Morning, lizards.

If we only had a sunny rock to lounge on and finish digesting!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I for one, ate way too much and I enjoyed every single bite. The family gathering was very pleasant and Ken seems to fit in with my crazy family very well. I will admit that I could have used a tiny bit more stretch in my leggings. They were at maximum expansion.

Enjoy the leftovers!

Had a good day. My phone would not connect to the charging cable. I blew it out thinking something was in there. I called a place that fixes electronics and the guy was so nice. Told me to bring it in and ask for him. It was something in the plug that I did not see. I was so thankful that it was not the phone. When I asked how much I owed him, he said nothing to just have a good day. I was happy and gave him a $10 tip. Hope it bought part of his lunch.

It was a bit cool but we took a ride on the bike. Just around town. To cool for the highway with what I was wearing. He had me home before the sun went down because he knew I was chilly.

My aunt had given me the drippings from where she cooked the turkey. I added chicken and more broth. Used biscuits to make the dumplings and added 2 cans of mixed veggies. It was a big hit. Ken ate two bowls and another one while we were watching the second movie. It was a double feature night.

My days are all messed up. It did not seem like Friday to me. Not sure what kind of day it seemed like though. It is the weekend again. I have no plans. That's a good thing.

    Have a great day all.

That is so funny (and true). We took my bike today but that is not going to happen on his chopper because if I fall off. . . he's coming with me.

    Morning all.

Got a little chilly last night - 25. Might make it to 40. Or even 41...

is not going to happen on his chopper because if I fall off. . . he's coming with me.

Maybe he could glue big strips of velcro on the fender? ')

Good morning people. It's a chilly 30 out there, going up to 40. Had one of those night where I just couldn't fall asleep. Should have just gotten up, but I kept hoping.

So, today we're going out for some supplies to finish work started on our powder room. Just got a text from our daughter that the little guy is back to normal. No more sickness so they may be coming here today or maybe tomorrow. Looks like it's going to be a busy weekend.

About a month ago, I stopped making Ken's breakfast because I do not eat breakfast. He was very understanding and had no problem with fixing his own. He still asks every morning if I want an egg sandwich or whatever he is fixing.

My cousin sent home a baggie of the ham she fixed and Ken said last night it would make a good omelet. So what did I do this morning? Of course, I fixed him one. I had onion, tomato, green pepper and cheese. I tell you, I am dazzling the boy with my cooking skills.

Dumplings and macaroons last night and a big omelet this morning. heehee He was very appreciative. I told him I might do that sometimes on the weekend. I broke down and ate a couple of bites of his because it was so big. I hate to toot my own horn but it was really good.

It is 43 with a feels-like temp of 35. The wind sure is making it seem a lot cooler. I froze when I went out with him so he could smoke. I've already warned him that when it got really cool, I would not be keeping him company out there. I'll stay where it is warm.

Okay, I'm going to try to not post (unless something spectacular happens) and let y'all enjoy your Saturday.

Yeah, I keep my motorcycle endorsement on my drivers license even though it's been 45 years or so since I asked myself whether I wanted to give up motorcycles or alcohol (and gave up bikes). [ time passes ] I've just been reviewing how that decision has affected my life. In broad strokes: I would never have met my wife (in a bar) with whom I will have soon spent 40 years. I probably wouldn't be 50 pounds overweight. Whether I would even be alive is a moot point.

My last 'bike' was a 650 BSA. But I knew the times were-a-changing when Janet was pregnant with Michael and we bought our first house. The BSA was sold to buy a washer and dryer. But like you and UW I still have a license to ride. :)

The first real bike I owned was a used 1962 BSA Gold Star that I bought around 1966 .. 500cc one lunger and it was a beast .. it has a decompression lever in order to facilitate kick starting .. no fancy electric start back in those days .. you had to follow a specific starting routine in order to get it to fire up .. but man, that big single could really swing once you got 'er going ..

Based on todays money, I paid dirt for it, I think around $300 .. like so many things in life, including the 1970 Dodge Challenger I bought when I got out of the Military, oh, had I just hung on to them ..

I always had a bike of some sort for many years .. they were a form of therapy for me .. sadly, age and distracted drivers ended up causing me to throw in the towel ..

These days, you about need a tank on the roadways, and my truck is the closest I'll get to that .. although I have considered adding armor ..

Rode for a few years, when living in the LA basin. Commuted (mostly) on 2 wheels for a few years. Gave it up when we moved north, to western WA. Uh, no, 2 good days a year, not worth it :)

But I've often thought that the first "learner's permit" should be on 2 wheels, not 4. You either learn to ride / drive VERY defensively or you get a Darwin award and the road is safer for the rest of us. And being on 2 wheels for a while really does make you look out for them even when in 4...

So true .. to this day, I'm probably what many would consider a paranoid driver .. but that paranoia has served me well ..

No, I'm not that old dude doing 55 on the freeway, that's as dangerous as anything .. but I am very much mindful of 'the road ahead' ..

Last drive I took to Nashville, I kid you not, I avoided 3 fairly bad accidents in front of me by not that many car lengths ..

And, don't even get me started on Chicago

Indeed. And it's not that other drivers are "out to get you", just that they're often not awake. Or still drinking their coffee, or on the phone, or... simply not aware of other vehicles. Always have to know at least a couple ways to escape!

Haven't been in Chicago in many years, but years of SoCal freeways. (Also not for years - I deliberately avoid that on my trips to Phoenix, cut across north of there to avoid the log jam!)

My ex was the worst driver I have ever known. I honestly cannot tell you how many wrecks my father (who sat in the front seat with him when we ventured out) helped him to avoid. He looked everywhere but in front of him. As a result, he had many rear end collisions. Whew! I don't miss that. I can't imagine he has gotten worse in his old age.

Ken, on the other hand, is a very good driver. He and his father had a moving business for many years and drove all over the country. He has been in every state. He has not scared me at all. I could even take a nap when we travel if I was not so excited to be going somewhere.

I really do want to get my mc endorsement. I think it would be best to get me something very small to learn on and something cheap and disposable. All three of my cousins have had motorcycles and they are older than me. They all said a bigger bike was easier to drive. Something about being more balanced. I am not sure.

We will see. It is on my list of things I want to do. And it is a long list. heehee

    Morning, all.

Another chilly night, 25 again. But my guess of 41 for yesterday's high was spot on... and looks to be about the same today. Yep, time to put the sandals in the closet.

    Funny story about that.

Many years back, when I was still riding (punched out Honda, otherwise stock) and working in SoCal, a buddy / co-worker was an immigrant from Pennsylvania, rode a Sportster with a 16" extension. He finally, after a couple years, got tagged for still having the scoot registered and his license both from PA. Yup, had to take the CA motorcycle test. Which required lots of slow, tight manouvering. Not easy, maybe not possible with that much front end. So one day we went there together, and he used mine to ace the test.

Worked in the garage again today and have another truckload for the dump. I love getting rid of stuff.

Actually went out of a date tonight. Just Ken and I went to Bonbon's and had their ribs. They are so darn tasty. We split them and still brought half of them home.
    ribs.jpg

We stopped by a local bar but there was no band and hardly anyone there. Guess everyone is still at home eating leftovers or something. Came home and watched movies which was fine with me. It started raining as soon as we got home. They were calling for 0% chance. Oh well. I am full and ready for bed. I cannot believe he is watching Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles. It is not too bad actually. I just am not sure I can stay awake to finish it.

    Hugs.

    Morning, all.

Still acting like it's winter, another 25 degree night, after a high below 40 yesterday. More of the same on deck, until rain on the weekend.

started raining as soon as we got home.

    Good timing :)

I was very good today and got back to walking like I used to. It felt good but I may have over done it. I'll know in the morning.
    1YES.gif

We have definitely gotten chilly. One of my weather apps says it will be 19 degrees in the morning. One says 24 degrees. I do not imagine I will be able to tell the difference but one thing is for sure, Ken will be smoking by his lonesome tomorrow morning.
