Does he live near Clarksville? Here is my post from another thread:
Yes, he does. I have been there. I am not sure which it is because sometimes he says Hurricane Mills and sometimes he says Waverly. But it is close because I have been there.

After he lost EVERYTHING in the flood 2 years ago, I am glad his camper was not moved. Yes, you have something to be grateful for too. It is so scary to me. I have never been through anything like that.

We did have Hugo here in I think 2019. It was a hurricane but I had finally fallen asleep after a terrible couple of days with no sleep and I did not hear a thing. So you could say that I can sleep through a hurricane.

I had another productive day yesterday with getting rid of stuff. I added to the back of Ken's truck that we will be taking to the dump and I have a bunch of stuff to take to the thrift store. Found a huge box of nothing but Barbara Cartland books. Our library used to have a section of free books so I am going to go by there and see if I can donate them.

Found another old Royal typewriter. Looks new and still has the owner's manual with it.

royaltypewriter.jpgIt is like participating in a treasure hunt, almost.

Had a good day. After calling nursing homes, thrift stores, and Salvation Army I finally found someone who wanted my box of paperback books by Barbara Cartland. My mom loved her books and read all the time. The library in the next town over was thrilled to get the books to add to their collection. The ones that were duplicates would be sold at their yard sale to purchase more books. My library said they were not interested. But I am pleased. There were 232 books. These were downstairs. I tossed all the ones in the attic.

As I was going through my craft stuff, I heard a huge noise in the kitchen. Ken came in there and told me he had caught a mouse. I had never seen one in the house before so I jumped up and ran in there. I think he thought I would get all upset. He does not know me that well yet because when something like that happens I go into a different mode. I figure out what can be done. He said he caught the mouse under a big empty pot that was on the stove. I told him to stand back and I put a plastic cutting board under the pot so I could trap the mouse and of course, let him go outside.

I started to lift the pot and Ken tried to boo me and scare me which did not work because I was in problem solving mode. He then started to lift the pot which I told him not to do. He did it anyway and under the pot was a mouse. The damn mouse to my laptop. He busted out laughing. I did not really find the humor in it at the time. I smiled at him and asked him where he was sleeping tonight and then left the room to resume cleaning out the rest of my crafts. I can laugh about it now.

I fixed chicken alfredo with broccoli, salad, and garlic bread. Pretty tasty if I say so myself. Ken had a big bowl at supper and just now fixed him another bowl to eat so I guess he liked it too. That or he was trying to make it up to me about the practical joke.

Since I went to the dollar store, bank, post office, and library today and then came home and fixed supper, I am tired and I think I am going to go read. I only slept a couple of hours last night so tonight should be better.

Hope everyone has a good night's sleep and a wonderful day tomorrow.

But, did you cut off it's cord with a carving knife?

    Morning, all.

Light rain this am, they decided to sneak some in on us. Maybe another 1/4", and still cool enough that it should be snow higher up - and a chance for that to stay snow.

Good deal, but do you have a handy flat bed trailer to get them there?

under the pot was a mouse. The damn mouse to my laptop.

This is how we deal with them around here :)

    Good morning people.

Yesterday I met a long time friend at Longwood Gardens where we spent the day wandering around the estate in awe of all their decorations. We had a most delicious lunch in their cafe and then wandered some more. It was truly spectacular. A bit chilly at 42 degrees, but the sun was shining so not too bad. By 4:00 we could feel the temps dropping so we didn't stay for the night time light show. It was starting to get pretty crowded by then anyway. I'm sure I got my 10k steps in for the day so we headed home on our separate ways. What a lovely day spent with my friend.

I've got lots of stuff to do around the house today and tomorrow our contractor is coming back to reset the powder room toilet and repairing the downstairs ceiling where he did the wiring etc etc. I can make more cookies while he's doing that. Busy, busy time of year especially when the days are interspersed with watching the grandsons off and on.

Our daughter does the Elf on the Shelf thing each year. In the mornings the boys get up all excited to find out where "Chippy" is and if he's gotten into anything he shouldn't. The thing is, you can't touch him or he looses his magic. So Hux asked for a glass jar to put him in so he could sit on the couch with them for movie night. Clever kid!

We took another load to the thrift store. They love me there. Then we filled up with gas and went in Sam's. Ken had never eaten one of their hotdog special so that is what he got. He said it was good. I was being good for a change and just got me a blue slushie. First one of those I'd had in a very long time.

The back seat seems to be drying some. We were going to get out the wet/dry vac but I told him it was not squishing anymore. Just damp. We left the doors open again today. I am sure it will be fine. I'll let it air tomorrow too.

We are supposed to go to The Yacht Club for their Christmas party tomorrow night. We got the toys to donate to Toys for Tots. I let Ken pick out a boy gift and I did a girl. Can't go wrong with a truck and a big stuffed bear which of course, you know was pink and sparkly.

If I had not forgiven Ken for his prank before, I would now. He grilled me out a ribeye steak that was cooked to perfection. Just the way I like mine. Ummmmm

We got 3 but they were so big that we ended up splitting one. I will be freezing the other two for those nights when I do not feel like exerting myself.

    (which happens fairly often)

They are calling for rain again tomorrow and Sunday. Oh, joy! I just started getting over the last rain we had. I really need to get back to the gym. The rain honestly did not seem to hurt my joints as bad when I was going daily. Guess I have my New Year's resolution. I have a list. I just change the date each year.

Guess I hope someone slept well. Ken played the sound of a snowstorm all night long because he said it was supposed to help people sleep. It did NOT! But I must say it was a nice and thoughtful try though. He has no problem falling asleep or staying that way for a long time. I envy people like that most of the time.

I must say that the coffee has improved my morning.

That is funny (not for you) as I never think of the sound of a snowstorm since you can't hear snow falling so it would just be wind and rain?
