13 days in a row of going to the gym does not seem to be doing what I expected. I've gained. Grrrr Oh well, I feel better and building back up the muscles I liked before.
Since muscle weighs more than fat....if you're building them back like you want to, you will gain weight...but it'll be muscle weight.

I am back up again. Just the usual for me. I need to get up early and get to the gym because I want to come home and shower. I have a dental appointment this afternoon. I will be glad when it is over. It takes so long for the student to clean my teeth. The things I do to save money.

I stopped by Aldi's on the way home from the gym and decided I wanted a hamburger. That is one thing I have not fixed for Ken yet. I also made some potato salad, which he loved. The burgers were excellent because Ken cooked them on the grill. It is just hard to beat anything fixed on charcoal. I was the griller because my ex burnt everything he put on a grill. It is nice to have someone else do it.

Guess I will give it another try. Hope everyone has a good day.

I had not seen that video, Willie. Thank you for posting it. I saw the video where he sang that song at the 2023 People's Choice Country Awards and he did not look well. The song almost makes me think he was telling us goodbye. What a great artist.

While I was googling about Toby, I saw that he made a movie back in 08 called Beer for My Horses. I had never heard of it. I thought it was really good. That Rodney Carrington is a hoot.

Oh well, we lost another good one.

I was at the gym when it opened (as planned) and then came home and got ready for my dental cleaning. It was a good day until then. The last time I went, I needed a crown on my back tooth. The big one that costs so much so of course, I have not done it yet. Then today, I have a tooth that is broken and she thinks I will need a crown on that one also. I thought it was just a part of a filing but no, it's the tooth. Guess there is only one thing to do: get them fixed.

Looking on the bright side, when I got up to the counter, she said it would be $2.50. I told her I usually pay $5. She said oh you get a senior discount after 60. They owe me some money for the last 3 years because they never offered me one. But that was okay because when I told her I had not gotten my discount she said it was probably because I didn't look old enough to get a discount. YAY! That made me feel good. I am not going to complain about $2.50 or $5. They have saved me a lot of money over the years I have been going.

Happy Fri-YAY to everyone. Hope you have a good day.

Morning, all.

Some light rain, cool temps, and a little bit of snow higher up. Need more. :(

But that was okay because when I told her I had not gotten my discount she said it was probably because I didn't look old enough to get a discount.

Yeah, you have to ask for a senior discount, Apparently somebody got offended when offered it, Vanity, thy name is extra cost.

Two Sunday nights ago Janet got a call from Sue (her sisters daughter) that Jeanie was in the hospital bleeding from the brain. It was an aneurysm in an in-operable cranial cavity. Needless to say we were on the first flight to Aiken, SC Monday morning. We went right to the hospital from the airport and Janet stayed there overnight.

Then on Tuesday arrangements were made to transfer her to home hospice care at Susan’s house. Susan and Janet were a combination of Florence Nightingale and a pair of Steel Magnolia’s taken care of her the last two weeks. She was semi-i conscience and you could talk with her and get either a low verbal reply or at least facial recognition to what was being said. Thank God the altzheimer did not progress so far and she still knew the people around her.

About 3 days ago she stopped opening her eyes and there was no longer any communication with her. A couple nights ago Janet said to me, that’s not my sister laying there, it’s just her body, she’s moved along. Then yesterday around 2:15 pm she passed over. She did wake long enough to tell everyone there how much she loved them.

Rest in Peace Aunt Jeanie.

    Evening all ...

Is this room under quarantine ... don't see many people entering here yet along chatting.

We missed you and Janet, my condolences to the family.

I'm in a boring rut - too much work, achy knee, and aging kitty with health issues. I've been living vicariously through you guys and @Rat2chat2 (who by example keeps reminding me I need to get a life and get to the gym!).

Looking forward to spring. There's snow in our forecast is for 8-10" of heavy wet stuff on Tuesday. Yesterday was gorgeous, nearly 60 degrees, what a tease!

I'm looking to retire this year, but don't have a date set. I've been so busy I haven't been able to write up the requirements to replace me! There's a big difference between my job description when I was hired in 2006 and what I'm really doing. I'm a minority owner and want to ensure that the transition is good for the business too. Being responsible and in management is such a pain!

    Best to all!

    Good morning.

Thank you so much everyone for your condolences. I so appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

I see Mike has filled you in on why I've been out of touch for the past 2 weeks. It's been rough, but I found a lot of comfort in being able to take care of my sister at the end. Years ago when she and I were taking care of our father we made a pact that if either of us were in this situation that we would take care of each other and I was able to keep that promise. I got home last night and now have to get back to the business of my life.

I see the Chiefs won the Super Bowl. A couple of the men around me on the plane were watching the game on their phones so I was at least able to keep up with the score. Last I heard KC was winning so I was surprised about the OT and the Chiefs pulling it off. That's ok, our Eagles weren't playing, just curious.

I've got a bunch of laundry to do and also get my nails done. If I don't get the gel or dip I don't have any nails and now they're way too long. How in the world do the women with 2" nails manage?
