Good morning all.

It is cold here too in Hixson, TN. (close to Chattanooga) It is 40 degrees. Rather brisk when I go outside to vape. It is supposed to get up to 76 today so I will try to get my walk in during the hot part of the day. That is perfect weather if you ask me.

I asked my aunt to take home my geraniums and put them in her garage. I don't think they can take cold below 55 degrees. If they are deceased when I get back, I am not going to be upset. I was just trying to save them for next year because it is the first potted plants that I think cost too much. It is a shame what they charge at nurseries. I love going to them and looking through at all the beautiful flowers. The colors are amazing.

I think Ken slept a little better last night. He went through the night without all his pain meds. He got up this morning at 6 to go to the restroom so I gave him a handful. He is sleeping really soundly right now. He is doing really well with his deep breathing exercises on the meter the hospital sent home with him. I have the same one at home from mom and dad. I still do not like the sound when he coughs. I think it is because it hurts so bad, that he cannot cough hard enough to expel it. I have been giving him hot drinks and he took a hot shower last night. I hate to give him any otc meds for it since he is taking so many other things that the two ER visits gave him. Maybe he will be better when he awakens. I hope so.

Hope everyone has a great day. I am going to.

Rain is on the schedule, not here yet.
I sure hope it makes it your way. Even as bad as I feel when it rains, I am grateful for the rain we have. It just seems like we have more rain than we used to. It also seems like we have more wind. Weird. When I was little, we hardly got a good breeze in the summertime and so humid. Now, some days when I walk, it feels like I am at the beach (if I close my eyes) because there is a constant breeze. I do like it and I am not complaining.

Good morning everyone.

What a beautiful morning it has been. Ken slept pretty well, meaning I slept pretty well even though I had been sleeping on the floor. I got up early had my coffee, and had my 10,000 steps in before 9. Ken slept in the recliner the first two nights and then graduated to the couch. No complaints here. I have been fine on the floor. The hardest part is wearing pajamas to sleep in.

I thought we were going to be leaving today to go to Waverly, TN. That is what he said last night when I asked if I would be sleeping in a bed tonight. This morning he told his daughter we would be staying another night. It should be a good thing that I am being exposed to being flexible but for some reason, the transformation is rather difficult for me. Time will tell. I am handling it as well as I can.

Got out yesterday afternoon (it was beautiful) and weeded and decorated a flower bed in front of the house at the mailbox. I enjoyed that because I have been needing to get out of the house for something other than walking. It ended up looking nice. It had the skeleton head and hands coming out of the dirt in a big pot and of course, spider webs and spiders. Pretty purple and black flowers also. I think she enjoyed someone helping her and maybe even having another female around.

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

I do not watch horror movies but evidently Ken likes them. I have heard about The Shining with Jack Nicholson before but I have never seen it. That is what we are watching now. I hope I can sleep tonight. heehee It might not scare me. We'll see. I am more of a comedy and romance kinda of gal.

They wanted KFC for supper. I wanted a salad so Ken's daughter said there was a place that had a strawberry salad so we both got that. It had grilled chicken on top and was very good but rather expensive. I told her I wanted to buy her supper and it was $25. But it was good and we both enjoyed it.

Hope everyone sleeps well and has a wonderful day.

After spending 5 nights sleeping on the floor with just my pillow and blanket (that I brought from home), I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to sleeping in a bed tonight.

We will be leaving this morning and headed to where Ken lives which is another 3 1/2 drive. It is so weird to think of how long Tennessee is. The place that we stayed last time (the little diner-themed apartment on the Duck River, is occupied this time so we will have to rent a room somewhere. As long as it has a bed, I don't care where we stay.

I watched a scary movie last night. We watch The Shining with Jack Nickelson. I did not really think it was that scary. A little eerie maybe. I had only seen the commercial for it where Jack is tearing down the door with an ax.

There is something else that has changed for me. I have never been one to watch that type of movie. They laughed at me and asked what rock I had been living under when they found out that I had never seen The Exorcist. I am not sure I want to see that one. I only told his daughter that I had only seen the Wizard of Oz up to the point where the flying monkeys appeared on the yellow brick road. For some reason, I can remember them scaring me when I was very little. Maybe that is why I have never been a big fan of scary movies. Who knows? My weirdness (uniqueness) has never been in question.

Good morning. Although it's only 48 right now it'll be going up to 70 with scattered clouds. It's a beautiful Fall day.

Yesterday I dug out our Halloween decorations and threw 1/2 of them away. Can't believe we actually moved them here, but they were already packed and we were into packing mode so they came. Good thing I ordered a few new ones from our craft store. I guess it looks appropriately decorated out front. Wonder how many Halloweenies we'll get in this neighborhood. Although our little property is fairly level the other houses sit on pretty substantial hills so I don't know how many will brave the trek.

We bought a lovely build-it-yourself hutch from IKEA on Monday and Mike and I (mostly Mike) put it together Tues afternoon, Good thing we had a crackpractor appointment yesterday. We were contorted in all kinds of positions to build it. Wonder if yoga has names for some of them. Fortunately the silly directions worked and the hutch looks beautiful.

It's been many years since I've been to that store and now I remember why. They have all kinds of furniture set up so you have to walk through all the "rooms" to see what they had. They have everything from furniture to sheets to silverware and lots of storage solutions. Problem was we got lost-several times. We had to ask other shoppers where to pay and how to get out of there. We finally got our sheet of paper saying what we wanted to buy, then had to find the self check out to pay and then had to wait on a couch while staff found the boxes and brought them out to us. Amazing how a large hutch could fit in 3 rather small boxes. What an ordeal. I did see a cabinet that would be nice to store my craft stuff, but think I'll just order it online and just go to the loading dock to pick it up.

Good morning
I admit I have gotten really bad about reading and not posting.

Yesterday I met with sister at my folks house to yard sale some stuff...mercy it was very humid !
We didn't do very well even tho it was a community sale
My folks are doing fine in their "old folks home"
There is so much stuff to deal with - thank goodness my sister is taking it mostly all on.

Work is stressful crazy.. Migration to a new management system was all messed up - so...they are backing it out and attempting to redo it...I sure hope it takes this time.

We are trying to sell Steve's truck - my dad gave him his car since he isn't driving anymore so it's a really nice upgrade for him.
So glad to hear from you! Glad you're doing well aside from the stress.

I've never seen The Shining or The Exorcist either! Life is scary enough without watching scary movies although The Wizard of Oz was pretty low on the scary scale for me.

Morning, all.

Looks like a break in the rain, so probably going to assault the burn pile today. Finally. :)

Fortunately the silly directions worked

I think that's a first time!

Good morning. It's a chilly 49 here, going up to a sunny 64. Then it looks like it's going to be gloomy here for the next week or so.

Our contractor said he'd be back today to do the other faucets in the 2 upstairs bathrooms and if I get the paint he would paint our powder room too. So guess where I'm headed this morning! I decided to paint the powder room in a dark red called Beetroot. Where do they come up with these paint names? Anyway the trim is all white so I think it'll look lovely (sure hope so).

My ghosts and skeletons arrived yesterday so I put them out and now we're ready for Halloween. So far I haven't run into any neighbors to ask how many kids to expect so I might end up with a bunch of candy. Guess the grandkids will benefit because our diets surely won't.

This afternoon I'll be headed down to our daughter's house. Hux has a baseball game at 5:30 and we haven't seen him play yet so that should be fun. It's a beautiful day for a ball game.

Speaking of which, our Phillies won their game last night so they advance to play the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tues. Unfortunately the game doesn't start until 8:00 p.m. which makes for a late night for us, but that's a small price to pay for some excitement. GO PHILS!!

Morning, all.

Looks to be another nice day here, dry, temps in the mid 60s :)

Rain said to come back tonight, random showers for the next week. We'll take it!

My ghosts and skeletons arrived yesterday so I put them out and now we're ready for Halloween.

And in a few weeks, the skeletons will be in the closet :)

Morning, all.

More rain here, glad to see it and glad I got most of the burn pile burned :) Looks to be a while before the rest gets to where it doesn't drain when picked up. No rush, we need the water more than I need the space around the burn pit :)
