And banks of these bundles power electric cars. You surely don't want a run -away battery with all those in the trunk of your car. Was it the Ford Pinto that had such an issue with the gas tank blowing up in a rear end collision?

Nothing but rain today. Big yuck from me. Never could get comfy last night so I am hoping I sleep a little better tonight.
I sure am glad I went to WallyWorld yesterday to pick up what I needed for Thanksgiving at my aunt's.

It is all foggy tonight also. I guess the deer are staying in the woods tonight because I have not seen a single one yet. I check every time Ken goes to the front porch to smoke. I also saw a fox the other night. They must like the leftovers I am throwing out.

Ken has been learning how to use my Firestick and picking out movies every night. Last night he cued up Stray which looked like a cute movie about dogs. I hope no mothers took their kids to see it if it was in the theater. From the very beginning of the movie, it was nothing but bad language. The little dog talked so fast that I would have to watch it a couple more times to catch all the funny lines. I ended up liking it. I would rather laugh than get scared any day.

Tonight we watch The Terminator and now, Terminator 2. They are not too bad but not my thing. I don't think I have ever watched so many movies as I have since I got a roommate. That's okay though because it is starting to get cooler weather and it is almost time to bring out the knitting needles.

Morning, all.

Well, if clear skies includes nearly 1/4" of rain, they got it right. Otherwise their average accuracy remains the same.

Yeah, my original cell holder is looking pretty ragged .. I carry the extra battery in it in my pocket ..

Pants pocket inventory ::

Battery in holder
1900 Silver Dollar my Grandpa gave me
Small Pill Holder with Mid Day meds and a few pain pills
Comb
Loose Change
Cash on Money Clip
Tiny Guitar Tuner
Some Guitar Picks
Swiss Army Knife
Thin wallet with a few Credit Cards / insurance Card / Medicare Card / VA ID Card / DL
Phone

It's not nearly as bad as it sounds .. I should get a Murse / Man Bag

Not bad :)
Counting what's on my belt and shirt pockets...
Loose change
Multi-tool
keys
keys
keys
(yeah, 3 sets, for two houses, three cars, mailboxes...)
phone in belt holster
two mods, one in shirt pocket, one in belt holster - no spare battery, it's in the second mod :)
wallet with too much stuff
phone
pen, stylus, lighter

So where do disgarded Lion-ion batteries wind up? In some hazardous waste disposal dump? I've not heard anything about reclaiming the 'innards' and re-using it.

While the process is still evolving to less harmful, less energy sucking tech, too many are still going to the dump, or just tossed on the street. Disposables seem to be in the fore=front of that...

Will be doing my annual Thanksgiving Meals on Wheels Church delivery gig tomorrow .. 11 AM to 2 PM (but it always ends up going longer) .. the old folks always want to talk ..

Who am I kidding .. ?? I'm an Old Folk ..

When I get back home, I'll spend the bulk of the day with my old friend Jack. some legal substance and / a charcuterie board .. movie marathon consisting of either the 'Lord of the Rings' Peter Jackson Directors Cut 4K Trilogy or 'The Winds of War' 1983 TV Mini Series / Restored 4K Disk Set ..

I'm leaning towards 'The Winds of War' ..

There are two things that I cannot understand. 1 is how can a man get along without a pocketbook and 2, how do they keep their pants up with all that stuff in their pockets?

Oh great. There was a Terminator 3. It is okay. I'm tired and ready for bed.

It was a productive day around here. Started going through stuff in the garage. Dad kept everything. I did not know what half the stuff was but thank goodness, Ken did. He can keep whatever he thinks we will use. We loaded the back of his truck up with junk and I have a huge stack of metal to sell. He said it would be a good idea to clean the garage out to make room for the boxes of the stuff I want to keep. I guess he is right.

I had another first today. We went to the dump. $12 to drop it off. As soon as we started throwing it off the truck, a huge bulldozer came and took it off. It did not smell as bad as I imagined. It was wonderful getting rid of it. But there is so much more to go through. Dad had every tool imaginable. Since Ken lost everything he had in the flood, I think he is happy to get some of the stuff back. That is if we stay together.

Who knows?

My aunt called and said she was going to make the deviled eggs and I was grateful. heehee One less thing for me to do since I was tired from dumping.

I did get the broccoli salad made and also made a Junk Yard Salad. Simple recipe and I like it. Ken was a little leary of the broccoli salad but after he tasted it, he ate part of my bowl so he must have liked it.

The dump was close to a restaurant we went to last week. They serve breakfast all day long. I had another first. I have never had eggs benedict. It was ok but I doubt I get it again. The hashbrowns and coffee were great. It is a little pricey. $30 for two breakfast meals. Ken had corn beef hash and eggs and I liked it. I had never eaten corn beef. I think that is what my mom used to eat on a Reuben sandwich. Not sure.

Well, Thanksgiving is today and I really do have a lot to be thankful for. I have to include y'all in my many blessings. Y'all are the best.

I hope everyone has a wonderful turkey day.

I did my good Thanksgiving deed this morning. (not as good as UW's deeds for today but ...) I saw a small dog with collar and tags walking around our backyard. I just had a feeling he got loose. Just as I was going out to collect him and look at the tag. I saw a man come out on the porch through the woods behind our house. hmmm? And when he came off his deck and started walking into the woods between his house and ours - I called out to him and sure enough it was his dog and he came and got him.

Hey! Where's all the vendor's Black Friday sales? Remember the good old days

I still keep up my motorcycle license to this day, although I sold my last Harley a few years back .. my reflexes and my nerves were having a hard time on two wheels and I just decided that, in the Modern World of rampant distracted drivers, the juice was just no longer worth the squeeze ..
Yeah, I keep my motorcycle endorsement on my drivers license even though it's been 45 years or so since I asked myself whether I wanted to give up motorcycles or alcohol (and gave up bikes). [ time passes ] I've just been reviewing how that decision has affected my life. In broad strokes: I would never have met my wife (in a bar) with whom I will have soon spent 40 years. I probably wouldn't be 50 pounds overweight. Whether I would even be alive is a moot point.

Hmm, EDC inventory
(left shirt pocket)
Felt pen
Ballpoint
Pencil
Flashlight
Stylus (for iPhone)
Screwdriver (6 in 1)
Chapstick
Earplugs
Small vial of ghost pepper flakes
Roll of tissue (for chronic nose bleeds)
Various small dental tools

(right shirt pocket)
iPhone
Vape

(left pants pocket)
Code 38 corkscrew
small multitool
vial of my homemade 6.5% nicotine ejuice

(right pants pocket)
Keychain (with tiny knife and pill fob for evening meds)
Benchmade folder knife

(left rear)
bandana
comb

(right rear)
Fat wallet (about 1 1/4" thick)

Altogether, my clothes, shoes, and EDC add about 10.5 pounds to my weight.
I recently put almost all of it in a multi-pocket vest and cut back to iPhone, vape, and keychain. I only wear the vest if I'm leaving the house.

Hey! Good to hear from you. Looking good on the Triumph. I had a '64 Triumph Bonniville. The engine and frame were stock but that was about it. My last 'bike' was a 650 BSA. But I knew the times were-a-changing when Janet was pregnant with Michael and we bought our first house. The BSA was sold to buy a washer and dryer. But like you and UW I still have a license to ride. :)

Just watch out for the loose change - it gets pretty heavy!!

I remember my father telling me a funny story about a vacation my parents took with a stop in Las Vegas. He got a hit on a slot machine and loaded the winnings in his pockets. He had to hold his pants up so they wouldn't fall down! Didn't they have those cups back then?

A small vial of ghost pepper flakes? Really? And you have your own dental tools? Hope you had a good belt cinched tight for all that! I shouldn't laugh, my purse probably looks just as bad.
