Morning, all.

More rain, but not (yet) the promised river, here anyway. But they did get the temp part right, sadly. Freezing level around the 9K' they guessed, so all that snow will be coming down the creeks.

assuming it was from the only neighbor we have that has little kids. Bet it was from them. How nice! They'll get a bigger plate of cookies.

I put out a few decorations today. Nothing big but it looks nice. We had the back of the Honda loaded with decorations. I thought now would be the time to take them and donate to the thrift store. Guess everyone else had the same idea. They took a few things but said they just couldn't take all of it. I will try the Outreach Center at the church Thursday when it opens. Maybe they will want to sell it. If I did not live on a dead-end road, I'd put them out on the street with a "free" sign.

Ken fixed supper for me again. Leftover chili from last night but he put bread in a big bowl, covered it with ketchup, relish, and mustard, had a layer of hotdogs and cheese, and then covered it with his chili. It was like eating a huge hotdog with a fork. He said his mom always made it when he was little and she called it a Scrambled Dog.

No matter what it was called, I thought it was tasty and I want it again.

It is as good as halfway to Fri-Yay. Hope everyone has a nice day.

Still soggy, but the claim is it will back off today. Of course, it does take time for it all to go downhill, and the usual places are, well, in trouble. Yeah, they need to keep issuing building permits in the flood plains...

Or a chili-dog? Shouldn't be "scrambled" without, uh, scrambled egg ;)

Just an FYI on the popular Molicel 18650's. They are a bit longer than a standard 18650. We have a couple-few PV's where the battery clips into it, between a fixed positive post and a spring loaded negative post (just a smidgen of movement available). We've had no issues with many brands of batts over the years until we switched to the Molicel's last month.

Geez, they were hard to get out. Went in OK. But most times it was a real chore to get them out and I noticed the covering around the edge of the negative side was getting ever so slightly damaged each time the battery was removed. Not a good thing long term.

Checked on Mooch's blog and sure enough ... he has a note about these being longer than standard 18650's. It has not been an issue with PV's where you insert the battery and then screw a cap on to secure things.

So, off to 18650batterystore again and bought some Sony VTC6's still on sale.

It's a deconstructed dog, ha ha. I always hated the term, deconstructed.

So much for 'standard' .. I got my order of Molicel 18650's from 18650batterystore a couple days ago .. they fit the Aegis fine .. they did seem to have little to no charge when I got them, so I charged them all up ..

I suppose I should environmentally dispose of my 2 Samsung 18650 .. I believe I've used them exclusively for about 3-4 years in rotation .. they still last about a day, but they do look a bit ragged at this point .. one has a dent on the + top ..

Yep. Couple turns of tape over the business ends, and off to Home Depot or similar. What they actually do, who knows, but we should do our part :)

It's only the Asmodus Colossal that give us a problem because the battery 'snaps' in between the pos and neg terminals.

That is exactly what I said to him.

Yep, that's where I dispose of mine too.
I have never gotten rid of any of my 18650's. I use the old ones in my flashlight and fan. They do fine in there. When I do get rid of them, I will take them to Home Depot.

I finally put out a few Christmas decorations. Not many this year. I will be spending Christmas in TN so I did not want much.

I took a truckload of my and my parent's Christmas decorations to two different thrift stores today. I don't think Ken could have fit one more Christmas ball in the back of my Honda CRV. He even had the back seats down. I could have put them all up this year and outdid the Griswald's on Christmas Vacation. I love that movie. I have already seen it for this year. Hey. I guess I do have a Christmas tradition that Janet was talking about. Yay!

He has said we could have a yardsale but I had just rather donate it and let someone else get some joy out of them. I guess I also did not want to take the time or trouble to do it. I sure am getting lazy.

Same with my Sigelei's, I can't get them in at all. :(
    Which Sigelei's are you using?

It amazes me a battery with such a good reputation is 'out of specs' re: it's length. If a 'maker' is going to go to the trouble to make a quality battery why not keep it within specs - duh!

    Morning, all.

More rain, although it's not been as heavy, and the temp is starting back down, so snow up high, and the rivers will start to go down.

I guess I also did not want to take the time or trouble to do it.

    Smart :)

The Sigelei 50W VR2 Box Mod. I love them, though, and use some older batteries in them.

I was having some hazelnut-flavored coffee this morning but it just was not tasting right so I added half a bag of hot cocoa mix. Not bad at all. That should get me going.
    1laugh.gif

I forgot to put out the garage yesterday like I always do so this morning I was trucking down, in my pajamas, in 36-degree weather, to the end of my street carrying my garbage. Since the service went up so high, I asked the woman down the street if she wanted to split the cost. She is older than me so I take mine down to her house. I know that sounds cheap, but paying $306 a year is ridiculous. $153 sounds more reasonable to me.
    1YES.gif
She is retired and lives alone so I think it helps her too.

Took the bike out yesterday and yes, it was invigorating, to say the least.

We ran a few errands. We were going to go eat but I did not think I had on enough warm clothes on so we just came home. I fixed Ken a huge baked potato with chili and cheese and fixed me a western omelet. We sat and shared them both since they were both tasty. We kept switching plates. It was sort of fun. heehee

Not sure what is on the agenda today. I went to the grocery store first of the week but Ken is already out of milk so I have to go back again. Grrrr He sure drinks a lot of it. Guess that is a good thing. I never drink it (unless it is chocolate, of course) and I haven't had a bowl of cereal in years. I do take a supplement for my bones though.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Hugs to you all!
