Whoa, chilly 58 and breezy here, but at least the sun pokes through now and then.

I went to our daughter's home to watch the boys yesterday, but they said they wanted to come to our house. Ok. Man, trying to get out of the house with a 4 and 7 year old is like trying to herd cats. Then our daughter came here after the science fair at the hospital and we all had a sleep over. We all enjoyed ourselves. They just left so we're back in quiet mode again and the next order of business is to take a nap.

Back to everyday life. The traveling laundry is all done. You really mess up a lot of clothes when you leave your house. heehee

All in all, we had a very nice trip. Ken's dad is recovering nicely and getting stronger every day. Ken is doing remarkably well with 3 broken ribs. I am thinking that I need to stay home some and start back to emptying this house. I have not done anything since I met Ken. It is time to get back on it.

Only supposed to get up to 59 today. I don't mind the cooler weather but I sure dread getting up everyone else's leaves. I had turned everything off when we left so the house was a little chilly when we got back. Time to turn on the heat.

I was sort of tired of eating out so much so last night I got out a frozen container of spaghetti. I sure do like having something quick and warm like that to fix on nights that you are tired.

Hope everyone has a nice Monday.

Best Halloween ‘decoration’ ever. Driving home at dusk last night along a tree lined road - I caught a glimpse of this in my peripheral vision. ‘Oh my God, Big Foot is real’. That lasted 1/4 second but it really caught me off guard.

Well, it might make it less of an oven in the attic, if you're not done there ;)

You got that right! I have finished going through all the deteriorating boxes and the stuff is just laid out in categories down the entire attic. I still have 3-4 chests to go through. No telling what is in them. I better get up there because at some point, it might be too cold to work up there.

Glad I have some help now (maybe). I was wondering how I was going to get the broken Lazyboy recliner down. Yes, when my father's recliner broke and he bought a new one, he put it upstairs. Sheesh! I doubt I could get down the steps with that Royal typewriter. It is cast iron, I think, and weighs a ton. So many interesting things up there. I just wish I knew where some of it came from. Most will remain a mystery. It is amazing how much we collect over the years. I am not attached to any of it so I am going to start fresh somewhere. That is the plan.

Almost a good afternoon here. I am being lazy this morning. I have wash going again. I sure do have more. Have no plans for the day so I guess I will just see what happens. It is NICE to not have plans.

Hola .. :|

PBS is offering the most excellent new documentary by Ken Burns, 'The American Buffalo' for free stream currently .. I highly recommend it, as I do about anything by Mr. Burns and his team ..

Morning, lizards.

Might see some sun today, nice deluge yesterday :) Didn't start until after noon, got about 1 1/8" in a few hours, then back to drizzle overnight.

We'll take it :)

That's so funny, Mike always calls my yarn work knitting and I don't knit, I crochet. Just 1 hook, no long needles.

He had a recliner in the attic? He sounds like Mike! He didn't have a recliner, but he did have tires in ours. We had 3 attics in our old house so you can just imagine what his clean out was like. He inherited that disease from his parents. When an appliance couldn't be fixed anymore they'd go into the attic, get the original box it came in, box it up and put it back in the attic.

Hope you run across a painting or something that turns out to be worth a fortune!!

I love having nothing planned for the day. Somehow I always manage to fill up the day, but it seems like the older I get the more I like free styling my day.

Morning, all.

Looks to be a dry day here, seems the latest storm is pointed more to the north, and much of it heading into western Canada. They need it too, I think they still have a lot of fires going...

Somehow I always manage to fill up the day, but it seems like the older I get the more I like free styling my day.

Been getting more and more like that, ever since I retired :) And, of course, now that we're back in "typical" weather (sort of, maybe...) that can change plans by the minute.

we can learn much about ourselves in many cases ..

Yup. I think that's part of his "plan." :)

Ken thought he was going to mow the yard yesterday but I would not let him. I didn't think it would be good on his ribs even though they are doing very well. I have been doing it for so long that it was not a big deal. It was the 21st time I had mowed it this year. I hope his ribs are all healed by the time the leaves fall. I will gladly let him help.

Bought a rotisserie chicken at Sam's and it was so good. It is nice to know that there is one thing that has not increased in price. They are still $4.95.

Last night, I took the leftover chicken and made a pot pie. I used the Red Lobster Cheddar Biscuit mix for the topping and it was pretty darn good. I took my aunt a big bowl of it and she called me and told me how good it was. It is so nice to do nice things for people that appreciate it.

I went to bed tonight and went to sleep but woke up after just an hour and a half. I hate that. I tried to go back to sleep but could not. I guess I will try again. I am cold for some reason. Guess it is the change in the weather.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

Morning, all.

Another sunny day (well, not raining ;) ) then back to rain.

I didn't think it would be good on his ribs even though they are doing very well.

Sounds like the right idea. No reason to push his luck! And definitely want him up to snuff by leaf time!

Gold morning folks. A sunny morning here in PA. Janet wants to paint the front door today. Me? I don’t make any decisions until my 2 cup of coffee has been downed.
If you drink that 2nd cup slow enough I'll be all done by the time you're done. Actually he located the painting supplies for me and then went off to do his thing while I got the door painted. It looks so much nicer now. I painted it the same black as before and it's going to look great when the skeleton ghost gets hung on it.

I don't like that the days are getting so much shorter. It's dark when I wake up in the morning and it gets dark while I'm making dinner. Feels like I just got over complaining about the summer heat. Just no pleasing me!!
