us about another place that I had never heard of so we left and went there. It was awesome. The people were very nice. They had two guys playing who were amazing. I love watching people play.

The best part was they had the most comfortable couch and this man had a big dog whose name was Boudreaux. He cuddled up beside me and slept. Every time I stopped rubbing him, he would look up at me until I started rubbing him again. The owner said he was spoilt rotten and I believe it. I loved it though. Ken said he was jealous because every time he would go outside to smoke, I would stay and I always follow him.

We were on his chopper last night. (my .... sure did miss mine) but it was kind of nice because I cannot tell you how many people came up and said something about it. There were even people that asked him if they could take a picture of it. You really do not see that many choppers around here. I can't remember if I posted a pic of it here but here it is again. It is a Spencer Bowman motorcycle. They are actually manufactured close to here.

The yard work got postponed due to the weather. It was perfect for riding this weekend. It does not even bother me. It will get done. I just did laundry and I have another load to do this morning. Now that bothers me a tiny bit.
1YES.gif

It now does not bother me that I had to make Dad put on clean clothes. He would have worn the same thing all week if I would have let him. heehee

Another long post from The Rat. Sorry.

A new week and I hope everyone has a beautiful start. Oh, I almost forgot. . . "Good morning."

Believe it or not, it stays on amazingly well. He said he would get me one that has suction cups but I do not want the paint messed up so the pad is just fine. I do go airborne on bumps and it sure helps on the landing.

Bless his little heart. I hate it happened but at least it did not happen at the beginning of the summer and all the hot weather. I remember when my son broke his arm camping on two different occasions. Needless to say, we stopped camping but it was no fun with the heat. My son was weird (imagine that) but he thought it was cool to have a cast. I have never had one and it is NOT on my bucketlst.

Maybe more rain today. Maybe not.

Free food is always good. Not having to do the dishes is, too :)

Put the suction cups facing up?

Good morning. Boy is it foggy outside! Yesterday and for the next 2 days it's going to be in the low 80s - is this Indian Summer? I'm looking forward to some cooler weather to get the flower beds cleaned up for the winter. The birds have done a pretty good job of cleaning off the flower seeds so now the empty stalks need to go and, of course, those pesky weeds just keep growing.

On Saturday our contractor was supposed to be here to install new faucets and shower heads. Nick called and said he was sick so now he's supposed to come Thurs. or Fri. this week. I sure hope he's able to come. We have those awful ball faucets and we hate 'em!! Just can't get those stupid things to regulate properly. Then I want to talk to him about doing some other stuff too. I need an estimate of the cost so we know how long we need to save up to get the work done.

And who, pray tell, would be brave enough to pull it off of me?

You know how crazy I think sometimes (most of the time) but I asked Ken if he thought I should get a pair of those panties that have the fake .... in them. Hey. It could work.
