Ken thought his speeding ticket court was today so that is what we have been planning. I missed Bike Week at the beach because of it. Well, he got the paper out to check the time and it is November 2 and not yesterday. Oh well, he said we could still go until last night. His dad called and is having surgery Friday so we are headed to Chatanooga TN tomorrow. Not exactly sure how long we will be gone. It depends on how well his dad does and if his daughter needs us to help while she works.

His dad is 89 and has had a quadruple bypass. He is also a diabetic who does not exactly watch his diet to well (IMO). I am not sure how many times a day he gives himself shots but I saw that he did. I would so hate to have to do that daily.

Good thoughts from you all. I am a firm believer that it makes a difference.

    Morning, all.

Rumor has it the rain will back off for a while. Nice and normal day yesterday, for a change. Light rain all day and most of the night, nearly an inch and no deluge to run away :)

That is spot on for me. Yesterday a cs called to ask about a really bad review I gave Walmart. She apologized, duh, what was the point.

Yesterday Ken said we should do yardwork but then he offered to cook supper for me and I told him I would mow while he prepared it. (I got the best end of the deal).
    1YES.gif

He fixed meatballs that were wrapped up in cabbage and then put in a big pot with sour kraut over it and I am not sure what else. He said that he thought it was a Polish dish that his mother used to make him when he was a boy. I thought that was so sweet of him.

We ate early and stayed up late watching Yellowstone (he had never seen it). So he made us some sandwiches out of that dish and let me tell you, it was delicious. We have two big containers of it left over and I am glad he made such a big serving because I heard him tell his dad that he had made it and he was going to bring him and his daughter some of it. It is little things like that that make me think he is a good guy. The jury is still out but I think he may be good for me. Only time will tell. I am happy today and that is all that matters.

It only takes me an hour to do the riding part of the yard but after I finished with the backfield, Ken brought me a big glass of tea. It really was not hot at all and I was not thirsty but that is the first time anyone has ever done that for me when I was working. It felt weird but in a good way.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

They used to always be about my dad. I guess Ken has taken his place.

Hope you all have a great day.

I don't think I have told y'all all the hoops I have been jumping through to get dad's stock in my name only and his estate settled. I am still trying to figure out what the lawyer has done. I thought I had it all taken care of until today and me and dad got a statement. They did not close his account out. After talking to several people and coming really close to losing my positive attitude and patience, I think I finally have it taken care of. We will know in a week to 10 days when they send me the confirmation I requested. Fingers crossed.

Ken decided he wanted to leave around 3 in the morning so we will get there early. He is driving so it does not matter to me. So I have had all day to pack. Again I may be taking too much but he cannot tell me how many days we will be there. I am only taking a week and a half of medication so that's when we are coming back.

I think it is a good thing that he is so carefree and does not fret over anything. I am hoping some of that will rub off on me. I have always been so darn structured and maybe even a little OCD. heehee

Ken suggested we burn my aunt's brush pile this morning so that is what we did. I stepped into one of those places in the ground where those pesky little fire ants live. They got my ankles pretty good. It is amazing that something that tiny can hurt that bad. I tried to stomp them off but they hang on so I ended up killing some of them. Looks like I would learn to wear socks and long pants. I never will.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

    Morning, all.

Break between fronts continue, and they haven't reneged on the guess for rain to be back Monday.

And two weeks of vape stuff? :)

    Morning, all.

Summer is back, for a few days. Might even break into the 70s today ad tomorrow, cool and damp again by Monday.

Some day the burn ban might even get lifted. Long dry summer means I have a rather large debris mountain waiting for a match.

I am on my phone so I don't know if I'm doing this right. I'm at the hospital in the waiting room and thought I'd say hello.

Wednesday Ken wanted some him time, which is fine with me. He said he would not be gone long. I ran an errands and it was close to a store I had been wanting to go to.

When I got home,he still was not there. good and bad news. Here is the bad news. Ken had a motorcycle crash. Luckily he was only going 5 mph. He was going around a speed bump and a critter ran our in front of him and he lost control and ended up in the big ditch. The bike is fine but I took him to the emergency clinic yesterday because I knew he had broken a rib. He had 3 broken ribs. Bless his heart. I know how painful it is because I took care of my mom's when she broke two.

Oh the good news. . . I was at home and he was not on my bike. heehee. Bad joke but I couldn't stop myself. Looking on the brightside though for him, I am a professional caregiver, imo. I had another bad joke this morning. I asked Ken if he knew of any pinchbikers. heehee I sure am going to miss riding.

That's all for now. BBL

Ouch. What does that do to the upcoming trip? Going by car?

    Morning all,

Pleasant weather here, still between fronts. Claim is for a dry weekend, maybe even getting into the 70s ;) Rain back Monday, but the maps indicate that will more likely be showers.

But enough recent rain, and much cooler temps, they've lifter the burn bans. The mountain has been growing since June... so that's on deck for next week.

    Happy Birthday, Janet. :bday: :bday:

    Happy b'day, Janet!

    Happy Birthday, Janet! :bday:
Thank you so much everyone! Yes, it was lovely and I still have a present coming so there's still something to look forward to. The family all came on Sunday and then on Wed., my actual birthday, I made fried chicken livers and rice for dinner. It's been years since I had them. Yummm! One of my favorite shows, Forged in Fire, finally started airing their new season on Wed. and the Phillies won so that made it a GREAT day!

Oh no! So sorry to hear about Ken's accident. Yeah, broken ribs are really painful and there's not much you can do about it but wait for them to heal. He's lucky there wasn't a vehicle involved. I know he's in good hands with you taking care of him!!

In other news, sorry to hear about those nasty ants! I stepped on one of those nests while walking across my sister's yard and got a couple bites on my toes. Sheesh! It was awful and they bothered me for quite awhile. You're right, they seem so tiny to cause that much trouble. Hope you find something to put on the bites to give you some relief.
