Still struggling with the loss of a dear friend and former supervisor. She was a feisty, fun loving, caring, artistic and wonderful person. She lost her hubby 3 years ago, they were the sweetest couple. He was a former Franciscan Priest who left the order to marry her. Her daughter is also an artist and between the two of them, every wall in her house was covered in paintings, photography they had made. She also made beautiful pottery and knitted lovely blankets and hats. So very talented. She will be so missed by so many.

    Morning, all.

Rain continues, so temps are up a bit. Mid 40s overnight, probably mid 50s for the high.

Uh, why not? Unless your goal is to lure them in for dinner...
I read that it makes them rely on us for food. I don't know about that.
f you do, only put out a little at a time.
Thanks. That is what I am doing. They come to eat out in the field beside the house but I am planning on putting a little corn closer and closer to the house so they will come in the front yard to eat hopefully. They know we are sitting on the front porch but they don't mind us. I know they smell Ken's cigarette. I know I do. It is so funny to think that I smoked for 40 some years and now I think they stink. I am going to keep letting him take a little toot of mine and maybe he will give it a try. I will not harp on it but I really do wish he would. Mainly because of the cost. It is ridiculous.

So sorry for your loss. It sounded like she was special to everyone she knew. Aren't you lucky to have been her friend? I am sure the happy memories will help you. At least it has helped me. I think it is so wonderful to be remembered.

Not sure if I told you I was having a double date last night or not but we had a great time with Sharon and the two Ken's. Sharon is the sister of the old friend I went out to eat with for a couple of months.

It took a long time for the food last night but that was okay with me because we had time to cut up and catch up.

Sharon had met my Ken one time but this was the first time her Kenny had met him and they hit it off just like I knew they would. They both tell korny jokes. heehee When Ken went outside to smoke, he told me he really like him. I guess I have their blessing. A little weird since I dated her brother but it did not seem to matter.

We had ribs again. It was okay with me because they are so good. Sharon and Kenny got two different chicken wraps which I had never tried before. I will try them next time I go there. There were huge. They each could only eat half. I don't even think I could eat a whole one. They were that big and just loaded with chicken. Yum.

After supper, they had to go to Hobby Lobby. We went to a bar I have been to several times and there was a band playing live. They were all older people but they were good and I enjoyed listening to them. They played til 11 and that is when we left. Ken had had several beers last night. He was not drunk or anything like that but I told him I was going to drive home. He said that was a good idea. I thought so too. I only eat ice there and I am not a drinker so it works out nicely.

I saw the man that Ken helped put my ac unit in a while back. He could not believe my vehicle had been stolen either. Did not get to talk to him too much because he was at the little betting machine. I am not even sure what they call them. I have never played them. I like my money too much.

Saturday night and we just stayed home. Ken started watching the series Viking. It was okay. A little too much beheading for me.

It must be pretty good because it has a bunch of seasons for us to walk.

Hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday. Since I did so much long overdue housework yesterday, I think I will take a day of rest.

Good morning. It's 38 here, going up to 64 and sunny.

The wind has died down so it'll be a good day to finish up blowing all the leaves to the curb. How nice that the township comes around and sucks them all up. Probably helps to keep the culverts from getting clogged up when it rains. Our last house had pine trees around the perimeter of the property so we didn't have a leaf problem, but this house has LOTS of trees. We like the trees so it's the price we have to pay to live in their midst.

I went to our daughter's house on Fri. to watch the boys for the night. She was in FL for work for 3 days and hubby had to get up at 3:00 a.m. on Sat. to get ready for work. Ugh! It's the life of a pilot.

I got home about noon yesterday. Ahhh, peace and quiet. The boys are great, but their energy is exhausting. I brought in all the Halloween decorations, put up my fall wreath and finished up the laundry I started before I left on Friday.

@rosesense I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. We've lost close friends and know it's very hard, but I agree with Torey, how lucky you were to have her as a friend. I hope the good memories with her brings you comfort.

@Rat2chat2 Wow, I'm shocked that they only fined Ken $10!! Never would have thought that would happen, he got off easy.

Backing up few days to Halloween. Janet mentioned how many people decorated their front yards and were sitting by their fire pits giving out candy. Well I think I found the real life Adams Family here in Downingtown. (this will be a multi-post of pictures.

    You entered the living room.

Then passed through to the dinning room.

    Morning, all.

Thankfully more rain, but temps are running about 10 over normal. Not good for snow pack, but, well, we'll take the water anyway.

If what you're putting out is more of a supplement, I don't think that's a huge issue.

Yep, right approach to getting Ken off cigs. Pressure won't work, as most of us know!

Good morning all. I have been up all night binge-watching tv. Ken just went to bed but I feel like it is time for my coffee. heehee I haven't pulled an all-nighter in a long time.

I was going to have a peaceful day but I ended up being busy. Isn't that the way it always happens? I got up and started cutting up all the ingredients for my soupish dish. Kielbasa, cabbage, onion, potato, green beans, and corn. Put it together with 3 cans of tomato sauce and a 1/2 cup of sugar. It really is pretty good. Ken liked it.

I went to my aunt to take her some and she and my cousin invited us to go out to eat with them. I came home to get Ken and he said he had already eaten a big bowl and was not hungry. He did not wait for me to eat. Oh well, I told him I was going and out the door, I went. We went to Bonbon's and I had one of those huge chicken wraps. Kenny and Sharon brought half theirs home but I sat there and ate the whole thing. It was nice just being with "the girls".

My aunt's new cat came and got on my lap. Gwen said she had not gone to anyone else. I guess cats like me. I had 7 at one time a long time ago. I'll enjoy hers. I definitely do not need an animal right now.

I should be sleepy but I'm not. I'll try but if I can't go to sleep I'm going to get my coffee.

When I got home, I made macaroons for the first time and they turned out amazing. I put chocolate chips in mine because Ken said he likes Almond Joys. He was impressed with those too. I better stop impressing him because I don't want it to be a habit.
