Morning, all.

Crisp overnight, as in 28, and soaring into the 40s.

Guess it's time to bring in the hoses :)

Seems I've not had enough tootsie-pops to find that 30%!

OK the Indian made me remember this one. Does anyone remember playing 'Hits or Cracks'?

Back when I was in grade school in the 50s, I would play “Hits or Cracks” with my Grandfather who smoked Camel cigarettes. At the time, Camel cigarette packs had either the letter H or C under the tax stamp. You'd peel back the tax stamp to see the letter, which supposedly identified the factory. It only worked for Camel packs.

The idea was to guess the letter. My Grandfather would ask me Hits or Cracks when he opened a new pack. If I got it right I could hit him in the shoulder.

There really is an indian on the TootsiePops! We went trick or treating with our grandsons to the shops in town yesterday. When we got back to the house I checked out their bags and pulled out an orange pop and sure enough, there was the Indian!! Guess I was always more interested in getting to the pop inside and never paid attention to the wrapper.

Poor Brody, he really is bothered by the rain. It had rained in the morning, but mostly stopped for the afternoon. As soon as the 1st drop hit him he grabbed his mother and told her they had to go home right away. She made him put his pirates hat back on and that seemed to help, but it didn't take long before he was done with that and wanted his raincoat with the hood. No way I'd give him my umbrella! That's a dangerous weapon in the hands of an active 4 year old!

We'll be going to our son's house Halloween night. Can't imagine we'd be getting many kids at our house due to the location, but our son's house gets lots of them so we're going to go there. I like seeing the kids come to the door all dressed up in their costumes.

Anybody here know about Trunk or Treats? Mike and I went to the elementary school for it and it was great. Some people really went all out decorating their trunks! It was a lot of fun.

Never heard of Hits or Cracks and both my parents smoked camels. No accounting for taste - my father drank Ballentine Beer.

Morning, lizards.

Another cool night, 27 atm, heading back to the mid 40s. Claim is another couple days of this, then back to "seasonal" temps and rain :)

No, never played that one, Mike! Nobody smoked Camels ;)

I'll do anything to keep from doing the filing. I ran out of excuses so applied myself to the task. Was making good progress when I got a call from our son-in-law. Our daughter works at a children's hospital and started having intense chest pain so they took her down to the ER and then transferred her by ambulance to a regular hospital. She steadily improved and her tests came back normal so after spending a few hours in the ER hallway they sent her home.

Needless to say, as soon as I hung up the phone we jumped into high gear and headed out for the 40 minute drive to our daughter's house to watch the boys while hubby went to the hospital. They got home just as the boys finished up their baths so now they're in bed. My vote is that it was a pinched nerve in her spine. She's been having a lot of trouble with her low back especially lately.

So, I'm staying here tonight. Mike will come back to get me in the morning when presumably I'll resume my filing,

I have returned once again and ridden over 1,000 glorious miles on my Harley. I could not have ordered better weather. I suggested getting some plug-in heat suits for the Winter but it did not go over well. Go figure.

Another good thing happened while I was gone. Another deputy called me in TN and informed me that they had found my Honda. It was stashed behind a deserted house. There was another car stolen not far from me. He seems to think it is gang-related. They are looking for guns (which mine is always on me) and vehicles that can be used in the future when they do something illegal. I still cannot believe it was taken from my driveway.

I was going to have to pay for towing and storage. I tried to talk them into me giving them my credit card and them towing it to my house but they would not. The deputy called me back again and said because they did not follow procedure on my case that the Sheriff's department would pay the cost of towing and storage if I gave them permission to break into my car to dust it for prints. Well, that is a no-brainer. That saved me $282.00. It does not seem fair for the victim to be punished. I was lucky and I am grateful.

There are several new scratches but the only thing I found missing was my 4-in-1 battery charger which I really liked and my cell phone charger. Both can be replaced. I spent all afternoon cleaning it out. The little thugs did not even take the $50 gift card from Hobby Lobby. Guess they were not into crafts.

We ended up staying a lot longer than we planned. I thought it was just going to be one night. When we left last Wednesday, it was 52 degrees and I was not sure how cold it would be. I had on 2 pairs of socks, 3 pairs of pants, and 4 shirts and my jacket. We had to stop not too far down the road for me to take some of it off. But it worked out very well because I wore my extra day's clothes instead of packing them. I had clean clothes the whole trip.

Going to be busy this week catching up with stuff around the house and Ken has his court date on Thursday from where he got the speeding ticket. It is only 50 miles away. That is nothing to me.

The weather changed tonight and it is chilly. That drastic change always makes me hurt.

Guess it is that time of year.

Missed everyone and am glad to be back for a little while although, I would go anywhere if I were asked.
