Morning, all.

Rain continues, and may do so for several more days. And real rain, almost 1 1/2" since this time yesterday. And mumbling about a foot or more snow in the mountains. Daily :)

I know. here it is - December, and I haven't accomplished a thing all year.

Sure you have, Nermal. You made it through the first 11 months :)

Another day of staying in my jammies. That's okay. I think I needed the rest. The rain is over but it is extremely foggy outside.

I doctored up a frozen 3 meat pizza for supper. I just added bacon, onions, green peppers, mushrooms and crushed pineapple. Once again, Ken liked my supper. It was pretty tasty.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

Morning, loungers.

Another day of staying in my jammies.

Well, that's why we're loungers ;)

Some sun breaks yesterday, late. Rain came back overnight, and if they're right, some more sun breaks late today. Then repeat mode, for the week, they claim.

I lounged yesterday and evidently, I did not get finished because that is what I did today too!

We did take the bike out this evening to go listen to a band at one of the bars we go to. It was just a single girl singing with a guy on the piano. She was quite good and I enjoyed it. After riding the other night in 36 degree weather, the 61 degrees today felt rather warm. At least it quite raining this morning. Several days of it is enough for me and my joints.

Ken fell asleep on the couch. I asked him if he wanted to go to bed and he said no so I am going to bed and leave him on the couch. He's a big boy and can come when he is ready.

Hope everyone has a great start to their week. Hugs to all.

Good morning people. Cloudy and 40, going up to 47 for the day.

Well, this was a terribly sad weekend for us. Our daughter called us last week to say that her little guy tripped over their dog. He fell right on her back and she fell to the floor with both legs splayed out to the sides, They rushed her to the pet ER and found out that her hip was dislocated. They were able to put it back in, but it soon slipped out again so she couldn't use one back leg at all and the other one was pretty unsteady. Using a towel as a sling was the only way she could walk. At 18 years old it was not thought that she'd make it through surgery. All things considered, after a couple days, the decision was made to put her to sleep.

Kate called the mobile vet who came to the house on Saturday. The whole family gathered while the vet gently put poor Izzy to sleep. We were all a sobbing mess, but the vet was so compassionate and supportive.

Kate got Izzy as a pup soon after her husband died and I swore she was a reincarnation of him. Long legs, so intelligent and friendly to everyone. She really helped Kate get through that horrible time in her life. We miss her terribly, but I'm so vey grateful that we had her for all those years.

Morning, all.

More rain, or is that still rain? ;) Sadly, coming in with high temps, they think we'll approach 60 today, and the freezing level to jump up to 9K', so what's been coming down as snow will now rapidly come down the streams. Yes, flooding in the usual places.

I lounged yesterday and evidently, I did not get finished because that is what I did today too!

Good work! It's a tough job, but some one has to do it :)

Good morning to the early birds.

Uh, ok. It's 0630(ish) here, but that means you slept in?

Well, this was a terribly sad weekend for us.

I am so sorry, Janet. I know how hard that was but compassionate for Izzy. Cherish the memories.

I've followed Parton since she first appeared on 'The Porter Waggoner Show', oh so many years ago .
I remember seeing her on Porter Waggoner. It's hard to believe there were any rhinestones left for the rest of the world.
Thanks for providing the link to her halftime show. I doubt that there is any performer as attuned to her image as she is; if she thought she could wear that outfit, I expect it was a good decision.

I know the feeling. The most significant thing I've accomplished this year was to get a pacemaker installed, and that was really my medical team's accomplishment.

It is one of the toughest decisions that has to be made but it is the right one. Bless her heart. I think everyone here has had to go through the same thing and grieve. It is not always easy to do the right thing but it is what we have to do because of the love we have for our pets. My heart goes out to you all.

I did not have to cook supper tonight. YAY! Ken wanted to fix chili and I was all for it. However, someone needs to tell him if he decides to fix supper that cleaning the kitchen is part of the deal.

Well, anyway, it was very good and I enjoyed it. I also have a bunch to put in the freezer that will be a quick meal later on when it gets cold.

I hate to admit this but I woke up and for some reason thought it felt like Saturday. I actually thought it was until this afternoon.

Not sure if it is the lack of sleep or I am in need of a neurological exam. Maybe both.

Ugh, woke up at 3:00 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. So, got up at 4:00 and came downstairs made the coffee and worked on my grocery list with an eye on what was needed to make Christmas cookies. It would be nice to make a bunch and take a plate to my neighbors.

Yesterday when we brought in the mail there was a little folded piece of paper that said Merry Christmas with a little star sticker inside. It was closed with a couple pieces of glittery tape. I'm assuming it was from the only neighbor we have that has little kids. Bet it was from them. How nice! They'll get a bigger plate of cookies.

Sure wish I knew where my cookie gun was. There's a recipe for cream cheese cookies that are one of my favorites. Guess I'll try snipping a corner off a zip lock bag and use a star tip to pipe the dough to make little cookies and hope they bake up ok.

Yesterday Mike make an 18" X 40" table. I ironed a white sheet to drape over it and so can set up our Dept. 56 Christmas village. That'll keep him busy while I'm at the store.

Tomorrow we can set up the Christmas tree and then then later this week we'll decorate it while we watch It's A Wonderful Life. It's a tradition in our house to watch that movie.

Do any of you have holiday traditions at your house?

At any rate, I don't know if any watched the Thanksgiving Day game, but the halftime show generated quite an outpouring of opinions as it related to Parton's selection of an outfit ..

I say, 'Go for it girl' .. you decide ::
Just got around to viewing the video. Taylor Swift should hope she looks that good when she reaches Dolly's age.
