I'm sensing a trend .. I was watching a show, dog sleeping in lap, sitting in recliner, fully intending to switch to the Ball Drop feed to catch that and any fireworks ..

Blink, I'm out like a light and woke up at 1:30 AM ..

Then, to top it all off, on NY Day, I forgot to eat some black eye peas ..

If you Amazon Prime, do yourself a favor and watch 'The Sound of Freedom' .. it's a tough show to watch, at times, yet it conveys a message we all need to hear as it relates to one of the reasons we have migrants seeking asylum ..
It's ok Willie, I'm sure you get credit for thinking about eating black eyed peas! And you might be safe if you had any pork. That's our tradition for good luck.

We saw that movie in the theater. Good movie worth watching.

Morning, loungers.

More lounging on the agenda, watching the rain :) Snow line continues to fall, so good for that, still way behind.

I saw white specks on my black sweater for just a minute and was disappointed. I wanted to see snow so bad.

Stop using the dandruff shampoo? ;)

1st snow (kind of, it fizzled out into rain. Just going to be a slick coating of frozen snow in the morning). 1st fire and there goes the last piece of our old house. Been saving a left over piece of the new oak stair railing we out in before selling for the 1st fire in our new house.

heehee That was a good one. It did melt, so I'm good. I do want to see some snow though. They are calling for light snow on the 15th. That has time to change but it is nice to think we might get some. The bread and milk have probably already started getting low on the shelves at the store.

Went to hear a band last night at a bar we like to go to. I sure have started spending a lot of times in bars. Don't worry though, I only eat ice or drink Dr. Pepper.

I do love to see people play and sing. Last night there were two older men and a really young guy on the electric guitar who was rather talented.

Tonight it was those amazing ribs at my fav restaurant. My cousin texted me tonight and wants to go there tomorrow night with my aunt. I don't see why I can't eat there again. heehee They have lots of good food choices. Although I had planned to get the crockpot out. Beef stew on a cold night sure is good.

It rained this morning but we are expecting a lot of rain this coming week. Fingers crossed it gets below freezing. I want SNOW!

Hope everyone sleeps well.

Morning, all.

No snow here. Yet. :) Claim is it's on its way in a couple more days. But still getting snow higher up.

They are calling for light snow on the 15th. That has time to change

Yeah, 8 days out is a stretch, since the so often get 1 day wrong!

I woke up to a power outage this morning which meant delayed coffee, which meant an unhappy Rat. Luckily it was only a few hours.

I am planning on a quiet and lazy day around here. Hope Ken is on the same page. I guess he is since he is still in bed. Hope he is not coming down with anything. He said he was not feeling well last night.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

I tossed and turned and got up and down all night long. Yep. It is supposed to have some hard rains tomorrow and I am feeling it. I think we are having rain the rest of the week. Yay! Not! heehee

So glad the power was okay this morning. I detest having to wait to have my coffee. This is not a sign of aging. I have always wanted my coffee as soon as I get up.

Ken just asked me if I wanted to go outside with him to smoke. It is 32 degrees so what do you think I said? Guess the honeymoon is over.

I got the stuff to make beef stew but we have so many leftovers in the fridge, I think I will wait until tomorrow. I hate wasting food although the critters don't mind.

Hope the day goes fast and easy for all that want it to. Me? It does not matter because I'll have to check what day it is before the day is over.

Don't you have a gas grill or some way to heat water for coffee?

I keep a 1 burner Coleman stove and 'old fashioned' percolator coffee pot around for just such emergencies. I guess it's the Boy Scout in me ... be prepared. ;)

I don't even keep an old coffee pot, just use a small pot to heat water and pour it through a coffee filter into my regular pot. BTW, I wasn't a boy or girl scout lol but I have to have my coffee so cowboy coffee works for me.

    A fire pit works also.

    Morning, all.

More rain, temp still dropping. "Big" storm later today / tonight, and a bigger one on deck. With even lower temps.

Ken just asked me if I wanted to go outside with him to smoke. It is 32 degrees so what do you think I said? Guess the honeymoon is over.

What? You didn't go out to hold an umbrella over his cig? ;)

My ex got the gas grill in the divorce Dad never would buy me one. Since he passed, I have not really needed one but I am sure I will get one when I get to where I am going land.

If the power was out too awfully long, I would walk and get some. I really need my coffee in the morning.

I was impressed when I ate at my aunt's Christmas. My cousin had a Ninja Woodfire. He programmed his phone and it fixed the best New York Strips I have ever had on a gas grill. It did everything. Airfried too. It was $400 on Amazon and I was close to buying one that night. That is how impressed I was. But there is NOTHING that can compare to a charcoal grill. I have one of those and I might could have boiled water on it. I'm not sure.
