I wanted something simple since I was tired from doing chores today so we had frozen Bertinelli (I think that is what it was) Chicken Alfredo and broccoli. I added a big salad and garlic bread. It was not bad at all. I would buy it again but I might add some chicken to it. There was not much in it at all.

Ken is watching football. That was one of the first things I wanted to find out about him when I first met him. He said he did not watch much sports. He sure has been watching a lot of it so I questioned him on it at supper. He said he watches the last few games and the Super Bowl. Same with baseball. I guess I should have been more specific.

Hope everyone has a nice night and sleeps well.

Watched the movie Napoleon last night. Did not take long to realize my knowledge of history is not very good. Guess I was more interested in science when I was in school.

I am going to try to sleep but I already know it is going to be a challenge. Hope everyone here is sleeping peacefully.

Grid failure has become a higher probability over the last 20 years .. whatever backup power source anyone considers, do your homework .. dual / triple fuel systems / .. solar with battery, Tesla Powerwall, there are quite a few options .. some offer a tax advantage as well ..

I tend to think in the longer term when it comes to this .. if you're going to make the investment, anything is better than nothing, but planning on days / weeks, not just hours, is the smart move
Yes, I agree and usually have long term in mind. I could go broke preparing and would probably make stupid decisions because my knowledge is limited. Never heard of the Tesla Powerwall, but it looks interesting. I'm adding it to my folder.

Good morning all. Another chilly day here too. High only a little bit above freezing. Not motorcycle weather. Unless I had a heated suit.

I am looking at them but the one I want is pretty pricey. Everything that has Harley Davidson on it is ridiculously overpriced. It plugs into the bike so you have no battery packs. That would be so cool. (pun intended)

A friend started talking about chili and now that is what my tastebuds are screaming for. I had not planned on venturing out in the polar bear weather but I just might have to.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Boy, everyone must have had a pretty busy day. Here I am again.

I was not planning on going to the bar and watching a football game but that is what I did and I did have a nice time. We left as soon as the game was over. His team did not win but at least it was a close game. I sat and read how to play football and asked questions. I think I understand the game a lot better than I used to. I do like learning new things. Thank goodness if he watches the World Series, I understand baseball.

We were in bed by 11:15 (which was the earliest in forever) and I was so sleepy from not getting but a couple of hours the night before that I went to sleep pretty quickly and was sleeping well when all of a sudden Ken flopped his hand on my lower back and scared the bejesus out of me. I tried to go back to sleep but couldn't so I just got up and thought I'd write y'all and then try again. I am having coffee right now which usually helps me sleep. I think I'll Temu for a little while and try it again.
Hope everyone is sleeping peacefully.

I am hoping to get a better night's sleep tonight. I had a good day though. I took my aunt some chili and spent some time with her since I have not been doing much of that lately. It was nice.

I went back to the gym today and rejoined. They remembered me. Most people do.

It did not take long for me to realize that I was out of shape. I did take it slow. I only walked two miles on the treadmill and lowered all the weights I was doing six months ago and not near as many repetitions. I think I will be okay in the morning. Maybe a little sore but that is mainly because of the rain that is coming. I swear, these o'l bones are more accurate than Doppler radar.

The chili was even better tonight. I love chili. After you add up all the stuff I added and the cost of the lean hamburger, it is not an expensive dish. At least I had several meals off of it and two containers to freeze and one to share with my aunt.
That's pretty good.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday. Hugs to all.

Good morning all. Slept much better last night although, I still want more.

I was not nearly as sore as I thought I would be. I think my strategy of being prepared for the worst helps me. I had much rather be pleasantly surprised than right.

I am going to finish my coffee and get moving like I used to do. I need to keep getting my tookus out of this chair. I am going to go to the gym and maybe do a little shopping. I am NOT going to go see if they have any more $8 boots though. Well, I am going to try.

Make it a great day!

Hey there. I made it to the gym 3 days in a row but the rain is messing with me so I am not sure I will go today. We'll just have to see. I know 17 lbs makes a big difference in clothes because most of my workout clothes are SNUG. Hopefully, by summer I will be back down so my old clothes will fit. Fingers crossed here.

Yesterday I had a bit of "retail therapy" to do. I have not done that in so long. It seems like I have just been running the household and paying bills. (other than those 2 pair of $8 boots when I was looking for Ken a birthday gift, which I never did get) After the gym today, I decided to go to the thrift store and I had a wonderful time.
1YES.gif

I bought 8 shirts, a leather pocketbook, 2 greeting cards, 2 pillows for the couch, and a leather coat. I could not turn it down because it was only $14.99. You may not believe this but it is the first leather coat I have ever owned. All the shirts were 25 and 75% off. I love a good deal. Two of the shirts still had the Kohl's price tag on them. I love thrift store.

I also went to the Dollar Tree and ended up spending $34. I have never spent that much in a $ store. It was not all mine, I bought the woman's behind me. It makes me feel good to do that. Of course, she did not have a cart full. I'm generous, not crazy.

I have not been there in a while so I had to stock up.

It is like a heat wave through here. Een not it is 62 degrees. Weird. I just wish there was not so much rain in the forecast. We have a cold wave coming and the high will be 43. I hate drastic weather changes. Grrrr

We had Chinese tonight. Just the frozen bag of General Tso with veggies. It had a bit of a kick to it. I added fried rice and a salad. Pretty good.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Good foggy morning. It's going to 54 today with light rain. Most of our snow is gone so it's' a bit of a wet mess outside. Much better than the freezing temps!

Tomorrow our daughter is having her gall bladder removed so I'm going down to their house today to watch the boys. I remember this surgery requiring a several day stay in the hosp with a large incision to recover from. Now it's an outpatient procedure! Guess that's a good thing so you don't have to spend much time there. Much better to recuperate at home! So, hopefully all will go well and she'll be up and around in a day or 2. Her 2 boys need their Mama!!
